This is advice for dating, how about being the parent of an Introvert? I am an introvert and I see a lot of signs that my son is also one, I am trying to explain to my ex-wife (yeah she should have watched this video but it's OK, I am not the one needing help, she is an extrovert and just doesn't get it, she doesn't quite get through to our son and we both know he has difficulties, I seem to have better results but he is not telling us everything not even to me, while I play the patience game knowing very well what is needed, she just doesn't get it, she is also not patient by nature. So yeah how about parenting an introvert when you are an extrovert and while I came up with this another thought occured, you make many videos on how extroverts should handle introverts but do you also have a reverse scenario? What if we like an extrovert (or in my case have to like because we still parent a kid together, but can't handle the constant barrage of dialogue and start to begin irritated, as it sometimes feels like they are needy and attention seeking, how do we politely say enough is enough, without looking apathetic or uninterested?

I'm an INFJ so I am an introverted person. I often times feel drained and so exhausted after having too much social interaction including with my partner and familiy. My partner is an extroverted person. She likes talking to me over the phone or video call, and we do it almost every night. I always feel exhausted after talking to her, even though I actually love her so much and I always want to spend time with her all the time, but my body, brain, and emotion just go like it's too much. I always feel bad to her cause I always say I'm tired and I need to be alone for sometime. I'm afraid she doesn't understand and thinks that I don't wanna talk to her or I feel annoyed by her calling that it bothers me. But that's not the case, I'm just exhausted after too much socialising. Does anyone have the same problem? How do you guys cope with it?

The person I was seeing for 8 mo was an introvert, and since I'm an ambivert whose anti-social meter is completely full my extrovert side take over a lot right now.
Besides him, my younge sister just came back from Japan. . I watched this and I think I did most of the things correctly, but it has been hard giving even more space. . I'm not quite so used to my sister being more of an introvert than she was before. ..
So, I definitely have a lot of learning curves, my ex of 6 yrs has high-functioning autism an aspergers, & he seemed completely normal most of the time, so I would often forget. ..
I think giving the extra space has been a bit hard for me to deal with.
And I've tried making more friends in my new city, but it has been quite difficult. .

Introverts look for depth in a partner. Someone who can discuss theories and possibilities with them, not one word answers. They like to spend time in less stimulating environments. They like to take it slow. They like to gather as much information as they can about people before expressing their feelings. Introverts are prone to overthinking and over- analizing. So they need mental support. Introverts needs are often overlooked including what they look for in a relationship. They bottle up their feelings. They need someone who can sense them. Read between the lines. Respect their space. Spend quality time together. Dont assume.

I always panic when my introverted GF doesn't want to spend time with me and prefers to work or rest alone instead. I am an extremely extroverted person. It can be very tiring to guess whether something happened or she is just tired. She is luckily straight forward if I ask her, but many times i'm just afraid to ask not to put more strain in her. She likes to work and works very much
However, I love her, and she loves me, and realisation of that always reassures me that everything will be fine with us two in the end.

Today I told my bf I want to spend time on my own sometimes. He said Sorry I annoyed you and kept bothering you
I said no, it is me being an introvert. He took it too personally and now he avoids talking with me always saying I'm annoying you
It is very frustrating. I am hurt. Now I regret telling him that I want some me-time. It's just that over the last 3 years that we are together he wanted to talk via call almost 24/7 when we are not together. Now I am burnt out but he thinks I am just annoyed at him.

I am lucky my partner understand I'm an introvert. I always mention it to him I'm an introvert person, even we are still friends way back before we fell in love. I think he did his research Lols. He understand I am anxious being watched. Mental blank or shutting down during big parties which he and his family usually host every family gathering and so on and he knows what to do.
I am very happy internet now shows the world our side.

This actually helped me to better understand myself. I've never been in a relationship because I know I'm hard to understand. I don't call people often because I need time to clear my head before doing so. A relationship doesn't seem to fit me. I'm getting to know someone right now but at times I just don't want to talk but I don't how to tell him that without him feeling like I'm tryna pry him off of me or something.

100% this explains my husband. I am an extrovert and have made every one of the mistakes she said not to do. Okay wish I heard all of this while I was dating and we would have avoided so many misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Even now, hearing this, I can appreciate the sensitive ways my husband shows he cares. Definitely no flirting LOL.

mere entertainment of ideas my brain literally never sleeps. there's always a dozen or so ideas floating around and yeah, it's chaotic a bit too.
and being an introvert who displays several autistic tendencies makes for an interesting combo. not officially diagnosed on autism but the tendencies are there.

Think the most important thing is to be okay with silence. Lots of introverts don't say much if it doesn't concern something they're particularly passionate about. That doesn't mean they don't like things or are ignoring you. Forcing introverts to constantly talk is incredibly draining especially on a regular basis.

What I hate is when I loosen up a little and everyone acts like Ive lost my mind. If I actually feel comfortable enough to express myself without second guessing, its shitty to make me feel like Im doing something wrong. But thats how my loved ones deal with me not being boxed in and quiet. Theres no winning

I know I'm an introvert. I recently met a man who has done all these things and I feel like I can let myself be me. He knows when to give me space, when I want to talk about things I have trouble saying and he just gets me. For him being an extrovert I don't know how I managed to be so blessed.

I'm 55 and an introvert, but not by choice. I'd say bang on the button with your assessment. Every word goes through the emotional part of our brain, unlike extroverts who skip that part. We feel every word. It's not a choice but how we are made up. It can be bloody tiring.

That one about introverts needing their space was right on. I dated a woman once who was obsessed with being with me 24/7 and didn't get that I needed my own space. In the end, after trying multiple times to get her to understand, I broke up with her.

Once I get to know you and you get me talking about something. I won't shut up. ha ha That will probably never happen with someone I don't own or at least don't fell comfortable with when I first meet them. I'm sure y'all know what I mean. :)

Just because you are quiet doesnt mean you dont have opinions and thoughts, also we are not weak and can be walked all over. We strive to try to fit to the accepted social norm in but it is exhausting

Can anyone please tell me how to handle the stress (not in a bad way) of dating an introvert, like you have to be the provider but what about your own needs and wants. Can anyone tell me how to handle that
