I was taught by my father at a very young age that complaining gets me nothing. In fact when I was old enough to know what I was doing he would make me stop crying or whining or whatever was going on. To this day I really don't care to complain about a thing. It truly does not help. It doesn't mean I am sunshine all the time, I see things the way they are. But there is just normally no reason to complain especially if I have any control over the situation.

My dad is a chronic complainer and would give me negative feedback about almost everything I show him or talk about, Im trying so hard all this year to lift him up but he wouldnt listen, even get angry sometimes, even tho i lost all my jobs and hope to be able play shows in the future, its becoming quite frustrating. I feel sad and angry really dunno what to do

Theres slight flaw in this claim or rather how it portrays stop complaining stop this effects. That is, you will end up rewiring your brain for negativity if you feel it in the first place. Speaking it might enhance it to degree i am not sure of, but complaining alone does not trigger this, nor is it the first step.
