8 Unique LGBTQ Dating Problems
video description
I remember I once ran into a person who was cross dressing, and i wanted to try and ask them some questions to understand the ideal a bit more, But as soon as I asked why they cross dress, I was immediately treated as if I was trying to judge them for it. which is sad to me, same as if I ask a man who turned female about their decision to change their gender, It has left a bad taste in my mouth when someone who has a specific lifestyle or preference won't be wiling to be honest or open to my questions because it gives off a feeling that they would rather choose to remain under the impression of me trying to oppress them when all i want to do is learn more about their choices or their beliefs and their practices, same as i would for someone who was a nudist, or someone who had a specific way they ran their home or relationship, such as a dominant submissive or a master and slave, or even a polyamrous or non monogamous lifestyle, heck i'd love to ask questions about why someone would prefer hook up culture over regular dating if i was allowed to do so. may times if you reject my questions? it can be seen as an instant red flag. if you are lgbtq? please be open and honest about it, otherwise you will make that much harder for people to want to get to know you. we're all two parts that make a whole. a person on the outside and a person on the inside. and that's something i would love to be able to see a lot more of.

Please someone read this and give advice!
Im ftm 17, but I pass well enough none of my long term friends know Im trans at all. My friend m(15) I recently found out has a crush on me. I had a mutual friend ask him what he likes about me and I found out that he likes some stuff but my innocents prevents us from connecting in a certain way
What the heck-?
Im not comfy with anything s3xu4l because of my trans body and Im waiting untill Im older yo do anything further than kissing and he made comments to make me believe he felt the same.
I now found out this 15 year old boy is thinking of banging me (17) and talking about it to other people.
How tf should I react? Do you think hes talking about kissing and stuff or more intense stuff? I thought I had a crush on him but this makes me absolutely disgusted that hes thinking of this and telling our mutual friends this stuff.

As a person who considers himself Homoflexible (Gay but sometimes also into girls, I find it really difficult when it comes to finding someone attractive, since most of my crushes are also boys, because I have a preference of feminine boys, because I don't quite like the female body, but I also find myself disliking the rich presence of muscles, abundance of facial and other bodily hair and masculine attitude. The people that attract me the most are male, but they aren't all that masculine, more like more into the feminine spectrum.
I don't know if anybody else can relate to these struggles.

Age differences in small towns are also an issue. I live in a small town in idaho, a heavily Mormon area, so teens are discouraged from coming out. I have actually lost long time friends for both dating girls and coming out as non-binary. So many people my age are not looking to date out of fear so most other LGBT+ members that I meet are old enough to be my parent. It kind of makes dating hard but it has also given me the chance to try long distance relationships which I thought that I couldn't handle. It has definitely been an experience.

It is important to remember that people with HIV are not dirty or deserving of their status in any way What status?
They're also not filthy, disgusting people who should be buried the moment they get their riddled test result.
I really don't think so, but I'm giving an example of how bad it can sound to give examples of things you've heard that you don't agree with, and then say the exact same thing only with a 'not' in front of it.

Body shaming and fetishising is a huge problem. We all have our types and interests and that's fine. However, so many people are just outright rude and cruel. It's fine to tell someone that they're not your type. It's not ok to have a profile saying overweight people are disgusting or that you disagree with feminity/masculinity. Just gently let people down. It's nicer for everyone.

I feel like most of these aren't really exclusive to queer people, although some are definitely more common for queer people. Racial fetishization in particular is common even for straight people- interracial is its own category on the Hub, and blacked/bleached content is so pervasive it leaks into everything.

Being a gay male, it seems like everyone hates us. Our family hates us, Our friends sometimes disassociate from us, The law hates us, Society hates us, Religions seem to hate us, Other gay men discriminate against us, It even seems like god hates us. We often even hate ourselves. EVERYONE hates us.

I just told my friend yesterday that I like women more than men. She said she accepted it but only after I finished explaining. Her first reaction was Eww and then she said she doesn't agree with me this once. I personally think she might have lied but idk. I'm giving her time to think it through.

If she lives with her parents, in the closet dating is far too draining for it to be an option ever again. Especially when you feel either mom or dad know, or both! I felt paranoid I was going to give my partner away in the off chance her parents were still clueless. p. l. u. r

The problem is when you are gay and get much attention from the opposite gender because you are just kind and nice and they think you are straight. I had to reach 48 years old to understand that it's ok to be kind but don't be too nice as some people need to know their limits.

So much focus on the negative: (
Racism towards white folks often isn't seen as racism - Just a norm.
I'd guess that every person experience racism in the dating scene. Even if you're not aware of it. 'Presumptions' one can call it as well.

#1 Casual Racism should just be General Racism. Or just General Hate. I've been really put off by a good chunk of LGBTQ+ peeps who excuse their hate using their race, status, demographic, etc as an excuse for their actions.

Dating as a trans person is exhausting. You really wanna date a guy, but you'll tell yourself that it's a fetish, and that a REAL man can't do that. I would absolutely love to date a guy, but I keep myself back.

Why is hook up culture in this? as long as your being up front with the person from the beginning and respect their decision if they say no, theres nothing wrong with it.

Who you date or choose as your partner for what ever reason, is a personal and private choice. In other words, its none of your business!
