I don't rlly expect anyone to read this but I would rlly appreciate a reply about this
So I had a friend for 7 years. We were very close. We recently started talking after a month bc of personal issues. He became religious (which I respect ofc) and everything was going fine until one day. My parents always hated him, they wanted me to stop being friends with him, which I avoided for the longest time. They hated him bc he talked abt thing that ppl our age should not talk abt. Yes they read our personal messages through my phone WITHOUT my permission. (and i also don't think they know that most kids/teens talk abt these kind of things. Some things he said were def questionable and weird, but my parents never rlly made me understand anything. Instead they always talked in a very rough, scary, and threatening tone which just made me more scared of them)
So we talked in a game where my parents wouldn't read our personal texts.
I had depression for a long time. It happened bc of school and other personal issues and I always told him about it. I told him what was wrong, how I wanted to kill myself etc. He had always been there for me. I trusted him more than my relatives.
2 weeks ago he texted me saying that he can't look at me ever again. I was confused so I asked him what he meant by that. He said that he can't look at women bc in his religion, he can't look at women. I was very confused. I immediately ended the friendship. (I'll tell u why at the end)
I was extremely sad but after 3 days he texted me again saying that he read misunderstood it all and needed to be married to not look at women. He texted me this time bc i blocked him in the game. He said that he lied abt the religion thing to get peace in mind. He said he always saw himself as the bad guy. He said he always hating himself when he was friends with me. He called me selfish for not caring about his feelings, which isn't true. I've always cared abt him.
My parents saw the text from my phone. They called me over, told me to NEVER talk to him again or they will take action. (Threatening him, leaking our messages to school teachers. Both of us were in the same class so my parents also said that they will change my class if i talk to him. They even said they might change SCHOOLS just to stay away from him) They thought that he was too young to talk such inappropriate topics such as marriage.
I cant talk to him in school either. My parents literally gave me specific lines to say if he approaches me. Insane, ik. They also said that they will ask the teachers if we talked and how i responded.
Idk what to do. Its been 2 weeks and I regret overreacting abt the religion thing. I kinda blame myself for this entire situation.
If u wonder why I overreacted in the first place, Our friendship was never perfect. We often disagreed with each other, argued often etc. I was probably bottling up everything in me so when he said that he couldn't look at me, I kinda exploded.
Any advice on what to do?

Im only 12, I dont feel like I can make the call that my mom is emotionally abusive yet, but here kinda of a day with my mom through my eyes
I wake up around 11: 00 am, my mom is usually sleeping all day so me and my two other siblings have to get breakfast ourselves (I skip breakfast bc I sleep in a lot) then lunch rolls around so we all make our own lunch and for dinner we have this thing called fend for yourself meaning we have to make our own dinners, and our mom will get up at like 3: 00pm in the afternoon and is always really cranky.
My mom tells me that she doesnt yell she just has a loud voice. but to me that doesnt make sense.
Today I walk out of my room in my Miku cosplay (bc I wanted to show my dad) into the living room where everyone was and as soon as I walk out my mom looks at me and says you look ridiculous, your never going out in public looking like that, at least not with me and went into her room.

I'm 25 living with my parents did my masters and waiting to do PHD cuz that what my father wanted me to do. but now suddenly he wants me to pursue something which i am not even prepared and ready for, i never studied it. he has total control over everyone's life. i have fear of future, i'm agressive. my mother used to beat me with legs. , my father used to beat me for my mistake when i was kid. my family used to beat me. but now suddenly most of them are kind but my father still downgrade me occasionally

It's like mind-reading. I identify strongly with most things listed here, but I have been working a lot on my issues the last couple of years, recently with a therapist, I switched my environment for a nurturing one, and I must say - it does help. I still fight the urge to please, I still project non-existent unfounded condemnation on nearly everyone I meet, and I fight back tears from the most benign situations during any day. but it does feel like the burden is getting lighter, day by day.

I cant hurt innocent animals or people for that matter but the rest of this describes me
My step mom was the abuser
She crushed me and my dad
Dads dead now. I dont have anyone to trust anymore. My best friend was killed a year and a half later by his kids
Now I just wish I wasnt here
I wont do anything to myself for the welfare of my animals but I hate myself and my shitty life. I cant fix it

My mother abused me in every way possible. Ive suffered severe depression, still deal with severe anxiety, alcoholism, I was suicidal and still healing. My daughter changed my life for the better and Im raising her totally opposite from the way my mother raised me. I thank god I grab the strength to understand and realize that it wasnt normal or ok and to love my daughter better than my mother loved me.

As a daughter who has been abused from her own mother, I suffered from depression on my teenage days. My mother is one of the many reasons I have lost many friends. I remember one time, she ranted to my own adviser of how of a bad child I am, I noticed how she does not like being trash talked by me when her, herself trash talks about me, even to the closest people I know. Hypocritical, right?

I told my bf about what happened between me and mom 4 years ago, I always said to him that I was at fault, and he couldn't believe it, he said what my mom has done was too much for only doing a small mistake, I said many times and defending my mother, how much I denied this video, but sometimes. It felt wrong defending mom, but it also feels wrong to call her my abuser

Most, if not all, of these symptoms apply to me. I dont think my parents are abusive to me. Yes theyre strict but it couldnt of gone any other way. I figured I just have these symptoms because I have anxiety or some other undiagnosed disorder that I have no other choice to suppress or deal with. Is there some other reason why I feel the ways that I do?

My mother father constantly compare me nd me sister they clearly tell me that they hate me. I always feel like crying nd just want someone to understand nd hear me. they know that whenever they scold or compare me for no reason I feel hurt but still they keep doing the same shit again nd again thinking that they are doing a great job. ahh

When I hear of people claiming to be perfectionists, I get instantly annoyed and would avoid any association with them. However, as I got to listen to them, they shared about their emotional abuse past and that's what made them to be who they are. They put on a confident front but very insecure inside.

I am tho only boy my mother had, my mother thinks that I'm in some kind of dept with her so according to her I will have live with her even during adulthood, when I say that I also have a life and plans for the future she tends to put me down and not support me.
reply

Just a reminder to all the victim, don't blame yourself, don't low yourself down, it is not your own fault you are like this, it is your parent who made you like this
I am still blaming myself and also lowering myself at least i can support someone while im down

3 - 10 really struck to the bone! Today I finally realized one of my parents is an extreme gaslighter. AND HONESTLY I NEVER FELT MORE BETRAYED IN MY LIFE. I just wanna move out as soon as possible. even at the age of thirteen I already started planning leaving.
reply

Is there anything to be done about emotionally abusive parents? I have no other family Id be able to live with and I cant move out yet. Is there like a foster care option? Weve been in family therapy for months and they just dont change. Anyone have advice?
reply

Funny becuase my parents and my sister who has moved out dont talk what so ever. Sister told me from a young age to be quiet and take their shit. I dont talk around them and feel empty when they are near so i dont feel their anger
reply

I love animals and wd never hurt them, and have a lovely circle of friends the other things describe me tho. Very low self esteem until my 50s when I started healing still dont really know who I am tho and was a big ppl pleaser
reply

I am the child of abuse, mental and emotional. My mom was abused so much that she suffered hearing impairment in her right ear, that doesn't justify what she did and don't even get me started on dear old dad.
reply

Its really funny because my parents laugh at how i feel like the unloved child. The next week when my parents left me with my grandparents, they asked me if i was ok, and how they see favoritism in my family
reply

Most of them describe me alot. i can feel it. i did try to talk to my parents about it once but they ignore it. they said i'm been too emotional and weak. i can't open my feeling to anyone after that
reply

I don't know why my mother yells at me for no reason even a simple scentence she says to me with a high tone that i about to cry and sometimes she talks to me really nice sweet and lovingly
reply

I think I have been and at 40 my father still has no respect for my boundaries nor my wife's. I realize i need to reclaim my life while I still can i just have no idea how to start.
reply

Oh! Great, my suspicions are only further confirmed.
I tried talking about my family and when i mentioned a few things that bother me that i thought was normal my friends flipped out.

reply

I seriously don't understand how people actually make and maintain healthy and supportive relationships always something completely unobtainable for me and probably always will be
