Once during an after school activity (mostly an after school study hall) my best friend and I was at a vending machine getting snacks and my stomach started to hurt a little to the point where I reacted by basically bowing while holding my stomach and my best friend decided to do little small quick scratches on the back of my shoulder and asked does this help? And is it helping? That was a kind of small touches type of thing.
P. s. it did help a bit because it distracted me from my stomach hurting a bit

reply

Okay- so the moment I saw small touches, I felt happy because I have a cousin that lives in California and I only see him during thanksgiving, usually when Im tired or seem upset he gives me a small pat on the back or head and honestly it makes me very happy and I know that I definitely bond with him, hes more of like a brother to me. Little things like these can make a person feel every nice, safe, and comforted, especially with me since most of the time I get stressed or anxious easily

All of these are great! Well, all but #1.
Crossing your arms is actually a self-soothing method. The toughest people, such as bosses and leaders, cross their arms more frequently. This is because deep down, they are scared. When someone crosses their arms, it may SEEM like they're armoring themselves because they always seem so tough, like a shield or a sword, but it's really more like a one-person hug.
Keep up the great work, Psych2Go! (My favorite of these was #19)

I hate handshakes. Everyone has a different idea of what different levels of firmness means. But they also claim my method of reading handshakes is universal when its not. Knowing I'll be judged on my handshake performance, using unknown invisible standards causes me massive panic. Resulting in a need to avoid them altogether.
Death to the handshake. Power to the fist bump.

I realized something
If Im interested, my eyebrows lower with eye contact and sometimes cover my lips with a fist, but rarely lean towards/away; however, only my legs are tilted towards what is interesting what does that mean?
If Im not interested, then EITHER my eyes are slouching or my body is slouching and only my legs are straight, but tilted away

5: 07 actually many people say this but as a greek I want to say that we don't have it the other way around. It's different. We can do a movement from side to side as a yes, but it's not the same movement. and we also do a movement upwards but it's not repeating, just like the first I said. They're just one small movement idk how to explain it

My friend sent me this to help me with school. Im autistic and i struggle with all of these on a daily basis. I do alot of them without thinking because I am too focused on talking or listening to notice how im positioned while having a conversation

I just realized that mirroring is true! I initiate it a lot especially to a stranger, and those who are with me always also has my qualities already, like my voice, even my eyes shape, and the way I am, I could see it to some.

as a bulgarian we have it both but use the opposite a lot aswell when we disagree and want to say something like tsk we nod when we agree and want to say yeah yeah we shake our head to the sides
reply

No. 5: Direct eye contact. (1: 39)
Meanwhile me: Can't even look at his eyes properly, though I can listen to him all day. ( because looking into his eyes makes me blush a lot )

One thing that would be cool, is seeing different body language meanings for people with ASD. It might be interesting to see the differences, because there are differences.

Crossed Arms - Means you are defensive.
Nope. Just means I dont know what to do with my arms and crossing them is the most comfortable way of dealing with them

reply

Crossed arms has been incorrectly used as a tell all definition closed off from the conversation. Crossed arms can mean many things. Not to be used at work.

I'm from Bulgaria and I actually don't shake my head like this, but some people did and it's little hard to understand them, even that I'm from here.

For me being stiff is connected to being nervous and/or being uncomfortable (as in being in an uncomfortable situation)
