Has anyone ever told you that youre too nice? Being too nice can hurt you in a lot of ways you may not even realize. When people say youre too nice, it most likely means youre too much of a pushover. Are you too selfless, too trusting, and too self-sacrificing? If youre not careful, you can be easily fooled and manipulated, blinded by your own good nature. People who are too nice tend to have a hard time standing up for themselves or doing whats best for them because theyre so preoccupied with being agreeable and easy to get along with. To help you become more aware of your tendencies, we've created this video to help you identify the struggles you'll probably face when you're being too nice. If you related to this video but you're still unsure whether you're too nice, we've also made a video on the signs you're too nice for your own good

This is from childhood conditioning. Be nice, be lady like when I would show negative emotion, invalidated. people dont like that, that's the devil, that's ugly, I dont like that, stop crying. my reputation was about being nice. I identified as nice. I was a people pleaser. I knew nothing else. Bullied, backstabbed, walked all over. Even by my own family. Led me to all types of abuse by my boyfriend at the time at 15 in my sophomore year of high school. Learned so much about myself and about true love. 17 going on 18 in a few months now and I'm so much higher than I was before. I even learned how to have a healthy romantic relationship with my twin flame. Health in general is one of my top values. I know how to give and take. I have become my number one priority without being too closed off and selfish. I've Learned, unlearned, even going through a spiritual journey. And got real friends I consider to be my soul family. There is still so much more to life and to think I wanted to die at such a young age. Shout out to Tupac because Roses really do grow from concrete. I am living proof. You can do it too. If you dont think nobody believe in you, mf I BELIEVE IN YOU. For real. Everyone can grow, it is your birth right. Everyone can learn, unlearn, wake up, and work to heal their demons. If your demon is named Too Nice like mine is, know that you have the power to tame it and use it to your advantage. I love you. Be well. Remember that only you are responsible for where you are in life and only you can change it if you're not satisfied.

I had all of those problems from childhood to adolescence. I helped other students with their classwork or revision notes. I had no problem helping my classmates. But when they started copying off my homework, stealing my phone and pencils, making me do their homework, buying things for them, and making me skip health class to hang out with them, it became clear that they were taking advantage of my good nature and using it against me. It got to the point where everyone seemed to want something from me.
I was too naive to realize that they only stuck around as long as they needed something from me. I accepted every request they gave to me and did everything they asked of me, no matter how unwilling, uncomfortable, or frustrated I was.
I started to resent them and became overwhelmed, and I kept to myself for most of the time I was in school, with my parents even setting up an emotional chart because I wasn't talking. My self-esteem was crippled and I nearly lost my identity. I didn't tell anyone what was happening because I didn't want their perception of me to change. I was left alone once I had nothing more to give to them. I had even become numb at one point. I was too blinded by my own good nature to realize that they were using it to get what they wanted. I was too scared to tell my parents and teachers what was going on, because I was so afraid of retaliation. I accepted every request they gave me, no matter how unwilling or uncomfortable I was, to the point where I slowly started to become resentful.

I was told to be nice all the time apparently it was already in me. my cousin. she. Used me and copied my work and even asks me to draw for her modules. I mean it's okay but she's been copying almost my whole answers and she has wifi! (In the Philippines when we don't have wifi we go to a store and paload so we can have data) she could've just do it herself, on her own but she always comes to me like I'm some kind of right answer machine. my grandma knows about it and said I should stop it. my grandma even told my mother, because the day when grandma told me I was too nice was my modules we're missing and I know I left it at my cousins house. they denied it was there like they're hiding it, but at least I still finished all that in 1 day cause i asked to borrow my classmates book and stuff. I never wanted to go to my cousins house ever again. Cause she just do TikTok all day, my grandma and mom even did told me I was too nice

There's this girl I knew for a long time. I saw her recently at a Christmas party I went too. I was just playing on my phone and she came up to me. She asked if she could use my hotspot since her phone is booty. I said yes cause it was a simple thing to do. Theeeeen a few moments later, she saw me playing subway surfers. She asked if she could play. Again I said yes cause it wasn't a big deal. But I had to draw the line when she stared wasting my keys to redeem her dieing. She didn't even freaking ask if she could use it. I grinded for that shit. But I didn't say anything cause I didn't want to sound rude about it. Plus she's so nice to me and it makes me feel bad.

I usually act as the counselor for one of my friends and didnt believe my other friends when they claimed he was taking advantage of me I finally had to force myself out of the situation when my other friends named the many times he would ditch me as soon as I helped him it sucks when I realized he wasnt such a great friend

When Im too afraid to say no to hanging out with my friend, I just make up lies as to why I cant go instead of just saying that I want to rest and take time for myself. I know she probably would appreciate the honestly, but I cant help but think that she would be mad at me if I told her the truth.
reply

I started trying to be straightforward. If I'm upset just I'm a bit upset something bad is happening well, this is upsetting you don't have to hold it in then get mad seemingly out of nowhere. Just be completely honest. If someone is pushing your boundaries I'm really not a fan of this

Woah slow down. Just because I forgive everyone doesnt mean I trust them. I forgive them because I dont need a grudge weighing me down like an anchor. Id rather let the problem fade out of existence like the past instance the spawned it in the first place. Emphasis on the word past

This is so true
I remember when I dated almost all the people that has a crush on me even though I have no feelings for them.
I do all the tasks.
All the pressure comes to me.
When people vent to me I always say Come by anytime and when I'm busy I can't turn them down

My friend is too nice. He always do things for his friends even thought he doesn't want to. Sometimes his friends would just ignore and pretendly forgot about the good things that he does. I want to cheer him up but I don't know what to do. :'( he is sort of a people pleaser.

People who are not close to me call me a kind and patient angel but if i start saying no to them, act a little upset or show my opinions to them they distance themselves from me which is sad. I'm lucky i have friends that i can be open to without hurting any of them.
reply

Thinking that being nice is a fault is ridiculous. The fault belongs to other people for exploiting you. You should never have to second guess yourself if you want to be nice. However, people are just naturally terrible people anymore and apparently that's normal now.

i am feeling bad because i was too nice with a guard, and he asked my number. of course i said no, but i got really mad of getting to this point. i shouldnt be that nice in the first place and something bad could have happened. im scared to see him again somewhere.
reply

Being too nice will make people step on you at every opportunity.
It's good to be nice to people, but there are limits to it, and when that one nice individual reaches its limit, you're gonna regret it so much.

I have one question I hope that can be asked why do I not sleep at night but then once sleep during the day I stay up all night on a device then and the day it's like take a long nap no matter how long it is
reply

That's why I have fake friends because I can't say no even if It hurts my feelings I always say yes because I don't want to disappoint them and I can easily forgive others even if it's there fault.
reply

What I do is usually treat people how they treat me, but a lot of them call me jerks for that. Little do they know.
Besides that when I meet someone nice, I treat them how I want to be treated.

I'm nice(or what they say) but I don't trust much - _- I might treat you as a friend but I don't trust you like the way you trust me. Heck my friends don't even know my favorite color.

Fear of speaking my mind, being to nice and not asserting myself, being unable to express my emotions around people, and social anxiety all empower each other and wow it's some trash

Why I'm like that. Just asking by my side why
A girl cheated me. For her emotional stability and nothing else and I'm not even. Have that idea to say why you've done that. Why?
