I get angry at them and cut some off. Blow them away with my thoughts of them and telling them how bad minded they are. I'm literally telling them it won't work on me but if it is a case where they want me to get angry and blow steamy. I just don't acknowledge them because I know they want me to be sad or angry. I don't give them that satisfaction. Neither will I fight and get myself in trouble to please anyone. That is exactly what they want. Resist the devil and his temptation and he will flee from you. I only blow off a steam if they screw me over and I fine out. But if they come to insult or talk bad about me in my presence. I'll just laugh them off discreetly because you can't let them know you are acknowledging their actions. You have to let them see and know they are there talking and giving trouble but you don't give a rats ass about their presence. Why you can't let evil people corrupt you. You may end up In jail or some big trouble even God may get angry at you. You must resist them for yourself's sake to keep a sane frame of mind.

i want to open this up, i have no one to talk about this. why do i feel like i'm a slave to my gf, like why am i doing everything for her but she doesn't do the same to me. and whenever she likes something, ill get it for her immediately. but when i want something like doing a simple favor such as playing a video game with her, she doesnt want to. if she doesn't want it, she really doesn't want it, she will never do it for me. but why? when i want to do something like spending my own time with myself, she agrees but her words has doubt energies like idk man it feels so uncomfortable. :(

So true, all of those who may be manipulative aren't exactly always practicing bad behaviors. though it is a very slippery slope in which they operate from. Almost every time I hear, gaslighting, I think narcissism or narcissist. Manipulators are extremely good at changing the subject when the blame remotely sounds like it's pointed towards them. Being defensive and Blame Shifting may be the aftermath if the aforementioned happens. Silence (in some cases) is possibly the most powerful tool, when we become aware of whom we're dealing with.

Silent Treatment is the worst. A girl would always go into that mode everytime some conversation wouldn't go her way and then like a fool i would try to understand why she does that and tell her it's unless and dumb but she didn't care and then once i reacted with jokes (instead of trying to understand like i used to and thus being in a weak position) when she started Silent Treatment and then she said i was mean to her and that she didn't want to talk or see me anymore.
That i a had ruined the whole relation.

reply

I am one guilty of silent treatment. I feel like I would rather not talk if I still have intense feeling about something like in an arguement and I know I am going to say things that are not nice or would hurt the other person so usually I just shut down and process my thoughts and emotions and when I am ready then I would talk. Its not because I am trying to manipulate or control someone but I am trying to control myself. Is that bad? If it is, then how do I deal with heated confrontations?

Half of these things could be said about a lot of people these days. Using sympathy or a cause to better their own self interests and even get certain people hurt, or worse. Manipulators not only come in groups, but they can vary on how dangerous they are. This is mostly coming from experience as manipulators become more and more dangerous as they move up in so hierarchy and even spread their ideals and mannerisms to others. Its like a fire, it spreads until its all consuming.

Prospecting is very important. If someone continuously asks you uncomfortable or even controversial questions that catch you off guard, it is not because they are a weird and quirky. Its because through questions that cross your boundaries, theyre trying to see how defensive you are. I had a guy continuously ask about very personal things whenever we were alone, after a while I noticed he was just trying to see how easy I would give in.

Id love more videos on the manipulators or toxic people themselves, often times it seems like a picture is being painted that theyre all terrible human beings who are just out to hurt people, but a lot of times we arent. It would actually help and mean a lot if you were to make more videos not on things like signs youre being manipulated but things like signs youre being manipulative as not everyone notices and/or knows how to change.

I kinda do the second one but that's because i sometimes have a hard time understanding others, even my closest friend, so I try to analyze their behavior whenever they come to me to rant about something. To them I might be a good listener, but I genuinely just want to know how they act so I can predict what they would do next, so I can know what to say or what to do for them in the future.

I am trying to understand and realize that being manipulated by negative people with their toxic behavior. Honestly, You got to break free from their negative influence and find your peace of mind, happiness, and unconditional love for yourself. Besides, You can't be afraid of you're hurting at. These manipulated people will try to block you from reaching your healthy place.

I don't know if this comes across to anyone else but the vocal fry used almost as a lilt really makes listening uncomfortable, it adds nothing authoritive or attractive to the presenters voice, but detracts from the message. Not ment to hurt anyones feelings, just constructive criticism you need your message to be clear before style. Thanks for all your hard work.

number 6, something that should not be confused. there is a diffrence between a manipulat doing a silent treatment to puhsich or manipulte, vs. permanent silent treatment AKA no contact becasue often no contact is the only thing they will understand to get them out of your life for good. but the diffrence is it it is to ge them to leave you alone.
reply

I can't say I haven't manipulated anyone, but it was for a good kind of reason
I don't want to be alone, most of my past friends left me so I started manipulating others so they can stay with me. I don't want power or money, just some friends who stay by my side
of courses, I think of them as true friends and I stop my behaviour.

Can you say theirs I stead of his or hers? There are many gender non conforming people (like me) out there. there are thousands of pronouns that arent he/him/his she/her/hers. There are also neo pronouns and many others. Instead of saying every single set of pronouns ever, you can just use they/them/their/theirs/themself
reply

Completely disagree with the silent treatment. You just can't speak to some ppl all they do is repeat themselves over and over take no accountability for anything and a steady diet of ur past. Imo should be included in these titles so ppl can understand these types of videos are not facts
reply

Another way that manipulators operate is to pressure you into accepting something - like coffee or some useless object - that you dont want. If you stand your ground with polite refusals, they gaslight, alleging rudeness on your part. Its maddening, as I can say from experience.
reply

In my experience my wife and I have alot of these same behaviors but i don't believe either one is doing it n purpose or to control anything. I've done alot of work on myself and so has she, this programming runs deep from childhood, and it takes a lifetime to undo it.
reply

I feel like I do number 3 a lot out of an unconscious fear of not being smart enough myself, so internally feels nice to know something that others don't but in my perspective at the time I feel like I'm helping by teaching something.

My ex would tell me I said things wrong and Id offend him. He studied English at Uni, I did not. He analysed everything I said like he was gonna write an essay on how there are hidden meanings in my words. Stressed me out so much.
reply

There's a line between leadership and manipulation. Most of these can be signs of either, depending on the degree to which they are used. Definitely good to be aware of, and thanks for the caveat at the beginning.
reply

My question is though, even though someone could be doing this doesn't intention matter. Like they could be doing some of these things and not meaning to. Does that still make them a bad person
