Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (or ADHD, for short) is a condition that affects your focus. It can make focusing on everyday tasks and routines challenging. For years, people with ADHD were labeled as lazy, procrastinators, flaky, or irresponsible. These labels only produced shame and prevent those with ADHD from seeking help. To help reduce the stigma, we made this video!

to all of them but I'm also diagnosed so no wonder: D still, I love to watch these videos and to feel related to.
Important to notice is that it's not always ADHD/ADD but the way you grew up or something else. So please don't diagnose yourself! When you feel you might have it and it makes your life feel problematic like you really struggle with it, you should try and see a psychiatrist. Not everyone knows about ADHD yet, there are a few that specialise in it and I warmly recommend to find them and talk to them: ) Even more a reminder to just do it even though hardly anyone else would say that. ADHD is hard to diagnose because it overlaps with many different psychological problems or character traits and it's hard to differenciate (especially when it's ADD. Whether you have it or not, don't give up on yourself (or if you do, you can get to the nice part of life you deserve)

I'm pretty sure I may have adhd. Because since I was a kid I just realised I kind of showed symptoms of adhd and still do but my parents just chalk it up to my laziness and always compare me to my cousins and my brother. I am always seen as a person who is really slow when I try to be like everyone else but I can't. Like I'm always a 2nd option if it comes to do some things. Like if someone has some work and I am standing right in front of them they'd give me the work but then if my sister, brother or any other family member comes they would instantly give them the work and it makes me feel like I'm not at all responsible and am useless. I just need to convince my parents to take me to doctor so I can understand what's going on and get a proper diagnosis since it can help me a lot

I'm 30 now. I was diagnosed with ADHD in middle school. I never really looked into it. It was just some lable adults slapped onto me like everything else but I do wonder a lot about why I do the things I do. I wonder like while I'm trying to fall asleep or drive but it never made sense I will sit there and scold myself on things I did like say the day before then continue to do those aweful things day after day. I never knew this was a symptom. It makes sense really when you think about it.

I may get distracted.
I may can't concentrate.
I may make mistakes all the time.
I may forget everything.
I may look like an idiot.
But I will always shape my surroundings in such a way, that I am able to do it. Self pity doesn't interest me. I'll write everything down, I'll set alarms to remember me, I'll use every tool and technology and I'll do everything that science has to offer.
I accept myself and my struggle.
And I will succeed.

Something that made me chuckle a bit inside is that I was losing my focus by paying attention to the animation of the person with the butterfly and thinking through their situation, rather than listening to what you were saying, continuing to confirm my suspicions, lol.

Would you ever do a video on tic disorders that often accompany ADHD? Ive struggled and suffered with them since I was 10, they normally cause excessive anxiety which then causes more tics. Its a really hard thing to live with.
