Do you have a specific concept for a mature person? In psychology, maturity is described as a persons ability to respond to a situation or environment in an appropriate way. There are many cases where people of a certain age group act in a way much more mature than whats expected of that age group. Here are a few ways to know whether you're mature than others. Need tips on how to be emotionally mature? We have a video on that as well

My family doesn't think I'm very mature because I don't have any life experiences and I don't really act my age which is 21 and yet I still act like a kid or teenager a lot of the time because of how I dress and act, but I beilve I'm more mature than what my family thinks, mean just because I don't have a job, no money, I can't really cook, I can't really do my hair, I don't know how to do laundry, I've never had to do chores and I'm hesitant to try new things that benefit me, I relie on my family for pretty much everything and a whole bunch other adult stuff that people have told me over and over again throughout the years that I've gotten sick of hearing by now and don't really like talking about, but sometimes I have to suck it up and deal with it. But you know what? Just because their right doesn't mean I don't know how to do things, I just take everything one step at a time, that's all I can do, I know how to cook certain things, I know how to fold clothes, I know how to brush my teeth, take baths/showers, I know how to brush and comb my long hair, I'm doing things for myself that I think are productive even if it's not making money, I do artwork, videos and stories because that's what I love doimg, I'm not in it for the money. But also I learn differently from everyone else so learning to do adult for me will take some time but I'm doing it and you lnow, I'm pretty proud of myself for at least attempting to act my age.

Some signs I've had of maturity:
You take time seriously, 0: 37 - I'm NOT AFRAID to take the time to do the things I need to do.
I have this feeling that if I CARED MORE I would ACHIEVE LESS, which can seem pretty counterintuitive to people, but it can only feel so backward if I already have the strong belief that if I put time and effort into something, I will have achieved more. So, I feel like any further reiteration of that fact would lead to a lot of anxiety (See if the same thing is happening to you.
Sometimes, CARING LESS can help you ACHIEVE MORE.
Sometimes when you are hesitant to take responsibility, sometimes it's smarter to reiterate to yourself the primary function of the human brain rather than how important it is for your PRACTICAL LIFE to handle your responsibilities (You have both a practical and spiritual life. This is so that you'll look at your brain as your own tool rather than your slave master.
So, simultaneously,
You embrace responsibility, 1: 09
You respect every opinion without taking any of them as an attack on your character, 1: 43
You are in charge of your emotions, 2: 14
Your career matters to you, but not too much, 2: 51
You focus on self-improvement, 3: 33
You have no expectations, 4: 06

What an ironic title. You know what is childish and unmature? Competition as a mindset. Trying to be More than others and/or checking if they are less something than you. Specially when it comes about personal values. Imagine hanging out with a friend and finding out that while they're listening to you they are collecting the characteristics in which they surpass you because it makes them feel good about themselves. Not very nice, isnt it? Honestly I recommend doing self improvement based on what you think is important in life and not focusing that much in everyone else's result.

People say that I'm mature then my age. and i think that's my speciality and I'm grateful for that. I've experienced the things at teen shouldn't. mental trauma and other stuff. But you know i understand people and I'm a good listener. being mature is not being mean ignoring and disrespecting other. it's bout being understanding grateful kind sweet respectful and alert. Why alert? Bcoz you have to know when and how to act you know how people are and how to be distend with them. you treat yourself better than before. you start loving yourself. that what makes you mature

I feel that I cant do anything on my own. I still need some help from my parents but not a lot. Sometimes Im forgetful and I cant pack the right clothes for a vacation (we go on vacations a lot. My mom keeps telling me that even though I am making good grades in college, I dont think that matters. I dont think Im ready for a few things but I think Im ready for others. I feel crippled a lot because I know my friends have more responsibility than me.

You should make a video on Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, I have it and feeling out of control while also in control at the same time made me feel like i was going insane, and seeing RSD and the signs line up made me feel like Im not alone, which I usually feel I am because of how uniquely I react and deal with things compared to others. My psychiatrist never even heard of RSD, and I feel awareness about it should be spread

#7 is something I've been saying for YEARS. I have low expectations of oncoming events or tasks. That way, im not surprised by the worst case scenario, but over-joyed by even the slightest unexpected positivity.
Hopefully that doesnt make me sound like a pessimist, I love everything I have and do. Just, I expect little and am pleased by positive outcomes.

Im feeling down rn but fr whats the point of being more mature among others who dont? It always make me feel exploited and taken advantage of. Its already so hard being aware of my feelings, flaws and stuff. But in the end its just me not liking this world. I honestly feel like I wasnt meant for this world. Please help me feel better

Please i have a 68 year old aunt that acts like a child when she dont get her way.
Pleeease I have a 50 year old cousin that acts like a teen and refuses to take responsibility for her actions.
Pleeeeese age has nothing to do with maturity, you can be 34 and try to be like a wise old man and not be in with the crowd.

One question. I do respect every opinion that people have, except opinions that are not true at all. For example: My Aunt thinks that Videogames cause violence and turn people into murderers. I do not respect her Opinion, because it's just not true at all. Is it still considered as mature or not?

Who am I, if I run from responsibilities, but not from taking them, but from getting them. I try not to be responsible of too much, but if I am already responsible of something - I will take it with all seriousness, and do my best to get everything people want me to do, done.

Yg banyak cuma sok dewasa siih.
Pdhl kekanak2an bgt kl gak responsible, toksik tukang fitnah, suka manfaatin org lain & seneng cari muka gitu
Kindness is more priceless, more than pride or money.
But their didn't. They'r not mature just feel mature enough

Question: If me and my 2 other friends are playing a teamwork obby / game and they keep quarreling about space and pushing each other off, while I try my best to keep calm and break up the fight, does it make me more mature or am I overthinking it?
reply

So me and my friend have a friendly fight about whos more mature, and wen I watched this I saw that it do all but one of these things.
One side of me is like i should be nice and leave the fight alone
The other side is like
I told you so

reply

most of these apply to me, i always felt like im more mature and more emotionally mature than most of my high school and it kinda sucks sometimes because they dont know how to act when i do and i cant truly connect with anyone except a few

It is true that is better to have no expectations of others. It is however easier said than done. It really is painful when you find out that you cannot count on people that you thought you could. That is one of lifes lessons.

These signs really define my life when I was in the process of changing majors after volunteering at a business that helped shaped my character. I'll be able to finally graduate by the end of this school year.
reply

Damn I was hoping I was a mature 19 year old but I guess Im not really: ( The only one I do regularly is care about how Im doing at my job even when its temporary. Everything else I need to work on a little bit.
reply

what i do
-take time seriously
-respect every opinion (unless it hurts certain people)
-i am in charge of my emotions
-taking my job seriously (even hating to)
-no expectations

reply

i would argue that maturity is realizing that any way you choose to spend your time is beautiful because you are the reason you are alive, and any way that you choose to live is acceptable
reply

I agree with no. 3 (listening to everyone's opinion) and no. 7 (keeping no expectations from others) myself. I also want to do the other 5 but find it difficult to encourage myself to.
reply

5 1/2 /7 I take time seriously but tend to not be able to manage it due to mental issues and I embrace some responsibilitys not all my mental capacity is not large enough
reply

The only expectation for my friends that I have is that they will text me because Im currently trying to keep in contact with them without loosing their contact
