I'm pretty sure I'm a narcissist. I lie to seem more capable than I am, (working on fixing that by getting the skills I tend to claim I have)
I compulsively lie when confronted even if the truth is easier to explain. I don't think I just throw something out there and hope.
I don't think super highly of myself, but I'm quick to defend myself if I think my character is attacked
I cannot empathize. I emotionally disconnect when I speak to people, so I struggle to communicate, and empathize
Also the moment I was told I was a narcissist, I started using it as an excuse for my shortcomings
I don't know how to fix any of this. I know it exists and that there's more, but not how to actually solve my problems
I'm definetly not a full blown narcissist which means I can change. I see my flaws, and I don't blind myself into thinking they're good for me. But I also struggle to care enough to put fourth effort especially in the moment to fix things.
The one who uploads these videos tells a lot about identifying a narcissist but does not seem to address how to change if you are one.
Maybe its because a narcissist would become better at manipulating and hiding if they knew what traits were giving them away. I can say I'm terrible at manipulation and as a victim of it combined with childhood trauma, if I realize that I've done that, I put an end to it.
Anyone know what I can do? I'm currently looking into therapy to see if I can change. I'm 18 so its going to be hard, but I don't think I'm locked in yet. I'm still developing and learning

I would love to manipulate someone selfish into a position where they must help people or end up in a worse position then where they started but sadly I can't do that with any degree of certainty, I am more likely to be caught setting the trap, I also can't use my charisma that effectively especially since I stutter and forget what to say to get what I want due to my mind going 10000 miles an hour while speaking, and I am also more likely to be manipulated myself although I am quick to notice something doesn't seem right 9 times out of 10, my example is the iilluminaughtii drama which I believe I got out the quickest once the other side had better evidence then she did, this skill I will call has been honed when iilluminaughtii (ironic isn't it) talked about pregger u and how bad they were and that made me get rid of them as they were already hated and for good reason I am sure there are some that were sooner but I can't think of any really.

I believe I have some dark empath traits and i have worked in some way with a narcissist. And we had one empath friend. She and the empath could tolerate each other. But i swear, I swear I could not stand her for long.
That person was unbearable, and I genuinelly struggled to fake my friendship with her. We just couldn't tolerate each other, she wanted attention, and I needed other things. And I can tell you, she hated when I was stealing the spotlight and I hated when she treated me like an idiot.
Eventually we got tired of eachother and she broke our friendship and abandoned our other friend. I didn't really care since she was kind of annoying and not that useful.
I am kind of trying not to be a bad person, but i still have some trouble. Don't ask me what happened to that narcissist, I really don't know anything about her since she blocked me-

as a dark empath i was friends w a big narcissist for funsies. I think i had befriended them because of how egotistical he was and how i could relate to him in certain ways like him being able to speak his mind and me just feeding off tht. i mean if we weren't arguing, we were laughing. It was a 50/50 relationship but i dont think i could ever talk to someone like that ever again. I genuinely feel like it made me a worse person being around them. i dont think i ever did care about his feelings because i knew how self centered he was. he would only talk about how better he was and well to a degree i did consider him a good friend but i dont think it would've worked out in the long run. i had the best laughs with him if im being completely honest but with tht also came a lot of anger.

The difference between a dark empath from what I currently know is like the difference between a psychotic person and a psychopath, they have a bit of similarities but as you learn more about both and get to the end of the line they branch so far off that I'd say they can't be comparable at all.

As an empath i have attracted only narcissists all my life, been hurt really bad but now if i come across one i attack back at them by showing what they lost and doing good in my personal life in their absence.
