I am a bit confused, how is intelligent defined? Is this the definition or the symptoms. I have my idea of intelligent, and often is hasn't a positive connotation by per se, it passes by overthinking and self-doubt, and often demotivation and unproductivity due to a mismatch in the society. But that's my idea of intelligent, which is basically one who understand stuff in a deep way, and is able to put it into words. Of course curiosity is a part of it but that, with the ability to ise reason on it can go to pretty obscure places, and often the desire to understand, with the time and the energy the process consumes stops the intelligent one to do the actual thing, and that can start a downward spiral. The part about emotions is also interesting, to me the intelligent is one that can understand what's going on, but often the deeper understanding results in different outcomes and difficulty to empathise. For example if something mildly bad happens to a friend and he's devastated by this small thing i think that the intelligent understands what's going on, but has a very hard time empathising because the thing is actually nothing serious. Those things are what I get, and i consider myself somewhat intelligent but fastly degrading, and many of the people I know are much more intelligent than me and those things I said apply to all of them. But again maybe I mean something different with intelligence.

I must say that while some of these points are good, some seem weird to include, especially considering the title. It isnt like a less intelligent person cant take power naps, so that seems like a weird genuine sign of intelligence you cant fake. Like, if Im tired and doze of during the day, I guess that makes me intelligent, you just cant fake that you know.
And I get that its probably linked to some statistic about people who take naps during the day being on average more intelligent, but I do feel like even if there was such a statistic it could probably be explained by the fact that those in a life situation where they have enough time to take naps probably on average have higher education or better means of self realization. Meaning that less well-off people who have to works long shifts to make up for lower wages probably take less naps, and have had less opportunity to grow more intelligent.
I want to end by stating that I am not writing this to hate on the video, just wanted to share my take on it.

I am not so sure about number 2 and number 5 tbh. I work with a lot of people who would be considered extraordinarily intelligent and it is not uncommon for workplace disputes to carry out for many many days, weeks, or even months just as a result of neither party wanting to admit that they were the one who was incorrect. An example would be the time that two of my peers were tasked with making a presentation. During the presentation several slides and transitions were out of order. These two individuals get along fine but any time the presentation comes up they argue about who's fault the error was. This has been going for the past 2 years and I don't believe that either side will ever concede. These two are both some of the smartest people that I know.

Find me a job with remote work, then I can take a nap, too - with regular work? Not really, where would I take this nap? In the office? Yeah, too loud and I'd fall of the office chair if I somehow managed to actually fall asleep!
ps: Introvert guy here so yeah, an office is actually a torture chamber for me, especially since I also have ADHD - so I social interaction drains me, having to concentrate with other people around and their noise (not to mention ringing phones) also drains me - especially since ADHD-People lack the filter to be able to filter out minor distractions, so as to not be affected!

And yet, you spell CURIOSITY C-U-R-I-O-U-S-I-T-Y - yeah, right - we should REALLY listen to YOU, when it comes to gauging someones intellect - I knew how to spell that word correctly at 6 years old - but youre open-minded, so its okay, right (as if THAT is some sort of virtuous quality? Are you so open-minded as to actually believe that a man can get pregnant, like the modern-day political left claims? Do NOT confuse ignorance and an aversion to TRUTH with open-mindedness - there IS such a thing as absolute truth! I suggest you SEEK it!

I knew and was told by many that Im smarter than average, since Im super curious about EVERYTHING in existence and I always NEED to know the science behind it. I also try to knock logic into one minded people but am then labeled as always wants the spotlight TF IM TRYING TO HELP YOU BE A BETTER PERSON. Im constantly bullied for no reason but Ive gotten so used to it at this point, I dont even hear remarks

When there is this point knowing yourself I'm getting confused. Like. all other points? Right in point. It's exactly me! But. I don't feel like I 'know' myself. Rather than that, with every time I want to get to know with my inner me I feel overhelmed and mostly start to cry because of it.
It's this one and only thing, that I just don't know how to do because. because.

Ive never understood peoples desire to fit into the norm. For what is considered normal is ever changing and subject to human error. After all, wasnt slavery considered normal and acceptable by the people in that time period? Its not anymore so why bother trying to be something so arbitrary, illogical, and liable to change?

Power Naps has nothing to do with intelligence pontential but recharging. Your phone also runs longer if you put it onto charge for half on hour. Making a genuine sign you can't fake is. well, let's they who ever created it may be NOT on that side. :D

If a person understands someone's perspective as in, how or why they feel the way they do and deduce their thoughts and feelings; but is unable to empathize or feel the same way. Like be happy/sad seeing them happy/sad. Is that still a High EQ thing?
reply

Questions here?
Am i dumb if i think im intelligent or am i really intelligent if i think im intelligent, or is intelligent my own perspective of how i see things and copy other intelligent people or is it adaptation?

The larger the island of knowledge, the longer the shore of wonder. I know that I know nothing. Knowing that no matter what you know, you will still not know everything, but still are driven to know more - that's intelligence.
reply

The more intelligent somebody claims to be the less intelligent they really are. A genuinely intelligent person won't have to tell you how intelligent they're you'll know by talking to them and spending time with them
reply

Introverts if someone doesn't give you value for being an introvert let them be you don't really need them and same goes for extroverts its not all about other people liking you it's about what you want
reply

While I do have almost all of these I dont really consider myself to be intelligent probably because its ingrained into my brain that what I achieve in school is only what matters which is depressing
reply

I have a friend who passes all of these with flying colors, is the smartest, most intelligent individual I have ever met, but is the laziest procrastinating mf I've also ever met. smh
reply

An intelligent person doesn't have to prove their intelligence, a kind person doesn't have to prove that they are kind, a smart person doesn't have to prove that they're smart
reply

I got 6/7. Power naps though? I drink too much coffee for that. I don't see how power napping is a sign of intelligence. Seems more like a productivity tip to me.
reply

like 4. 5 of them
half because not the witty part but i am sarcastic
open mindedness, acknowledging fault, sensitive to others feelings, high creativity

reply

So icheck all of the boxes except emotional intelligence because I am an emotional DUMBASS that has no idea how emotions work or what to do about them.
Great

This list is full of flowery yet empty claims. The very structure of this video is inconsistant with a lot of filler, to the point of frustration.

According to Mensa Finland's internet test I have iq of 133 and I do relate to most of these so. they should definitely make me the president: ) /hj
reply

I'm not sure whether I would include a person's habit of an afternoon nap as a determining factor as to whether they are intelligent or not.
reply
