I remember nowadays, with point number 2, I feel like I'm afraid to truly accept any compliments, though I think that's more because of something that happened when I was younger when I let a compliment go straight to my head. It was back in school over a decade ago, but I was enjoying reading aloud Macbeth in my English Class, and the teacher at the time said that the way I read it made me worthy of an Oscar. Looking back, I can see they were just trying to be encouraging, but when I heard that, ego was cranked up to 11 and I just couldn't let people forget, so much so that next time the school handed out awards, I was given a piece of paper with an Oscar statue to shut me up. I was an arrogant jerkass before that as well, but this massive increase in my ego must have made me unbearable to my classmates.
Eventually I learned to mellow out and not be so arrogant, so I did gain friends towards the end of my time in highschool, but since then I've been really leery about accepting compliments directed towards me, for fear that if I take those compliments to heart, I might very well go back to being that unbearable egotistic asshole I used to be in my school days.
Of course, the main downside of not taking the compliments and just excusing them with something has been that it, along with many other things, has left my self-esteem at practically rock-bottom levels. And it could just be me, but it feels like the negative things people may say about me feel a lot more true than the positive things, so I'm not sure how exactly to process that. At times it gets bad enough that I wonder if I'm nothing more than a waste of resources.

Hello, I just wanted to say that this was very helpful to know about. I know you just needed to use Arcane as to find something people can familiarise on or please the algorithm, but even if that were true, I won't try and question how much else goes behind the scenes of each video. I'm not expecting that you guys compile research on specific topics on mental health though as you guys pump up video after video every day (just to take no offense, I can understand why you would need to do daily uploads. In the end of the day though, if your videos helped multiple people, especially the younger audience, then I am glad you guys are doing this. I'm truly speaking as we need more people like this.

Honestly, I don't feel like brushing my teeth or taking a bath if I'm not going outside, and I don't really feel like going outside I don't know why, I feel like not making any efforts, but I feel guilty about it and when I really do something basic like brushing and going outside I actually feel good, but everything feels kinda I don't wanna do it or something like I don't know, but I feel happy talking to my loved ones and watching shows and that's what I try to do most of the time its like my guilty pleasure

I must admit that I didn't washed when I had a trauma. My peers bullied me calling me stinky and singing a song about soap, but I always washed and I never was dirty. But because of name calling I'm literally stopped to wash myself. I don't care what clothes I wear, did I have combed hair or brushed teeth. My mom didn't understand why I didn't want to take a bath and why I wear the same clother a few days in a row.

one day my boyfriend started to talk about his insecurities to me and asking me how do I love him, so. I said that don't matter what, I always will love him the way he is and don't need to push some conversations about his trauma if he's not ready to it. He starts crying after 2/3 years letting one single tear drop. He is so traumatized. I hope one day I could help him heal from the passed scars and build flores instead

I have traumas and Uncouncius traumas due to my past with a fighting family and always scared to go home and a Dad where i am scared of and the feeling your being followed and someone behind a corner Is there waiting to kill you. I occasionally get Panick attacks and start looking left or right and seeing figures in my eye corners. Am i going psychotic or is it my suffering?

That's one of the biggest reasons I like to crave myself with my nails until I bleed: )
Feels relaxing when I do and I am proud of my scars, because I feel like now they are finally a little visible for people to see that Im hurt and suffering, and now finally people will believe in me and show at least some respect for my pain: ')

This might be me but I'm not sure. My best friend of three years left me a couple months ago and even to this day anything that even REMOTELY makes me think of her makes me want to cry. Even just today like 3 months later when I found some old photos of us having fun together I broke down into sobs. Is this an emotional wound? any advice?

I disagree with the keeping up appearance indicator.
In fact it could be argued that excessive attention to preening oneself is a sign of narcissism.
Not ironing ones clothes or having neat and tidy hair is a sign that a person doesnt rely on external validation - nothing more.
Thats actually a very healthy thing.

My boyfriend recently hasnt been texting me this week, we will be talking tomorrow but this isnt normal for him and its completely out of the blue. Im thinking that hes overwhelmed about school and moving and just new life changes, but also some mental problems. Im really worried about him and please pray that I can help him

There are still some things that you aren't really allowed to have been traumatized by. You learn not to talk about them because you get verbally attacked for daring to say that they were hurtful. And people may say that you need to forgive or heal, but those words are code for stop saying that it was wrong.

Can being raised by a single mother who worked full time and only had time for your younger brother cause problems with trust and boundaries? I struggle to communicate and trust her as she wasn't there for me and left me alone when I needed her most. She didn't know I was depressed for a few months.

our planet is dying, we are raised to work our lives away and then die without accomplishing much, if anything. we think war is a natural/necessary occurrence, and nobody even knows what happens after death (probably nothingness for eternity. no wonder everyones mental health is shot.

I have bad hygiene habits and when I was in school I had multiple teacher's tell me I smelled bad. No one understood how much I was hurting and at the time I didn't know why I couldn't keep up with staying clean. I have a little more understand about it now but it's still kinda bad

When I was growing up my childhood was rough because after my grandmother passed away from lung cancer my mom and Dad got divorced and I really missed spending time with them because they had to work overnight and didn't have time to spend time with me

Recently I had a relatively small emotional wound but it caused a massive break since Ive been bottling up emotions for eight years, it was like piercing a heavily pressurized water bottle with a needle, any advice because Id really appreciate it

I relate to all of these as someone who has ptsd. Its very hard to live a normal functioning life when trauma is ruling your life, I barely even leave the house because of my trauma of being bullied and emotionally abused by people

My problem is I have been giving everything to someone that is supposed to protect me and care about me but would watch me burn while chugging a gallon of water.

As someone personally going through a good chunk of these issues firsthand: thank you. It won't help my personal situation but it can help others.
