I went through a period for about 6 months in 2017 where I was having depersonalisation/derealisation episodes every day relentlessly. For those that have never experienced it, it can feel absolutely terrifying especially when it seemingly starts out of the blue and even more so when you're unaware of it even being a thing. I remember I was sat at the back of class with 5 minutes before the end of the lesson, where I was zoned out - but when I snapped out of it, there was this feeling of disbelief that I was actually in that room with those people; almost as if it is just didn't feel real or as if it was happening. I remember this setting in an intense panic and even palpitations but didn't want to bring attention to it. This happened every day, every 5 minutes or so relentlessly without it every seemingly go away. You feel like you're no longer a part of the world around you and every thing seems like it's a dream or not real. The only time this stopped was when I was at home as it feels like a safe-zone (this is derealisation.
After a couple of months of this, I remember getting home and looking in the mirror, and it's as if my brain had wiped my memory of my own face - it felt like I'd never seen myself before. One of the most horrible experiences I've ever had. Sometimes I wasn't even listening to what someone was saying as I was worrying about this 24/7, but I'd still somehow respond fairly cohesively as if I was on autopilot. You often feel as if you're no longer in control of your self, whether that be physically or mentally (this is depersonalisation.
Thank you Psych2Go for bringing these symptoms to attention as I know how scary it seems for people who experience it for the first time. It's freaky, and you quickly begin to feel like you're losing your mind. You're not, it's just the brain being as fascinating as ever; everything will be ok. I've learnt to deal with it as it never fully goes away and I still occasionally have the odd episode at work here and there, but your brain learns to deal with it. Once you learn how it works and why it happens, it becomes a lot more manageable.

I feel like I made everyone made at me for saying something that I didn't mean to say at all. Sometimes words just slip out and it sucks. I have really bad anxiety and I feel like everyone secretly dislikes me now. I'm in marching band it is sometimes tough for me. Everyone else is having the time of their lives while I'm just here wondering if my thoughts connected to my anxieties are reality. I would never hate anyone at all. I love everyone in band. Band is my second family. I hope noone is spreading rumors about me. Help me. I'm scared. I'm scared to the point that certain songs I listen to are curses, which causes bad luck in the future. I'm not sure if it's true but if you have really bad anxiety, you don't know what's true and what's not. You don't know what to do anymore. You're scared what others think of you. You're scared you said something wrong to make the other person upset, but didn't know it was bad until hours later when you're thinking at night. And all that is what I'm going through right now. I feel like I'll never be satisfied. My first football game is in 2 days. I'm scared, I'm scared noone will care if I'm scared. I'm scared of being scared. I hate having anxiety. I want this curse to end. I want to be happy again. I want to be happy in marching band. Please help me. I'm scared. I'm really scared.

I have chronic pain issues which unfortunately is right next to my vital organs. Pain creates panic, and panic turns into this infinite loop cycle of fear. The only way to cope sometimes is to acknowledge it is out of your control. You wake up everyday and you carry your pain with you everywhere you go like a backpack. People around you are smiling living life normally but inside your body feels like a torture session and you have to pretend you are not in pain, because never do we open up our deepest darkest sufferings to strangers, we prefer to hide and conceal our physical and emotional stress. There is no one out there that will understand you because our suffering is very unique and only experienced by our body and mind. You have no options but to confront and carry on living life with the hand that has been dealt for you, sink or swim. Medications will not save you, they only mask the problem. You have to confront your own brain which ultimately means you have to confront yourself.

You know, I really enjoy these videos. I feel like Im better understanding mental illnesses and things of the sort as a whole better than I did before.
Also, my parents are first-time parents, and they have to deal with three of us at once. Plus, were the oldest of our close family, so no one else in our close family deals with teenage kids yet. I dont think they fully understand what to do and what it means for me to be struggling with my mental health. I know theyre trying their best, but I tend to just end up hiding it from them. They just dont know what to do or what I need from them. To be honest, I dont really know either. I keep having highs and lows, occasional suicidal thoughts(never more than that though, and bursts of anger.
I guess I just wanted to thank you all for making this type of stuff more accesible to more people around the globe. Keep up the hard work! You all are amazing. Both the content creators and the fans who watch their videos!

I get dissociate from myself when I dissociate from myself i can't feel my body i can't form a fist it's like a million needles are passing through my body I'm just stuck in a trauamtic event i can't get out of. Sometimes sweat starts running down my face and sometimes it brings me to a mental breakdown at that point i start hurting myself and think about suicide. It happens the most often at school. Sometimes i put a pencil to my hand and scratch it, i scratch my skin with my sharp nails until it cuts, or pinch myself really hard under the desk until i get bruises. Sometimes i look out the window and imagine what my life would be like if i lived in a safer environment with nicer parents. Then i come back to reality and remember what my life is really like
Me: starts shaking looks at hands and legs right. I'm still here i guess.

This entire video describes paranoia and stress.
Anxiety is fear of nothing.
You keep saying thoughts too.
The anxiety you're talking about happens to everyone on earth. Its not anxiety. it's human.
Anxiety is a feeling similar to watching a terrifying movie as a child, or the feeling you would get if someone was chasing you with a hatchet about to chop your head off and you're hiding trying to stay quiet with your heart bouncing.
That feeling. Not the thought. The physical feeling but for no reason.
You are terrified with no reasons or thoughts on your mind.
You could be thinking about sunny beaches and eating a nice meal but your body is freaking the absolute phuck out.
Absolute pure terror for no reason.
That's anxiety. But whatever, thanks for describing an average person's mildy stressful life

I've been wondering for a while if something that I often do/think could be related to anxiety:
A lot of times, after hanging out with someone or being told to do something I always second guess whether or not that really happened or not. I'm often hesitant to bring up events I had with friends just in case it somehow didn't actually happen and they'd think I'm crazy. I also always bring down an empty water glass whenever I am called downstairs by my family just in case I actually wasn't called downstairs and then I can still have a reason to be downstairs without randomly going downstairs and standing there awkwardly. Is this related to anxiety and/or could there be another reason I have this fear in the first place? I don't think anything has happened for me to fear this but idk TwT

My anxiety has branched out into so much: social anxiety, fear of being on the phone, fear of it being my turn in a card game, fear of being judged, fear of not being good enough, fear of being myself, fear of sometimes making eye contact, sometimes stuttering, talking too much or too little, sleeping too much or too little, doing everything fast (walking eating etc. And when I have an anxiety attack I sweat, shake, feel a drop in my stomach like a roller coaster. Its literally the worst and tho I havent been actually diagnosed, I think its fair to self diagnose bc none of this is normal and no one else in my family has it this bad

I have been struggling with extreme anxiety my whole life, low self esteem and extreme physical symptoms. What totally made me recovered was I started to have Faith (Christianity. I was born catholic but never believed nor had any religious education. I became evangelical(Protestant) a few months ago and have been facing a lot of personal and professional problems and now it gives me strength to move forward. While I wouldnt say you need to have faith in order to cure anxiety, trust me it does help. Just wanted to share my experience and hope you all find your way to ease any mental health issue you may face.

1: 52 the thought of going blind at times puts me in extreme anxiety. Having a genetic eye disease that effects the retina is not fun and if I am hit on the head hard enough, my retina can detach and can cause me to go fully blind. I only got one functioning eye because my other eye was lost to a botched eye surgery. The surgeon put to much gas in the eye which caused my eye to shrink and calcify. Rendering it completely useless to the point it is basically blind. So loosing my only good one eye is nightmarish for me and knowing that one mistake or hit on the head could render me blind. The thought truly terrifies me.

I have a question wha do u when u feel like ur best friend is always making time for other people but when u make plans with them they r always quick to cancel last minute they always say something about their parents is stopping them or something might have happen. She makes plans with me and I always do my best to go to her plans but when it's time for my plans she is a no show but then she claims she does want me around and that she does want to hang out with me when I did confront her about this should I just take the message and leave or stick it out with her?

i feel really bad whenever people do anything for me. even if i did something for them. for example, one time it was my birthday, and some of my friends got me gifts. i felt way too bad to open them infront of them or in general so i didn't. my mom insisted i did, i felt so bad, and another time when i was really young we could buy something we wanted from the store (with our uncles money) i bought something really small, because i felt so bad that since im a child i can't pay it back whatsoever.

I've always wanted to get out of my comfort zone, but I can feel the anxiety keeping me hostage.
For example, I want to go to a convention for the first time, but I have severe doubts about whether I should go or not, I've had a chat with my friend about it, but even then I'm still in an unknown.
This video truly reflects the issues I'm experiencing with mental health and I'm the progress of changing it for good.

'The two conditions have a lot in common, people with either or both disorders tend to have experienced a history of maltreatment or a difficult childhood. '
My anxiety has gotten worse over the years and recently have been struggling with depression as well. This video helps enlighten me a bit more as to why I may be struggling with this so much more. I'm glad we're not alone in this, thank you for the video. x

As someone who has struggled, not getting enough rest is a trigger for me. Several days of staying up to late on the computer or in front of the TV increases my risk. I do an hour plus of cardio 5 days per week, and lift weights a couple days. Exercise is BIG medicine when it comes to keeping stress at bay, and the long term benefits of exercise of are cumulative.

Anxiety is one of the most complicated things people experience. So many things are related to Anxiety disorders and it can be difficult to understand what you are struggling with.
For over a decade I've been convinced I have a severe anxiety disorder but I may actually be on the autism spectrum. A lot of the symptoms are similar.

Imagining the worst case scenario for everything but thinking you're just being realistic is a very common sneaky way anxiety can affect your mind. If you struggle with that, get outside perspectives, talk to a therapist, it takes some work but you can rewire your thinking and it's so worth doing!

The anger/irritability is something that I definitely could relate to but I never knew it could be linked to anxiety now I havent gotten an official diagnosis yet but it does make sense that may be thats what it is with me this whole time and I never paid it any attention

Sometimes I feel like I don't feel real For example: if I'm in a crowded public place or a nightclub or a party I feel cut off from reality but I don't understand what this is really about.
