I used to chat with two guys on the Internet. In the beginning there was one guy, and then there was the second one. What seemed strange to me even then was their excessively similar manner of communication, a similar style of avatars. I had a feeling that it was one person. I was 11 and they were 19. They talked about their life at the university, about playing guitar, about a beautiful red-haired girl from their group, and so on. We chatted for a week. I had some concerns at the time, but I didn't realize the possible consequences yet. I was always close to my mom, so I told her about those guys. She got scared, told me to stop chatting with them. And I did so. After that, another week passed, and the account of the second friend was already deleted. Then they both left. It looked like as if they were online only because of me. Now I understand that it could have been members of a cult. They were fine with my age because they needed naive children

Cult leaders and Situational factors have played a pivotal role in their life.
Watching and believing in tarot reading and that too acting accordingly. What a BS? I mean those people who doesn't know their own fate forcast and predict people's present and future.
They don't know about their last breathe and broadcast for others. Idiot they, they doesn't know that they are just minting money and selling their stuff. If they literally had the knowledge then they would have forecasted about the pandemic and the people who are going to survive and whoe's gonna die. Had they such a talent then NASA would have hired them.
Well I salute NK for having a firm belief in. I mean how wierd is it that people may loo or pee accordingly so that no uncertainty occurs in their zodiac.

And for these reasons as a kid I was already against religion (Christianity specifically for me. I could already tell it was just being used on me to try and fill me with fear and false hopes just to try and control me. And historically that was always the point of these religions - control and manipulation.
I also never took the news seriously, charities and movements, groups that say they are fighting for equality and a better future for people, etc, they're all just cults in plain sight led by people who don't care for you and are using your emotions and insecurties against you. And then they persuade you to do the same to other people.
Then the people who point this out and try to warn you not to fall for this are always painted as the enemy.

I know a person who kept saying there where persuasive within the double digits amount per day trying to put the idea seed of them having persuasive to install fear of trying to fight that idea one day I was trying to be friendly and wanted to have a diplomatic conversation about a celebrity controversy about someone getting shot in the foot because I find having debates fun I thought I was going to have a thrilling conversation but i was naive she gave the silent treatment which i never experienced before in real life till this moment making me feel extreme guilt and I ended up having 8 months of depression 6 mouths later after my delayed guilt and this is my example lying and persuasion hurt me

I don't get persuasion.
I cannot be persuaded, yet in the same vein i cannot persuade.
To me if you even have the ability to be persuaded you mist be an idiot, i mean can you not tell the obvious trickery going on? Thr man says fancy words but do you somehow not realize they mean nothing?
Yet when i present facts and truth, no one agrees.
Maybe I'm too aggressive, maybe i scare people by challenging their obviously low intelligence, maybe I'm the real idiot, who knows.

I'm writing a paper on social engineering for my PhD and this is so on point. I'd like to add the authority seems to be the technique most pursuasion attacks begin and end with, and that is because it is the most effective
If stuff like this interests you also check the foot in the door, door in the face techniques. Also, mimicking someone's body movements increases liking, which in turn increases their mimicking of your body movements, which increases liking and so on

I knew a guy a few years back that seemed almostperfect. This man was just plain alluring, and he had this aura of confidence that followed him around.
He always had the answers, even when it came to religion (my religion) and he came very close to turning me into an agnostic.
I havent heard from him in a long time- thank god.
It is amazing how certain people (cultists) are charismatic, especially this guy. Ill never forget him.

I always knew cult leaders used persuasion. However, I had no idea that a salesperson's persuasion is very similar. This is fascinating stuff. One thing to know about cult leaders is how many have destroyed families over the years. There have been many who joined cults and cut themselves off from their friends, family and society in general. Cult leaders also prey on people who come from abusive or broken households.

I am very hard to be controlled. I can't persuade myself and be persuaded to do things. Of course I made some errors but I am concious of them and try to do my best not to repeat those situations.
I see how people are easily prone to new ideas, fashions without thinking of their real value and that's really sad. I think manipulators always use human's weaknesses and promise things they will never do

Through various events and a significant amount of training, I am very aware of the daily propaganda of the modern age. I wish I could be more trusting, sometimes. However, when I perform the cost benefit analysis, it is almost always more beneficial to have a high level of skepticism. After all, the most beautiful spider in the world is still a spider.

I've been reading a lot into personality types and the most fitting for this, in my opinion is ENFJs. They are persuasive individuals who are often called cult leaders if they're unhealthy. I also happen to be an ENFJ.
PS, I know ENFJs aren't the only persuasive types. I just called out what I've heard from people.
