Nothing makes be more excited to date someone than an endless conversation of short questions that need immediate response from 6am to midnight when my work requires 4 hour chunks of uninterrupted time.
You send a message to their hi and put down your phone and start trying to read technical documentation only for your phone to buzz with what s up.
Every 30 seconds. IM can at least be alt tabbed to or seen later but I try to avoid my phone. Having to pick it up and reply is slow. Then I lose my place in the technical documentation and can t form a thought with these 3 to 5 words small talk questions.
I have to fix a typo on like 80% of words my phone comes up with. Even when I type it correctly. Even that last sentence changed it to out. Every time I text a girl even when I type out correctly she can t understand my phone is autocorrecting wrong and the response is huhhhh? What do you mean which means I now have to retype the entire message plus explain how typos work. So messages not only take 2 or 3 times the amount of time to write because I fix typos on 80% of words, but that s multiplied by 2 because I have to resend the correction with an explanation that Jo and hi are close on the keyboard and sometimes it picks the wrong one.
Just send one longer message. It s so annoying to idly text. I don t want to be on my phone all day. It s different if we re talking in person.

I have watched every single video of Psy s relating to relationships and dating. I have a therapist and a dating coach whom I pay handsomely for support and advice. I avoid the mistakes mentioned in the video, I am hygienic, I dress well, I exercise, I speak clearly and eloquently, and I attempt to be a friend before attempting to be something more significant.
So I hope that no one would be surprised by my burning, painful anger, due to the fact that I have not made it past a it was nice to talk to you with a woman in over 2 years. And that every subsequent attempt was shot down immediately after opening my mouth.
I don t understand. Why don t I understand? Or what am I not understanding?

My problem is that I don't text enough. Texting was after my time, like texting was still difficult on flip phones when I was 19. Luckily after spending time with a person I can quickly get past generic or boring responses probably within the first 2 or 3 days. Got past my days of making assumptions or misinterpreting texts. After a certain point you just get over it and realize your friendship or relationship with that person will never go anywhere with that mindset. Seems like most dating is done through apps these days and I am still a little nervous about it. At least use a VPN before using dating apps, never hurts to take extra steps to be safe.

A little too easy imho, given that it is almost always a one way street, men will text women, who don't respond for some reason and ghost you without a second thought and you never even know why.
Most of the time it's not even your mistake to begin with, it's just the attention ratio that girls are getting, that is way way superior to the opposite.
Like seriously, when does a man, not respond to a woman, like ever?

I think where some of this stems is people being afraid to tell them to stop, and others not being able to take being told to stop. Then they fear rejection, so they can't open up. Communication is very important. Also, if I feel like something is off when I text, people would probably think that I'm weird if I say something like Ah shit. Well, that either makes me sound like a cock, or it doesn't. But I do it anyway. Then I send a meme.

I don't spam texts, I wait, etc. I was always unattractive so I think girls just give me their number and then block me instantly instead of doing the right thing and tell me no. Would save me a ton of time, effort, and give me waaaay less confusion.
The best rejection I ever had was an actual polite rejection, not the oH yEaH sUrE into ghosted combo.

Just don t text too much in the beginning when getting to know someone. Meet in person, pick up the phone. Learn how they see things and what kind of humour they have by their immediate reactions. Irony is often a trap while texting in case you don t know if the person at the other end knows that you are just kidding. Been on both sides - sending and receiving - and it just causes too much trouble at the beginning.

Also make sure your texts are comprehensible. If youre someone who uses voice to text frequently and you never go back to make sure what you said makes sense before you send it, no ones gonna want to continue a conversation where they have to keep asking what you're trying to say.

to make sure my tone and intent are always as clear as possible, most of my sentences are accompanied by emojis. I don't know how much that works, but I feel like there isn't much miscommunication in my conversations

We use texting only to get quick infos about questions or tasks. But we never texting about feelings or problems. If someone wants to be entertained while texting, then they should buy a book.
