Successful mining activities on the island in the early 1900s allowed Nauru to develop enough to gain independence from Austrailia in the late 60s, their focus on the industrial turn in their economy caused them to adopt a sedentary lifestyle & abandon their traditional fish and root-vegetable based diets in exchange for imported processed western foods. -
Their geography doesnt help things, with 90% of their land area covered in non-arable, posphate deposits (a valuable ingredient used in fertilizers, and further increasing their reliance on foods that are high in refined sugars and saturated fats from other Oceanic countries like Austrailia and New Zealand. -
Sadly, around the 90s their unsustainable mining practices exhausted the land and depleted phosphate and mineral reserves, leaving the soil barren and causing an economic downturn which they are still trying to recover from today. -
Their high unemployment rates, small domestic market, underdeveloped infrastructure, and environmental limitations all challenge Naurus ability to achieve economic stability, and remains a complex issue for the country.

Peru being labeled as the country with the most Native Americans must be skewed. The vast majority of Mexicans who live in Mexico have Native American ancestry (but have been convinced through generations of nationalist government propaganda to believe that the Spanish caste system was based in truth, and that if you have even a drop of Spanish blood inside of you, it means you are no longer Native American, but -Mestizo- or -Mixed-. However, this term is widely recognized as derogatory and inaccurate. The antiquated theory of blood quantum is ridiculous, and if you don't believe in blood quantum, then you should recognize that most people who are brown and live in -Latin America- (but don't have immigration stories from other places where brown people live) are overwhelmingly Indigenous to the Americas. AKA Native American.

Why are all the facts about African countries negative - Except South Africa of course. Even other countries with a negative fact get more than one fact read. Had to stop watching. Very bias! There are positives about Africa. Just gotta do the research!

I guess having the most deaths caused by lawnmowers is an indication of a wealth country; you first need to own a house with a yard to mow the grass and have the population large enough to have such mortality rate. Something to be proud of I guess.

That-s really funny about the Netherlands. I have a Dutch friend with a really tall dad and he is pretty tall as well. (We are in middle school. But his family originated in Indonesia, the shortest country In the world.

ok. you left out Trinidad and Tobago. T&T is home to the steelpan instrument. it originated here, in these tiny islands in the Caribbean Chain.
