3: 14 -Nuke these countries because they don't have any nukes to retaliate with. -
Including the idea that NATO would nuke Poland, that is the most cowardly idea, beyond compare, I have ever heard in my life. I truly believe that there are no countries more in danger of being nuked than those that have no ambitions for world domination. For the authoritarian, destroying peaceful countries is an important goal, because he can't allow for the existence of people who are happy and content without a dictator. ERGH. Why did I think I could watch this video without ragequiting when Copenhagen casually get's nuked? :(

You just made it look miserable when considering that it was a COUNTER-attack plan of the west. It was in case if USA launch nuclear weapons against Soviet puppets, and so Soviet Union would use their bombs against non-nuclear powers. Seven days to the Rhine were possible since Soviet army was strongest and had 11 million soldiers with at that time most modern heavy warfare. It was planned to reach Rhine, not completely kick out NATO forces, but to make it not possible for West to fortify rhineland.

very important point. this strategy is a RESPONSE measure to the attack of Poland near the Vistula River. The author has said little about this. an important word RESPONDING measure to an attack against an ally of the USSR. it was assumed that NATO would attack first

I knew a post-soviet guy, who served at a submarine. He told me that they were standing near the US, eagerly awaiting for invasion (nuking) order. He regretted all his life it didn't happen. He sincerely believed the west it evil and the soviet union is great.

If ever World War happened. I don't know on which side India will be but I am 100 percent sure they will beat bush out of England. Even can nuke England as Indians have serious hatred towards English. Indians haven't forgotten colonial period.

West-Germany had Nukes, but under American Control. The Bundeswehr (Air Force) had Pershing 1's to. I'm sure there were extra Pershing1 Warheads under the 56th FA Bde Control, of which I was a Part of at 'that Time'

I don't think NATO would drop nukes on Poland first, and I don't think using tactical nuclear bombs in Germany, Low Countries, Italy and Scandinavia would end without mushroom clouds on the Kremlin.

The absolute, most optimistic scenario for the Soviets would be capturing Frankfurt in a few days and reaching the Rhine in about a month, but taking France after that would be simply impossible.

You forgot to mention that soviets knew that this tactic would cause a lot of casulties but they knew that if they sacrified enough they would have won

The Soviets thinking using tactical nukes in a conventional war is viable is the same as thinking that using pistols in a fist fight is viable

You forget that until the '80s, the US had tactical nukes aimed at the Fulda Gap. They were onboard with the -tac nukes won't escalate- thing too.

7 Days to the Rhine would've been a complete disaster back then. The USSR can't even do 7 days to Kyiv today.
