So the caspian sea is doing what it's always done and this is supposed to represent some kind of climate change catastrophe Geological and historical records clearly show the Caspian Sea receded significantly during the Medieval Warm Period. Studies published in the European Geosciences Union estimate that water levels in the Caspian Basin dropped to roughly -44 meters below the global sea level during the Medieval Warm Period (approximately 9501250 CE. This receding shoreline left behind previously submerged coastal settlements, such as the ancient port of Abaskun and early configurations of the Saber Castle, which were either stranded or drowned during subsequent water fluctuations.
The Caspian Sea is an enclosed, landlocked basin. Because it has no outlet to the ocean, its water levels are primarily driven by the balance between river runoff (about 80% from the Volga River, precipitation, and evaporation. During the Medieval Warm Period, prolonged arid conditions and increased evaporation rates across its massive drainage basin significantly outpaced inflowing water, forcing the sea to regress significantly more than even the worst estimates are currently forecasting.

3: 17 is a lie cos Aral Sea has dried out during the independent Uzbekistan era, plus it's actually can be easily restored if the Uzbekistan crooks that pocket the profits from cotton industry turned off the tap on irrigation. One can check themselves because all the 'studies' on socio-economic damage from the Aral Sea drying up have been conducted by organisations affiliated with Uzbek govt solely to get international donations. The fate of the mentioned donations is quite mysterious too because none have led to any improvements in the situation, but Uzbekistan somehow needs more of those every year

There's quite an easy solution for this, the eastern volga valley is already bellow well below sea level make an ocean level canal between the black sea and there and flood it to ocean level altitude, many people don't know this but I did the calculations and flooding the Caspian to sea level would reduce global ocean level by -2 meters it's an insane amount of volume.
We could furthermore flood other depressions on earth to reduces oceans levels by more 10s of centimeters, like the qattar depression, the dead sea, the australian depression, death valley and many more.

So, the Caspian Sea doesn’t connect to any ocean or other sea. In Iran, we had a project called Iranrud, where if it could be done, it would bring ocean water into the Caspian Sea. Not only would that keep the Caspian from ever losing water, but it could even increase rainfall in Iran. Some people have criticized it in ways that don’t make sense to me, but I know that if the U. S. would allow it (which they don’t, connecting the Caspian to the Persian Gulf or the Gulf of Oman would mean we’d never have these issues, and the Caspian would stay lively forever

The reality of the situation is you’re viewing this through your eyes and your scale of time. If you view through geologic time, in an instant will be in another ice age then we will come out of the ice age and into a warming Trend like we’re right now. The lakes will be back up and be huge. The ice age lakes will come back in the geologic instant, but for human scale, that would be millions of years we will be extinct as a species of course 1: 25

Hello, can you do a video explaining how the UK became a democracy and why there are so many different cultures in England now, maybe same with democracies like US and Canada. Since I am British Iraqi would be nice to know - I think many doctors were told to come over to help the UK and they also came to escape American bmbing etc. It's also a relevant topic with misinformation about UK being Christian, invasion of the country, asylum seekers etc. Thanks

The Aral Sea has always been really trippy to me. I think I read about it in a National Geographic back in the early 90's and it just really stuck with me ever since. Extra crazy that the Caspian is going the same way. The pictures of the boats just sitting out on the ground are one of the things that stuck with me most. I guess that area of the world has always been kind of mystical to me too. Interesting region.

I remember, in 1970s everyone feared of Caspian sea level falling. There were gazillion of articles about it.
Then, in 1990s, unlike Aral sea, Caspian sea level rose significantly.
BTW, increased level of evaporation means more humidity gets into the air, which leads to more precipitations. Atmosphere is not a sponge.
So, keep creating such a fearmongering videos : )

You’re talking as if a shrinking Caspian Sea will destroy the oil and gas industry. It won’t. This isn’t a sudden shift in the sea level, this is a gradual change over decades. Oil companies will shift from offshore to land-based, and gas will just be transported by pipeline.
This whole piece is simply environmental fear mongering.

All 100% truthfully in every scenario: 91% of the Caspian Sea’s surface area/volume is for Iran only, & its name is for Iran just like all of it for the history’s majority, & the Caspiani/Caspestani/Caspi/Casp is Iran’s largest group by far like it has been for Iran’s history’s majority, while Caspian Sea is an actual sea.

Turns out money is far more important than the survival of the peasants living off the dwindling sea. The rich will move on and exploit the next natural landmark while the poor will help fertilize all that new reclaimed dust with the water and protein in their bodies.

I'm surprised this video not once mentioned a canal (or water pipeline) from the Sea of Azov to the Caspian as a means of saving the Caspian Sea. This canal would naturally utilize the Manych Depression. Problem solved. This video comes across as way too pessimistic.
