Why We Destroyed the World's 4th Largest Lake this is nothing to do with Stalin. Stalin died in 1953 way before the oldest started. I was born in a Tashkent which is a capital of Uzbekistan and what really kills the Aral Sea Its a cotton cotton cotton cotton cotton. they call it a white gold but apparently it wasnt. Cotton required a lot ofwater to grow also its a required a lot of fertilizer. what it was taken from a rivers and diverted to the cotton field and come out with a nutrients in it. they took that water and sea dried up and this is disaster was created not by Stalin but Communist Party and this. I remember just before the Soviet Union collapsed it was a project to bring Siberian Rivers into Aral Sea but project died because of Soviet Union fell apart and we ran out of money.

-Stalin! The Aral Sea is drying up. -
-But we have cotton. -
-Yeah, but we lost the Aral Sea fisheries. -
-But we have cotton. -
-The land left behind is all salty and worthless. -
-But we have cotton. -
-Also, there's old toxic waste residue. -
-But we have cotton. -
-The wind kicks up _enormous_ toxic dust storms, which endanger the lives of everyone living nearby! -
-But we have cotton. -
-. Including the cotton, sir. -
-. Shit. -

Question and who is guilty that the Aral Sea continued to dry up from 1992 to today? Most politicians in Central Asia do not care that the Aral Sea is drying up. They build a bunch of luxury houses and villas, and then they say that they have no money. they allocate 1-2 billion tenge saying -here we are for the revival of the Aral Sea-, although in reality tens of billions are needed.
reply

Now this is terrifying when my grandad was born in 1961 the Aral was full then in 2005 they year I was born the sea had shrunk by over 80 per cent and that was only in 43 years and now 17 years later in 2022 the sea is almost completely gone with only the northern Aral and western Aral are left
reply

I do not think I had anything to do with this, Stop blaming us plebs for crooks, lying politician and save everything nutters, when we have freedom in the world these problems will go away but as long as there are politician running the world most people are helpless.
reply

-For all of recorded human history the Aral Sea was the world's fourth-largest lake-
Uh, except when the Aral Sea dried up in the late 1300's, only to come back when the Syr Darya and Amu Daryan started flowing into it again in the 15th century

I have a boardgame from 2004 about building railroads in the former USSR that still showed the Aral Sea. You could even buy a ferry across the Sea. Hard to believe even then that the Aral Sea was a mere shadow of what it was.

another example of people destroying everything, thinking they can 'fix' nature. the same thing is happening with weather tampering. causing problems to promote their agenda.
reply

You destroyed it to hasten the death of hundreds of thousands of human beings. The Illuminati is alive and well. They want 7 billion people to die and never come back.
reply

It-s amazing what we can do to control nature. I love how much power we have over it. Nature can-t be allowed to do what it wants. We must control it at least a little.

I'm surprised Americans haven't done this with the Great Lakes yet. Some crackpot billionaire will have some idea, and some loser like Trump will let them do it.
reply

Hypocritical, creature. Slave of the global homo-propaganda and the genocide of the white population. That's the only way to name the author of this video.
reply

This is not entirely true. Those projects were designed and started way after Stalin's death. As a result, revisionism is to blame for this, not Stalin.
reply

can't they just close off the canals and let the rivers divert back to their natural pathways. thus reforming the lake. seems logical to me anyways
reply

Stalin died in 1953. The canals weren't dug unti the 1960's. Obviously others played a role; however, using -we- in the title seems a tad odd.
reply

when a leftist tells you they support communism and they have plans to -fix- the environment. yah I'll take my chances not being a part of that
reply

How comes it's always -we- for disasters, but -I- for accomplishments? Some blame-spreading going on, cuz I didn't dry up a damn thing.
reply

When you put -We- in the title. You put a whole lot of blame on me. I'm now feeling guilty for something I did not partake in
reply

Not just math and physics but understanding ecosystems and how we need to be a part of them and not work against them!
reply

There should be trials for the genocide of animal species at the Hague International Court of Justice
