On a daily basis, you spend between a third and half of your waking hours daydreaming. That may sound like a huge waste of time, but scientists think it must have some purpose, or humans wouldn t have evolved to do so much of it. So, what exactly happens in the brain while you daydream? Elizabeth Cox takes a closer look at the science of daydreaming through the mind of a teenager.

I daydream A LOT. If reality isn't stimulating enought I just slip right into a daydream. im about to date myself, but im like the old video games charaters that use to tap their feet when you stop playing the game. My brain is like If you're not going to engage me, I'm just going to entertain myself.

If you daydream, a princess or a rock star will come along and find you irresistible and marry you and you'll live in a mansion with unicorns and mermaids and you'll be given an elixir of immortality and everyone who was mean to you will be sent to prison and.
What were you saying?

Does daydreaming about future situations that make you uncomfortable still count as daydreaming? Does it have the same positive impact? Should we indulge in it or should we snap out of it? For example, imagining yourself at that techincal interview, or during that exam, etc.

while listening, I started daydreaming about how much I can daydream in a morning, feeling satisfied about goals I want to achieve but I still don't have because of daydreaming, and feeling guilty about this much dreaming at open eyes. everything such a paradox

I always day dream about my life partner that how would I befriend her and then win her heart without being too Sigma or Chad. Because, let's accept this guys, we all day dream about how our crush would approach us but to be honest, it's too boring now

Astonishingly, it is the daydreaming itself that makes me wonder about the requisite of _TedEd_ in integrating the Executive and Default Network with possible notions for sanguine practices and development
which in turn, are developing itself. ;)

My daydream is my rent-free escape dome. Stumbling any fantastical unrealistic events where I am the main character and get the recognition of praise to the effort that I lack in reality.

I always have a story running in the back of my mind. Like an open tab that plays a video. It has been like this since I can remember. Apparently not everyone has that

I found an old school record from 2000 from my teacher saying that I often daydream in class, I'm 26 years old now and it brings me comfort knowing I have not changed: )

I started collecting books based on the authors from the quotes at the start of these videos and my library has grown to a cloud of ideas I can actually pride myself in.

I'm a maladaptive daydreamer. It is sweet and addictive if done excessively. I can't focus, can't do my work because of excessive daydreaming.
Daydream, but be careful

As a maladaptive daydreamer, it's really nice to see this video. Like ican daydream for hours. It's a really big addiction tho but it helps me escape from the reality yk.

I find myself daydreaming fairly often, but I rarely let myself idealize or romanticize a scenario too extensively. I don t want to be disappointed by reality
reply

Daydreaming helps me to handle some daily conversations with more confident and also in my creative works but it affects my sleep quality a lot like a lot.
