In 2021, workers at a Sardinian aquarium were stunned by the birth of a smooth-hound shark. What was shocking was that, for the last decade, the shark s mother had been living only with other females. So, how was this birth possible? And can other species reproduce this way? This would be an. 'intriguing' (and ethically/genetically dubious) way to have human-made hybrids like mules and ligers reproduce.

This is also why bananas keep going extinct. They're all clones, and without genetic diversity, keep succumbing to the same disease

Is it a stretch to think that the first life reproduced pathogenetically? Those that survived became everything that remains today.
