actually, you only need 7 eggs. start at floor 50 and split the remaining floors in half. this takes exactly 7 tries because 7 is the smallest number for which 27>100
if the division is a half number, just round it up.
for example, you would find floor 32 like this:
start at 50 -> breaks. possible max floors: 1-49
(1+49)/2=25 -> doesn't break. possible max floors: 25-49
(25+49)/2=37 -> breaks. possible max floors: 25-36
(25+36)/2=30. 5=31 doesn't break. possible max floors: 31-36
(31+36)/2=33. 5=34 breaks. possible max floors: 31-33
(31+33)/2=32 doesn't break. possible max floors: 32-33
(32+33)/2=32. 5=33 breaks. possible max floors: 32
thus the maximum floor at which the egg doesn't break is 32.

Can someone tell me why we can't just start by throwing the egg at the 50th floor, if that doesn't work, we just go to the 25th, if not it either, we continue to 12, if it does work, we go between 25 and 12, which is 18 (Im rounding down, and then we can choose to check each floor. In total, we spend at most, 11 tries. Which is far better than 19 and 14. Am I wrong? We don't even need the second egg, I didn't understand why that was even an option in the first place.

YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THAT:
drop 1 egg at the 50th floor. if it breaks you half the distance down. if it works you move up half the distance, and so on.
lets assume 99 is the top floor where it wont break.
1st egg at 50th floor.
2nd egg at 75th floor
3rd egg at 87th floor
4th egg at 93
5th egg at 96
6th egg 98
7th egg at 100. (it breaks)
8th egg at 99
YOU ONLY NEED 8 EGGS AND NOT 14 AS YOUR SOLUTION SUGGESTS.

I'll make this super simple crime. Take the perfect two replicas you can buy and sell those. If they are perfect, they are basically just copies. And then you aren't even actually stealing and can claim it is the real one and no one would have a way to verify it or disprove you since it is as I quote A perfect replica.

Ummmm i just realized something. wouldn't the first drops before the minimum floor wear down the egg? So shouldn't the real floor maybe be higher or something?
i mean, just dropping the eggs down from one floor is pretty sad for the egg lol

I see why 14 would be correct in the 10000 time play of the riddle. But since if you did 15 it would play out on getting the unlucky try equaling more only 6. 67% so in actually I guess event you would do 15. But that me on 667 lost vs 9333 win.

You can also start on the 15th floor, and just not test the 1st floor if the initial drop breaks. 14 minimum is still the answer, but the intervals are all one floor higher giving you some room to spare if it makes it near the top.
