I love TED-ed but this video has so many things going wrong with it. Debuting a heat wave related video at the end of Oct is just poor timing. Using Texas as the example state to suffer the wraith of climate change reveals an obvious Geo-political narrative which is poor taste. And this comment is coming from a registered DEM from CA. Lastly, this video has been all about scare tactics without any recommended solution to a prediction of the servility of extreme climate. What is actual point of this video How is striking fear of an impending doom educational

If we want to put a stop to rising temperatures we need to reduce carbon emissions and other dangerous gases for our ozone layer. We need to invest in the long run and heal our planets atmosphere but sadly that's kind of impossible because of greedy corporations and politicians. The biggest producer of carbon emissions is China and then the US

The most important thing to understand is that the common person cannot stop it only make it worse. Consumers use the energy heat producing factories produce. If we actually want a difference, we need to figure out alternatives and lobby for bans on these heat producing sources.

Turning the AC off in one part of the day to just turn it back on later in the same day uses more energy then just leaving it on. 3-4 box/ceiling/stand up fans uses the equivalent of a 5k btu window A/C unit because they are used much more through the day and night.

I'm so happy. Many said it couldn't be done but we are now well on our way to 1. 5 degrees above preindustrial. Keep working hard everyone. I believe we can achieve 2 or even 3 degrees by 2100 if we all stay the course.

This summer we had two 3-weeks long heatwaves with temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees every day. It was terrible, since I don't have AC. I am starting to fear summers. And 2050 is not that distant future anymore

Why would an airplane reduce its weight limits to take off
An aircraft has performs better in warmer ambient air temperature. A turbine engine would generate more thrust and the wings would generate more lift.

In Iraq the temperature in summer is always above 45C and with 12 hours a day without air conditioning the situation is unbearable and even winter has become colder than before

Too hot is the damn office I work in. People complain its too cold, turn the heating on while wearing a t-shirt and the proceed to eat an ice cream to cool down.
