This video seems a little clickbaity. Maybe I read too much into it, but the title leads me to believe they are going to make some kind of argument that the archaeological site isn't actually troy, but instead all they do is give you a brief history of the site, and then try to sell you books. If you already know about the site people believe is troy then this video is just a recap. It's kind of a shame too, because it's an interesting topic. They could have mentioned the pilgrimages people took to troy in ancient times as being evidence that it is in fact the site of the real city. They could have talked about the name Wilusa and how it might relate to the name Ilium. I also find it strange that they try to contrast bronze age with mycenaean age as though it isn't part of the bronze age.
Oh well, at least it's not another presentation about aquatic apes.

If you are interested in this I can heartily recomnend Michael Woods old series In Search of Troy.
The conclusion of which is that yes it did exhist, several times in fact. His interpretation of Homer (as a sort of dramatic sumnation of the series) is brilliant and very thought provoking too.
My take away was that whatever there was, early 'archaelogists', fellas like Schliemann, thoroughly obliterated it.

Funny how this video starts with and the cunning trick that won the city, aka the trojan horse. which NEVER f'ing happened.
Show me where in the Iliad it says that, want to guess? its nowhere.
It IS however a thing from a completely different tale and later repeated or attempted by a roman general.
So you get a nice video that immediately starts off with a lie / bad research. yeh.

Quick note: There is no 'Mycenaean age'; there is a Mycenaean period, and it happened during the Bronze Age--the Late Bronze Age. I'm not particularly concerned about the terminology, but to label it 'Mycenaean age' and to suggest that it is distinct from the Bronze Age robs the Mycenaeans of their historical context and encourages Hellenocentrism.

I am Greek and i understand more for this matter than everyone here. Troy as a city existed but the whole story is for Greeks only. The Trojans had Greek names, same gods and manners. They were just the excuse to create a Greek massive epic story and nothing more. Trojans were not Hittites but kind of independent. Greetings from the land of gods

Ok so there are remains from a fortified, rich city during the time Troy existed, as well as many other later cities, but that doesn't prove any of the lore surrounding Troy or even that it was named Troy or that any of the famous people in the story even existed and lived there.

Number one thing mythology has taught me: cover your ankles and heels because that is without a doubt the weakest part of the body, and not the neck since you'll never know if you're enemy grows two heads for each lost.

The real question should be Is there a reason why Troy shouldnt exist? Do you think archeologists, ruins, sceletons scribes from Egypt, Greece and so on describing troy and its people are a joke to you?

Why didn't they endeavor to create evidences that proves the happening of this alleged event, the trojan war. other entities of that time left some contemporary evidence to alleged events etc.

In the movie ten commandments,
The priam king of troy pays tribute to
The pharoah.
Troy was real and it existed during the time of remesis 3rd, right when Prophet moses was at work.
