Dig into the inaccuracies of flat maps and how different map designs can shift our point of view. Fourteen Greenlands could fit in Africa but you wouldn t guess it from most maps of the world. The fact is, every world map humans have ever made is wrong. Actually, it s impossible to make a flat map of the whole spherical world 100% right. So why do we bother with these inaccurate maps at all? Kayla Wolf explores how even the simplest changes in map design can shift our point of view

Sooo the map maker can literally make us go to different direction even when its a straight line
I thought this kind of sorcery can only be performed in US to redraw political/ demographics areas for voter suppression.

A bad map is worse than no map at all that's so true, and likewise my mum says a having a fake friend is dangerous than being surrounded by deadly snakes. Our parents are our maps and guides in real life

TLDR: Maps are 2d, and the world is 3d, so, in order to make the world into a flat space, you need to distort it in some way.
