How Twisted Sister Outclassed Congress

video description

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
Rock & roll was under attack during the mid-80s. As the music got more theatrical and provocative and MTV gave it a national platform, Americas youth screamed for more. It was obvious that pop music was experiencing a revolution it hadnt seen since Elvis swiveled his hips on The Ed Sullivan Show. Enter Dee Snider and his band, Twisted Sister

This came up on my feed again. I noticed that I disliked the video, so I will remind viewers again. At the beginning of this video, the commentator references Reagan era Republicans but in FACT, they were Democrats wives (hello, Tipper Gore)
What Dee Snyder did was great, but putting a warning label on our albums made record sales go up. We begged our record company to put warning labels on our records.
What the makers of this video was not so good: Im fact they apparently dont know our history or trying to change it for their own woke agenda, which is sad.
The story of the PMRC is out there for you to see. I suggest a different video for a more accurate version.

Roughly translated from Glaubensbekenntnis (declaration of faith) by J. B. O.
I believe in the rock, the roll, the rock'n'roll
The sound of the heavens and the earth
And in the heavy metal, his firstborn son, our lord.
Conceived through the Judas Priest
Born through the Iron Maiden
Suffered under Dieter Bohlen
betrayed, sold and buried
descended to the underground
Revived on the third day after the party
Risen to the charts
From whence he will come to judge the rocking and the dead.
Amen.
And for our american politicians, also Awoman.

This is how a real man moves just in case you're a lost young man out there. A real man stands up for and follows his own path, he takes care of himself, his family and community, he treats everyone he meets equally and judges them based on their character, he keeps himself educated because knowledge and skills is where value lies, not in things, money and clout. Before you embark on the world make sure you have your own shit in order, only then you will understand what it takes to help others!

they tried the same thing in the 50's with the start of rock n roll which was called back then - BeBop and most radio station's werent allowed to have it, ( R. I. P. Buddy Hollly ). I commend D. Snider for standing up to the big men and women of pollie' s and put them to shame!
LONG LIVE ROCK N ROLL - and in the words of Bon Scott - ROCK AND ROLL AINT NOISE POLLUTION, - Big mouth pollies are!

Dee Snider is a fraud. He never believed in anything he said. Everything he's done was done so to put himself over. Ask him what he thinks of different political opinions or how you're an asshole for not getting vaxed. Nah, I'm tired of buying into this fraud's mythology of himself as this bearer for freedom and the 1st amendment.

F is for Fighting
R is for Red, ancestor's blood in battles they've shed
E we Elect them
E we Eject them, in the land of the free and home of the brave
D for your Dying
O your Overture
M is for Money, you know what that cures
This spells out FREEDOM, it means nothing to me, as long as there's a PMRC

Let's not forget who was at the forefront of this attack on American teen culture: Tipper Gore, wife of vice-President Al Gore - and well known liberal supporter of the democrat party. This is the true face of modern liberalism. This is the monster that gave birth to the degenerate abomination known as woke culture.

It' sad that he and all the other bands and musicians had to testify before congress, just goes to show how different the times were.
But they almost all outclassed those petulant politicians, who are so far removed from reality and the people that it's unfathomable.

When Linda Blair started in The Exorcist she was nominated for best actress in a supporting role. When Dee Snider starred in the Were not Gonna Take It music video he was criticised for being violent! One played the devil and one didnt!

Your attempt at 0: 20 to pin this on Conservative Reagan-era Baby Boomers is ignorant. Al and Tipper Gore were Liberal, not Conservative. And while they are Boomers, so are Dee Snyder and the rest of his Twisted Sister band mates.
reply

well. I'm not that much a Twisted Sister fan but I love that Dee Snider guy. He seems more honourable than the whole bunch of Senators. In my eyes he is a hero of music and fought for our rights to hear, what we want to.
reply

The creator of this video is either lazy or a leftist tool. He says this was lead my Reagan era conservatives. How indoctrinated or clueless does one have to be to not know Al Gore and his wife, Tipper, are democrats?

I have many albums without the warning. from back in the 80's. and early 90's. But i do have some that I couldn't buy after the waring came out. Glad I got 2 live crew. as nasty as they wanna be before it all happened.

I've loved rock music all my life. didn't turn me evil.
Video games aren't training for murderers.
These people are just afraid, 2 dimensional and control freaks who dislike anything that doesn't conform.

reply

Twisted sister - We stay true to ourselves, come rain or hail.
Congress - we are a bunch of elected (replacable) people who turn our coat whichever way the wind blows.
Who do you think has more character?

reply

Funny how now it sounds like Dee Snyder is fighting FOR Congress instead of against it.
Slow clap for all your posturing. We're Not Gonna Take It, indeed. You're gonna join them.

reply

Amazing how things change. I grew up in this era and loved anything heavy (and still do) but now 2022 the conservative circle celebrate freedom and the Left is the ones censoring
reply

When every single politician wants to leave a lasting mark on the world as an egotistical sense of legacy, we all suffer with the stain on society they actually leave.
reply

Twisted sister and his awesome songs and his band members are the greatest entertainer's on the planet forever playing their awesome song's from northern Canada country
reply

Nothing like the rap crap that's out now. We had good music back then. Not like the crap now. Doesn't matter, so called rock, country, pop or c'rap, today's music sucks.
