Just a little extra info about California coastal contact with great white sharks: since 1950, according to the California Department of Fish & Wildlife, there have been 220 reported incidents of contact with great whites. Of these, 116 resulted in non-fatal injury, while 16 were fatal. So, on average, (per decade since 1950) there have been 17. 8 non-fatal injury encounters per decade and 2, 5 fatal encounters per decade with great white sharks off of the coast of California.
Relatively speaking, these are low figures, but they're enough to be another reason for me to keep my ass out of the ocean. lol.

The ocean gives life and takes it away. One of the most scariest things that can happen in the water is when there is no light around. Unless you have some amount of moonlight at night. It's completely dark and there's only stars in the sky. However, due to the distance from Earth, you have no other means to see what's around you. You are at Neptune's mercy at that point and just hope he's in a good mood. To add on to that fear, there's always a chance that a creature might come by and bump next to you. Then you will really question What things goes bump in the night.

Me as a kid swimming in the ocean for the first time:
Me: Hey Dad, aren't there like, sharks out here
Dad: You're not going to get eaten by a shark. The odds are one in a million.
Me: What about that guy in the news that just got eaten by one What were the odds for him
Dad: Fine, don't swim in the ocean then.
Me: K

I am 30 years old this year, and I have never seen the sea. I live in a poor rural area in the Northwest of Vietnam. I sincerely hope that people from Western countries will always cherish and love the Vietnamese people. Our country has endured many wars and is still struggling with poverty and underdevelopment.

In 2023, there were only 69 reports of unprovoked shark attacks worldwide.
Question. What exactly is a provoked shark attack Are guys diving in shark infested water with their arms up and saying Come at me, bro And why do they specifically not get counted in the figure

I was a fish in water, until. A stingray gave me the worst pain of my life. 6 hours of mind-numbing venom from my toe to ankle. Under the San Diego Bridge. 2005. It made me afraid of the ocean forever. I have had open heart surgery, and it didn't hurt as badly.

Small request. Can u list, or also include, metric measures when using fahrenheit, especially, or feet, etc Many of your viewers, like me, won't know the imperial system and it interferes with the flow/entertainment value of the video.

Can you prove sea monsters don’t exist No, of course not. I suggest not making such statements. You have NO idea what’s out there, especially in the ocean. Good video otherwise, except music is kind of stressful/depressing.

I saw a video of a bunch of numbskulls handling a blue ringed octopus. They had no clue that what they were handling could be incredibly deadly. They were just enamored at how cute it was. Fools.

Though fascinating, I'm not so sure it has anything to with what I'd be taught in any history class. And I think a better title would be some of the ways the ocean can kill you instead of all.

I once got caught between a current and a wall of coral full of black spiney sea urchins. That was probably the biggest oh shit, oh shit! ’ moments of my life

The ocean is teeming with wildlife and mystery. To plumb its depths is to discover a world filled with activity and creatures you never thought to imagine.

I was swimming in the ocean, and, strange, the harder I kicked the farther away I got from the shore. A woman saw me and called life guards. Riptide.

0: 44 Sorry, but who are you to tell 100% that sea monsters do not exist, when the ocean is vastly unexplored! We can't tell what lurks beneath.
