If an asteroid were to crack the moon in half, it would have a number of significant consequences for the Earth and its inhabitants.
Firstly, it would likely cause massive earthquakes and tsunamis on Earth due to the gravitational pull of the Moon. This could result in widespread destruction and loss of life.
Secondly, the asteroid impact would also likely cause the Moon to move into a new orbit around the Earth. This would have a number of effects on the Earth, such as changes in the tides and possibly even changes to the climate.
Thirdly, the asteroid impact could also cause the Moon to break into multiple pieces, which could cause further problems for the Earth. These pieces could potentially collide with the Earth, causing more widespread destruction.
Finally, the impact could also cause a shower of debris that could threaten the Earth's satellite and other space infrastructure,
Overall, the impact of an asteroid cracking the Moon in half would be catastrophic for the Earth and its inhabitants. It would likely result in widespread loss of life and significant damage to the planet's infrastructure.

Bruh in order to break the moon in half, you'd need a force that is greater than the moon gravitational gravity which is a lot of force like hell if the moon get's hit by an asteroid, It'll just go back to the moon or fall into the earth oooor rotate around the earth just like saturn's ring. So ye the possiblity is kinda low.

everyone: we are gonna die.
me: it will be because Vanya beemed the moon and tore it into pieces or even two. which caused an apocalypse. since they've shown the clip so many times.
for those who don't know, everything i said is (The Umbrella Academy) reference.
so, only legends will get it: )

The old Hanna-Barbara cartoon Thundarr the Barbarian opened with a rogue planet passing between the Earth and the Moon, causing our satellite not to split in two but break into many large pieces. And these pieces stayed in orbit, giving the Earth many smaller moons.

I had a nightmare today, My mother called me and said -Look at that Alan-. Then I said -wait is that an aster- then the moon hit the Moon, And EAS alarms start to ring loudly and Asteroid started hitting and it was Bright, Then I began to Pray, Thankfully I woke up!

The idea you could crack the moon into two pieces is ridiculous. Hitting the moon with a large asteroid with enough energy to overcome the gravity that holds the moon together would liquify the majority of the rock from both objects.

It would destroy our gravity and take the earth off course. It would ruin the gyroscope of our part of the solar system. Man would die shortly after this as would all life on earth. we would freeze or burn to death.

I-m curious if most of your audience is children, because the narration style seems like it-s for kids but the topics seem more for teens/adults. It-s a bit hard to listen to

Wrong, the Moon did split in half that night. The Knights Tenplar then gathered the mystical Dragon Balls and restored the moon to its previous state. Get it right!

Theoretically, under circumstances where the moon being shattered doesn't affect our oceans and wind, Earth could have it's own -ring- of ex-moon asteroid fragments
