How Death Creates Everything

How Death Creates Everything Sattorin: The human body isn't infinitely complex. Therefore, as long as scientific progress continues, we will eventually figure out how to repair all of the damage to it, including aging. I think you're allowing your bias to blind you to this big change which is effectively inevitable. The only question is who among us will be alive to see it happen.

Life-extension being impossible is magical thinking on your part. There is no law of nature holding it back, just the level of technological advancement.
I agree that death has had the most major impact on culture and life but I don't think it's a necessary one for the continuation of one. I think it's an inevitability that one day in the future (probably long after I'm gone) humanity will unlock the ability of life extension and dying will be something of the past. Of course because the universe still has limits like Entropy and a finite amount of mass-energy there will be limits to our abilities and what things are possible to experience in the first place.
I think your views are actually close-minded in the sense that you view culture through a lens that is very weighed towards how culture has been viewed in the past. I feel like once life-extension is here it would be such a game changer that culture as we know it would come to mean something completely different that you haven't even conceptualized yet.

This is why people hate Elon Musk
No people hate Elon Musk because literally everything positive his sycophants say about him is a lie and like Timothy Dexter his wealth and fame exist only due to the fact that through sheer statistical probability someone can purely by accident achieve a level of wealth and fame that puts them amongst the richest elites and most famous celebrities despite having neither the intellect nor charisma to rightfully achieve either status on paper. It's actually quite fascinating how about once per century someone manages to accomplish that given if someone like Musk existed in a work of fiction no one would find the idea that he could reach the position he has with his abilities believable. It's also odd to have him put in the Heroism category when he's very openly a mix of the worst attributes of Nihilism and Hedonism.

I ve been an EOD tech for about 11 years now and the subject of death is always an interesting one. The exhilaration you describe when skirting death is absolutely real, and something that I know many of my peers actively chase. It s hard to give up. It also makes life less stressful. Our motto is Initial Success or Total Failure. The normal risks we take on the job make the risk and stress of regular life seem trivial and makes life so much more beautiful. I can enjoy the beauty in my wife and family, the quiet little things, and big steps in life, and know that I can move towards death with my head held high. Death isn t what is scary; living a life paralyzed by fear and never doing anything is what truly terrifies us.

I had this experience reading the manga Vinland Saga. A viking warrior died a violent dead and we have the experience of knowing his finals thoughts. He did not see Valhalla. Many comments on the page I read were cheering as they found validation for not believing in any after life and they felt smarter than this character. They do not understand the power of religion, this guy fought a lot of enemies to the end. Meanwhile we the enlighted with no religion can't do basic shit without anxiety. I do not endorse violent religions but you can't deny the power of believing in afterlife. The vikings did incredible things and even more incredible things after they started believing in Christ.

Remember we re the only creatures to not only fear death, but what awaits after. We re also the only creatures to understand death is a curse. Something we NEVER should experience. No matter how intelligent your furry lil buddy is, it ll never grasp the gravity of death, even if it s life is in danger or yours. Death is a terrible thing that no one should have to experience as well as sin. But I understand the importance of death. Like if you re locked away chained up and suffering. To defend yourself and others and even punish those who have crossed the line. Death can push humans to do great things as well. But ultimately, we don t need death to do that and one day, we won t

Stop just a mere moment. I feel like I'm trying to talk to someone who doesn't understand that sentience isn't sapience. The opposite of death isn't life or vice-versa, the opposite of death is conception. Conception is the beginning of life, death is the end of life. It's really that simple, but the misinformation is repeated so much that people just believe it without even thinking about it for a few moments. Its fine to use the word death to mean different concepts, as is normal for words and languages, but it should be clear what we are referring to so we don't get confused.

Man, the fact that you can quote your dad is good. I wish I had a father. Thank you for your high quality videos. I think the break down of the family causes kids to be emotionally unregulated. The mom's job is to stabilize the emotions of her child so that they are prepared for the fathers hard lessons of life and death. And then they go back to the mom for another round of stabilizing. The fathers job is also to create an environment where the mom can focus on stabilizing the child. This process just isn't happening any more.

Life isnt something to be planned out, its to be experienced.
When one faces death, they learn the truth of themselves, will you spend all you have made in life in a sick bed begging for more time or will you roar your defiance at death, yet the rarest die with a smile and when the meet the end they treat it like a friend who has walked with them the whole journey and will bring them home.

I have talked to some of my friends of these theme (death. Some just tried to avoid this reality and some want to live very hedonistic with the excuse of I only live once, those answers made me feel pity for them. Do not get me wrong, I think about my own mortality and indeed gives me anxiety, but to live avoiding the fact or a hedonistic life are worse than death.

Another thing to note of the latest generations is that we all buy ourselves in fantasy: video games, fantasy novels (Harry Potter, movies. It's fun but completely detaches people from reality.
For hundreds of years people's primary stories were histories of ancient and medieval heroes. The mentality has changed.

So you just moved across the country, and you talk about the existence of life with authority like you are Ernest Hemingway or something?
I'm not a hater, but you should have to stick to the What If. videos, this is just embarrassing pseudo intellectualism.

When I reached the age of 18 I fell into depression so i started an apprenticeship as a cemetery gardener(in germany they are pretty much parks) I learned that you could plant flowers on our ultimate destiny which got me the courage to live again

To live nobly, according to God's Law, to love your wife deeply and to raise your children to be as good, though preferably better than you ever could have been
That is the meaning of life, if you do that, you can face the Reaper with a smile

I don't think people will call you arrogant for attempting this question, but isn't it kinda clear that you're a bit too sure about your view? The fact that you confidently call certain things bas philosophy is where I'd say the problem lies.

An interesting question is that we are more likely than not to achieve biological immortality within our lifetimes.
I really wonder how things will change when we literally have all the time in the world without having to worry about aging.
