-A King Has Fallen. A Father. A Friend. A Warrior. --
Hiya Folks! The culmination of sweat, tears and mucus (mostly mucus, I-ve finally completed my longest project yet, a true tribute to Varian Wrynn, my personal favorite character in all of WoW. That intro sequence alone took most of my time out of the whole video. Very surprised to see it come out coherently! Here-s to big hopes we get to see him one last time in Shadowlands. And Tiffin of course! Family reunions are great.
There-s a lot more on his backstory, mostly covered in novels, but his story in WoW starts directly in WoTLK, after the whole gladiator backstory, Onyxia schemes, losing his wife Tiffin to the Defias riots, friendship with Arthas, and all that jazz. Take care for now!

In years to come, Warcraft oldschool players will realize, that story-wise, Legion was the peak of the game. The biggest enemy of the Saga was on its full power, the storyline was SO forfilling, the cinematics were AMAZING. The game ended with our King gone and our #1 outcast character going on a space mission to fight Titans. What more can you ask?
Yes, Wrath was ahead of it's time for an mmo, yes the timing was wright, yes we got to fight the Lich king. But Legion man. Put a pretty nice closer to. Long live the True King

I love this, but i wish you'd included more of the Wrathgate, as it adds more weight and context to Varian's anger in the Violet Citadel, and also to the moment in ICC with Saurfang. I think this is great, I only nitpick because I think this type of story+video that what would get new players invested, some of my friends for instance. but I imagine seeing the end of Wrathgate without context might be kinda jarring lol. Awesome work though

as a horde player there are many members of the Alliance I do not like, I do not stand, alot that I could not side with. But Varian was always a hero that I could accept as both a leader and a warrior. He has been a hothead for a long time but he never failed those relying on him. was enjoying seing more of the alliance side of his backstory that I couldn't even witness on horde side.

I cried because when I see this, I see the Warcraft that was taken away from me by its new writers. I hear the music, see the characters and feel the world. It's so alive.
And then I play WoW Dragonflight and I feel nothing, see nothing. Compared to what was, it is empty.

Their will never be a King more brave than Varian Wrynn. He is the most iconic of all the heroes in WoW and it has been my great pleasure and honor to serve at his side for so many years. and to watch his death again has brought me to tears. RIP my King! For the Alliance!
reply

I'm not Alliance in anyway but this man he struggled so hard to change his ways and get to where he was in his final hours he used to be so reckless and impulsive but he grew not just because of his son but for his people he is the true king of the Alliance in my eyes

Genn is like the Brother and Step In Father Figure of the Alliance. -If I am to be a wolf. Let it be known I am kind to those who seek refuge and protection. To those who seek to harm my kind. Know this I will hunt you down like a wolf. In lock step. -

I may have been (and still am) a Tauren for the past 15 years, but I still can't deny my respect for Varian Wrynn. One of the greatest (fictional) and inspirational kings, let alone characters to have ever lived in the WoW universe.

When the horde leader starts dying the horde pulls back.
When the alliance starts dying OUR LEADER SHOWS THEM WHY WE WON'T BE STOPPED!
MAY OUR KING REST AND PEACE AND MAY THE ALLIANCE LIVE ON, FOR THE --ALLIANCE--!

I never played the recent expansions thou I've been trying to follow the lore. Can anyone explain to me, how the hell Sylvanas turned from what she was in the start of Legion to whatshe is in BFA.
reply

-I only regret that I didn't kill that human before the mage interfered- Yeah. keep telling that to yourself Garrosh. you totally wouldn't get your ass handed to you on a platter.
reply

Everyone on her crying for Varian. not seeing a single tear shed for Vol-jin.
FOR THE HORDE!
p. s. - They really should-ve let us meet Varian again in the Halls of Valor.

reply

Wait didn-t Muradin die I don-t play the game so can someone explain to me? Ps I wish I could play it though but sadly I don-t have a PC although I could afford a subscription.
reply

The scene where he's in the water is incomplete. He's supposed to get out and start mauling people. I actually liked that scene and only half is shown. That disappointed me.
reply

agree or not, Varian is most badass king I ever seen in a video game, I really cried when he died, and cried more when I've seen his trailer in heroes of the storm.
reply

Furthermore proving that Sylvanas is an irredeemable scumbag that-s you love to hate. What a well written villain she is, not a good bone in her body
reply

My favorite character is Varian, too. To this day I cannot watch his death without shedding tears. Thank you for making this well-done memorial!
reply

I like how Illidan killed Gul'dan just like Gul'dan killed Varian. -You will be remembered, as the warlock who sacrificed his life, for NOTHING! -
reply

They sure gave Varian an Epic last stand but I am still mad at how they treated Tirion. Hope they redeem themselves with Uther in shadowlands
reply

As a guy whos favourite character is Varian this is hard to watch. He died a hero's death like a true warrior. Gone but never forgotten!
reply

he was king during my time as was the one before him. but i killed all leaders in the horde and got my war bear while he was in rule. good times.
reply

I genuinely shed a small tear when Anduin met Wrynn in that last segment there. A final goodbye!
For the Alliance! Justice for Darnassus!

reply

Alliance; defeats Garrosh, Varian: 'Fk up again and we will END YOU! -.
Next expansion: Varian: 'Gets ended-. Gotta love the irony.

reply

Legion will always be my favorite expansion. It had its ups and downs, but the amount of quality writing in it was flawless to me.
reply

if we get a wow move that is based on Varian Wrynn as thhe main character, then Keanu Reeves would be the perfect face for him
reply

Varian is the reason I will always main a warrior, also I wish it was genn that stayed back instead. He-s so damn useless.
reply

Sylvannas back before she became a cunt. in the broken shore scene. why blizzard gotta keep ruining good characters
reply

I love Garrosh, but he-s lucky that Rhonin broke up the fight with Varian. he-d have gotten his ass handed to him.
reply

We will never forget our king. He lived as a hero, he died as a legend. Thanks for this video. For the Alliance!
