Arthas always was a hero to me, no matter if he became Lich King, as it is said you either die or live long enough to become the villain.
Illidan vs Arthas combat can be epic if made very well in a movie, i can say that it will be the most remembered scene. But the thing is nothing comes just out of imagination, to deliver such a story line and emotion, extreme level of work and great actors are required. I want movie from Reign of Chaos- The frozen throne- Wrath of the lich king, this can be great trilogy with Arthas as the pivotal point. But i dont think anyone of current producers have guts to make this epic in a real epic cinematic manner

Came here as a suggested video after watching the WotLK cinematic after watching the new -The war within- cinematic.
Now I know why the song -Arthas my son- that played in the wotlk cinematic is so emotionally impactful. It's a requiem of a beloved son of Lordaeron. A sad tale of what was meant to be but didn't. The mourning of a paladin, child of a great King, with unparallel love for his people, destined to rule justly over them only to fall into darkness and cause thousands of casualties among the very people he swore to protect.
Such a powerful story.

the most amazing story there have ever been (till wrath and not mentioning shadowlands dirty writing)
Most people love the story of Arthas and true honor and great storys.
But what have we now? skinny dragons, furrys and weak leaders.
Back then it was WARCRAFT! not lbqthdmi Gaycraft peace and love and crying leaders.
Bring back some real storys. Some real and good charakters.
See what people like? Classic and Wrath.
That should be the way to go.
Not the whole furry shit

It's a sad story but Arthas did care for his people and wanted his enemies to suffer was he wrong to kill his infected people no it would have been worse if he did not do what he had to do if they did a trilogy about the rise of Arthas to the demise of the lich king it would be a great arc for a trilogy of wow movies after that you can do a prequel with the blood elves and the orks leaving to the lands of the west and founding the new hoard just saying lots of meat on the bine

everything would have been different if uther would have did what he was told to me he is the betrayer and he is the one who drove arthas to become the lich king that is why it bugs me that uther later on gets to throw Arthas down into the shadowlands that was wrong he should have been chained up and throw into the shadowlands into darkness to never return

Would be amazing if the shitheads at Blizzard can fix Arthas' story, after they did him dirty. Maybe a part of Artha's soul is trapped in his mount Invincible and we have to go and find it. Restore his soul, bring him back to life and he helps us defeat whoever, probably dies with honor trying to help us and says goodbye after redeeming himself.

Skip ahead a few expansions and poor bolvar the new lich king gets bent over by Sylvan-ass. Because you know sh-tty writing. Then they hype up Arthas returning only to show up as a wisp with no dialogue and we get told to forget about him. Because you know sh-tty writing. Blizzard should be ashamed

They really dropped the ball on the wow movie. They decided to run with the orc storyline with a bunch of mediocre cgi. When the fan favorite is right in front of your face with easily 3 movies to make from it (Warcraft 1-3) then you can expand with wow lore

Wanted to show this to my baby mamma so she can grasp how cool wotlk was to me.
Decided to give her a short intro to arthas before it started. Then proceeded to play almost word for word what I just told her for the first 4 minutes or so.
Amazing video.

I believed that WoW was amazing up to Burning Crusade and Wrath of The Lich King. Those were the best from Blizzard. I played up to that point. After, they changed game mechanics and it-s really changed a lot of classic WoW vibes.

Am I the only one who thinks Arthas got a raw deal? dude just wanted to save his people and ended up getting mind-controlled, then gets tossed into the maw like it's all his fault. Is there something I'm missing?
reply

Holy shit the remaster looks GARBAGE man. Both animations and textures and UI design when they talk and the way the talk. Holy bad. Shoulda used the OG Wc3 footage for this masterpiece vid.
reply

FFS, better models but still lame animations after 20 years. Blizzard wasted so much time without any effort. Really sad that they didn't bother to do better cinematics for WC3R.
reply

I like that the third -chapter- in this video's timeline is named -Frostmourne takes Arthas. - Arthas thought he wielded the blade but it was not the blade that was controlled.

I have not felt the same about a game since WoTLK. Even after playing WoW up until earlier this year, nothing feels the same. This was hands down the apex of the RPG experience.
reply

Its so great that consecutive cinematics are from such a different places in time, like u have a full hd cinematics from shadowland and then one from the old warcraft 3 -----
reply

I-d say this is one of the best storylines I-ve ever experienced-. We had the privilege of playing the original BC--WotlK transition and it was absolutely magical
reply

Literally, everything after their showdown is Illidans fault. He didn't take the fight seriously, and thus, arthas was able to do all that he did.
reply

warcraft3 gave me astigmatism. Played this for 10hours straight when i was a kid. Couldnt believe this was 20years ago. And the cinematics are crazy.
reply

Needs a series adaptation like Arcane. Live action hardly ever works for games/animation. They need to keep their style and make episodes.
reply

the ending music got me really nostalgia. all those hours on the game lobby waiting for tower runs. back before Blizzard ruined Warcraft 3: (
reply

The song is truly masterpiece, describe the saddest, loneliness and emptiness of Arthas, like a cry of regret for the hero he once was
reply

hmm. So Arthas is even bigger than a castle and a siege tower lol. Even an amateur game maker would have done the proportions right: D
reply

Kelthuzad is so well spoken.
He'd be great at narrating books
Childrens books
Cultist books
Cook books
All the books

reply

Almost 20 years after the release of the lich king trailer. Still no one take Arthas story seriously and make a standalone movie.
reply

Kinda weak and generic story tbh. I was expecting more since everyone kept telling me what a great story and lore it was
reply

I like how Bolvar put up a better fight against Sylvanis than Arthas did to Illidan but Bolvar lost to her plot armor.
reply

-I will give anything, pay any price if you will help save my people-
Boy did that come back to haunt Arthas.

reply

this was fantastic, only thing id add would be the speech Uther gave to Arthas before his Arthas killed him.
