Dialect Coach Guesses Who's Faking The Australian Accent Out Of A Lineup Kewlausgirl: A little worried that am expert in the field couldn't differentiate between clearly a new York accent and an Aussie one. Or the British one.
Yeah this was embarrassing to watch.
Then again Hollywood keeps casting non Aussie people to play really bad Aussie accents. I mean if they get a bit kiwi or South African confused you could just explain in the backstory that their parents were South African and they grew up in Australia. That way they have both accents intertwined. -_-

I'm an Australian currently in Melbourne, VIC. As soon as I began watching this video, and when I heard them saying 'I'm an Australian', I straight away knew that Ayla was Australian. Bret tried to sound like some fake imposter whilst Haily had part American dialect. IF you carefully listen how they say Australian, you will truly be able to distinguish their different speech phonemes (sounds.

I figured out the girl in the middle too without much knowledge of the aussie accent. She's the only one who speaks slower and more deliberate. The other two tried harder. And her reactions to what the host said also was a clue. Interestingly, she doesn't sound australian to me. The other two sounded more. But I still got it right.

Binging all of these videos and it's bad enough they're reusing the same people in the line up but you can tell all of these videos were filmed in the same day based on how all of the reused participants are wearing the same thing

Aussies and accents are the Italians and food equivalent. We all get it. No one but other Aussies can do the accent just like how no one but Italians can apparently make a good lasagne. Big deal.

The Australian girl has the typical Australian accent but foreigners think the broad accent is. That's like assuming all Brits speak the Cockney accent and all Americans speak Texan.

This was too easy. Ayla is the only option. The other 2 were over the top, not even thick Aussie accents are that exaggerated. Only an Aussie can imitate the thick accent.

I only had to watch from 0: 27 to 0: 33 to pick the Aussie girl and the two fake accents. The giveaway was the way they pronounced Australian. No need for a dialect coach.

I just watched the British video not too long ago and recognised the 2 ppl. But it was still obvious who the real Aussie is anyways

Although Im not Australian Im Canadian those fake accents are painful to listen to at least Canadians can do better than this
