A tender story about finding love even amid utter decay. Love is Just a Death Away by Bára Anna Stejskalová Connect with the Filmmaker: Love is Just a Death Away Morbid and unsettling but really visually stunning! So, the message is: we are just corpses in putrefaction whose decisions and actions are established by just another maggot, the supreme one, whos looking for love. At the end of the day we are already dead for the maker, but I m not agree with him. I still think we are sleeping walkers, tormented by our ailments that compel us to take action and make something with our bodies, in this reality, almost totally unconscious, still with our instincts and intuition. I dont know what we are doing here, and why we should do it, but I know it is important and that we are alive and responsible, even if it is not fair. I didnt like the finale, maybe the makers were a bit lost with their filosofy, meanwhile their answer was so easy, actually: making of new living corpses! No

The scale model of the junkyard set is absolutely amazing! I've always wanted to do stuff like that. And stop motion animation is really good too. I have to give then credit where credit is due.
I do feel like it's an interesting concept to show essentially caterpillars living inside dead animals after eating their brains. A rather morbid take, that could make one afraid of caterpillars. Lol.

I almost passed on this one because of the title. So glad I didn’t. I love stop motion animation because I’ve read how hard it is to do. The amount of work and the patience to do this kind of animation just blows me away. I loved the rat blowing up! Without a doubt Ray Harryhausen would have loved this. Good job.

Disgusting! Manipulated dead animals, parasitic worms bursting out of animal carcasses and they change into flying insects who'll feed on who knows what and now they're in love. Morbid. I thought it would improve. I get the death thing, and the new life thing but it was nauseating what they had to do.

That was so cool. What a unique and excellent storyline. I try to predict what's going to happen next when I watch the first time, and I can't predict a good story like this one, everything unexpected. I thought for sure a bird would swoop and eat those 2 at the end. Thank you.

Unique, that small masterpiece evoques me The Dark Crystal, abrupt movements of canvas, plastic, cardboard and rope, all linked by emotional colours, desire and hope.
Thank You UST.

Very nice story of loneliness and love. And it shows that being kind to a stranger may pay off in the long run, so if possible try to be nice. It might save your life.

This is so bizarre, strange and wonderful all at the same time. There's not a lot of old school stop-motion anymore which, makes this even cooler

don't allow 'blinding desperation' to be your 'downfall', let it go, be content and live happily
