An advanced data courier called Sync delivers a dangerous package. Sync by Hasraf 'Haz' Dulull Production company: HaZimation Ltd Why would you design a humanoid robot to carry data, why not a different form. What data would you transfer like that and step backwards in technology and miss out on the purpose of the internet. If there was such need, whats wrong with a thumb drive type device delivered by human courier or flown by a drone Is it uploaded to the robot, because they are obviously connected to something because they try to shut down all drones You would also have to be using the information on computers that are disconnected to the internet because otherwise that was a lot of work to just put onto a computer that is vulnerable, but again what would you do with the info and be disconnected Seems like a very niche market, with an overkill solution, that failed because the robot mustve been hacked to throw away safety protocols laid out in the rules of robotics to nit harm humans. Theres also of course the gun which is advanced enough to show readout but no biometrics for safety measures. Why is the robot even programmed for such combat, or was that from it being hacked

As a computer engineer, I never understood something. When your servers have issues, first, the lights in the room don't power off. Second, the server lights usually change from green to amber or red but they don't turn off because there's still rail power to them and often have these little LED or LCD screens (depending on the server) that stay on saying there's an issue. I get it, they do it for dramatic purpose but when you're an expert in a field and it is so unrealistic is sucks the fun out of it for you: .

Interesting idea, but some major plot holes. If that kind of robotic technology existed, then it would be ubiquitous. You wouldn't send human police up against it, you would have robotic police. And if the courier is armoured, why would it be programmed to use weapons and possibly harm civilians And finally, even if it delivered the package, someone at that location needs to remove the hard drive. Just stop the package at that point.

That is scary. That is why I drive an older car with no computer. And will never be a passenger in a self driving car. The tech is advancing so very fast that things like this one can happen sooner or later.
Hopefully the tech security advances just as fast to prevent problems like this from happening.
Great short. Would love a part 2 or full length movie.

I wish they wouldn't call these Short Films. they are not, they are teaser trailers hoping that they can get it made into a movie, that's great, every wants their films made. But this is the last one of these that I'll ever watch. I like my stories to have a beginning, a middle and a end. It's not much to much to ask for. Change the name.

Lmao! This is like when people thought we'd be having drones delivers us food to our doorstep, turns out its cheaper and easier to just hire people to do this, same here, they built these super expensive robot couriers when you could just hire someone to do it for a fraction of the cost.

That one line says it all: How did we miss this Also, nice Easter egg nod at 5: 00 to classic sci-fi cautionary tale films in Dr. Sarah Kominski's previous employment profile: Omni Consumer Products (RoboCop, Tyrell Corporation (Bladerunner, Cyberdyne Systems (The Terminator!

Hollywood seems to lack ideas so they do reboots, yet here comes stories in Dust, like this one that should be made into movies or even small screen movies of original content and they are ignored. Good work here. Koodoes!

Pretty cool, but some difficulty with the sound. The speaking audio sounded muffled, often overridden by the background music so it was difficult to hear what was being said during the non-shouting parts.
reply

Um. if you just follow it. it is a delivery system it will lead you right to the person that is needed to plug in the drive. It doesn't upload data, just deliver it.
reply

yeah no. a whole movie about that.
a part of a movie where this is used. kinda ok.
like. of course hacker hacked the bot
wooo so classic. roll eyes

The problem has been solved by Ghost In the Shell decades ago, Section9 have robots retyping the data back to the computer. Data is transferred, code is not.

I was really waiting for the pattern on the face plate to change to a Domino's logo. Hi tech pizza delivery. Thirty minutes or less, no matter what.

Very good action movie. Really should have a sequel. Many short films by Dust have good narratives. They depict a possible future good or bad.

Sync are robotic soldiers that are created to do the dirty works for humans and Something tells me these Sync don't do anybody know good
reply

And is there some reason you can't use humans to deliver this stuff
Or a drone
Drones could be hacked
Well why not syncs

reply

This is not a good idea for a short because it is wildly unrealistic. There are reasons why this hasn't happened already.
reply

I gave a like, because the concept is awesome, but can we please stop uploading teasers as if they were short films
reply

drowning out the conversations with loud dramatic music doesn't actually work. More subtlety is required.
reply

it could work as story. My issue is with the cars. That old Mitsubishi kind of ruins the FBI's credibility
reply

seems more like a commercial than a short. That being said, extremely well done, and I’d like to see more
reply

I suspect we're not too far from this. Would love to see this short expanded into a show and/ or movie.
reply

Let the Sync do its delivery however inform the company not to plug the hard drive in - problem sorted.
reply

my problem with these videos is they always seem like a great trailer and then they just stop.
reply

What about the first law if robotics Wouldn't synch be so conflicted as to stop functioning
reply

Why is the third comment not the first one Guys honor the art!
Then state out the quirks; )

reply

I know they need to protect the data but do they need to be literal walking tanks
reply

It's science fiction key word fiction all these negative comments it is what it is relax!
reply

I actually found this really interesting. Is there a part two, by any chance.
reply

Someone let Haz Dulull we are still waiting for the continuation of this project
reply

Seems like Dust always runs out of money so we never see the end of the movie!
reply

A robot like that would be more suitable for delivering my pizza, then any data.
reply

Dust should make our annual corporate/Government cybersecurity breifings.

every single panel, screen, device, has to beep. Or else it's not SciFi, right
