But then you also have to take into account the paradox created. If you go back in time and prevent you mother from marrying a bum, then you would never be born. If you are never born then you would not know about your mothers suffering and murder. Then you would not have been there to warn her of what would happen if she marries the bum. If you do not warn her of what would happen if she marries the bum then she will marry the bum anyway. And you would be born and know all about your mothers abuse and murder.

This was incredibly good but heartbreaking that a daughter goes back in time to save her mother from a bad relationship with her own father, knowing she will never be born when her time in the past is over. I also loved the fact that her mom still goes through with her relationship just to give her daughter life. You're left with the question of did the mother take a different direction with her life after she still married the man with whom she had her daughter with. That would be a great follow up story.

Great short! In 5 minutes tells a complete story, has good performances and excellent visual effects!
In my opinion, showing the self-sacrificing mother that is willing to go through hell for her future (non existent) children says a lot about the way society thinks of women fulfilling their goals in life through motherhood at the expenses of their own safety and wellness

This one is inconsistent!
She wents back in time to warn her mother not to merry this guy.
If her mother did as advised, she would not exist and be able to go back and warn her, .
There is no time paradox.
I come to the conclusion that her mother could not have followed the advice.
The journey through time has not changed anything and was therefore pointless.

So I'm taking it that mom still went through with the marriage just so her daughter could exist And that's why she made a face at the end because if mom didn't go through with it, she would cease to exist, but because she successfully traveled back to her time, it meant her mom went through with it

She reappears back in her own time, looks around and closes her eyes in despair realising that her warning was unheeded and her mom still went ahead and married Michael knowing the truth. Obviously the daughters life was so traumatic she was prepared to die to save her mom a world of grief and probably herself as well. Excellent little short that said a lot.

Thanks to the power of the paradox, there was no other outcome than for her to marry that guy. Otherwise, she would never have gone back in time to stop her mother from marrying him. That's if you use a linear, non divergent timeline of course. Edit: fun thought, maybe she knew that before she traveled back in time, and did so to MAKE SURE she married him

The first problem with thermodynamic arrows of time is that our own 4-dimensional space-time continuum doesn't match the symmetry CPT, therefore, we can only go forward. Ergo: Merely being present when you're not supposed to even be there in and of itself upsets the line, and becomes divergent. Time to go. (blip)

I don't watch tv. Haven't in eons. I work, maybe too often but, I have other things. Whenever I need a break, I come to DUST for content like this. While eating a meal, or just taking a mental break, what have you. Exceptional writing, great execution, amazing short. NICE WORK!

Interesting idea for a story but is it supposed to be paradoxical If she stops her mother from having her she won't exist to come back and stop her mother from having her so she will be born only to come back and try and stop her mother, it's impossible for her to succeed.

Amasing how still close to lesser animals the human females (and males to less degree) are in their crazy blind desire to leave at all costs after their death their progeny to go on suffering and eventually also doomed to die (hopefully, not too painfully.

Very heartwarming! Actual time travel would easily allow saving both mother and daughter by intervening at a different point in time. The urge to sacrifice for our children even to the point of giving up one's life is quite real. Love you.

missed obvious conclusion here: from the perspective of the beta test it appears that it was all a hallucination inside the mind of the traveler who is now utterly convinced their mother knew the whole time.
