Thank you so much for not breaking my heart with this one! It's bad enough that every other touching robot story out there has preprogrammed me to expect the worst and when it doesn't happen I am still aware of all that can and will go wrong for him as his human family grows, changes and dies. Thank you for knowing this and sticking to the beautiful storyline that was being told, instead of dwelling on the bleak, which has just become gratuitous in its awful predictability these days.

Thanks to everyone who made this short film, I wouldn't mind a ROB 9000. Many thanks to DUST as well for a happy ending for a change, when the lights flashed across the windows I thought it was missiles. Started thinking poor Robert his family is gone and he's left all alone. Are there more happy ending shorts to come

At least his folks did come home. Maybe the lesson here is to value those humble beings around us more.
For one of the best short stories on the subject ever, I suggest Ray Bradbury's There Will Come Soft Rains from The Martian Chronicles.

Your film is Awesome! A breath of fresh air after years of killer robots. I agree with others here that it would be way cool to learn more about Robert. Thank you.

Simple yet elegant, the music combined with the warm inviting environment created a surprising level of emotion for such a short video, beautifully done

Was going to hate but this is exactly the kind of eyebleach I needed after binging these darker dust shorts for nearly 3 hours. Now I can keep going.

That was surprisingly sweet. I really enjoyed that. I was quite amazed how much seeming emotion was conveyed in those eyes.

Robots are the new dogs
Wonder how long before it tears up the furniture when they are out. And how they’d deal with it

It is amazing just how emotion Robert conveys by little mechanical gestures. Makes you wonder if machines do have souls.

What happened after the human opened the door Did he kick Robert out Was Robert just wanting to look at the lit up city What

If Evil A. I. gets a chance to take over the world, I’d be the first victim. Can’t resist big-eyed, little robots

Sweet. Clever subversion of expectations: a playful riff against the bleak dystopia that underpins most SciFi.

Just a awesome story. I would love to see a longer movie with this little robot. I love Robert the Robot.
