This is incredibly badly done. Because they just made a zhombie (hollywood zombie) movie with a westernised near future sci-fi version of what China does for, & how they will likely escalate, lockdowns (imprisonment of ordinary people) under the guise of public health & safety. And makes lockdowns (imprisonment of ordinary people) seem like a necessary evil, when done under the guise of public health & safety.
Rather than taking a critical look at the lies of the corrupt people in power, & how they seed easily survivable pathogens all over the world, then lie about it through mainstream media, their allies running social media platforms, & sellout social media influencers, to spread fear propaganda, while attempting to silence those who expose the truth, because they want to increase their control over the personal freedoms of normal people!

Bloody brilliant! Such a refreshing take on the zombie genre, I honestly don't think I blinked whilst watching this fabulous short. The script was extremely well written, with enough hooks to keep me on the edge of my seat and the fantastic cinematography, added a gritty realness many Hollywood blockbusters fail to capture. The acting by the main character was especially inspired, managing to effortlessly portray a character struggling to hold on to his humanity in a post apocalyptic society. I would genuinely love to see this short developed into a feature length film!

So, they have this massively complex system for locking down every room, all this super high-tech infrastructure for the fight against the Zombie virus, right But, they had to drill through to get a camera in, and they never came up with a way to disable a family member if they are suspect/infected The best they can come up with is for someone to just grab them and hold on Ummm, okay

Very realistic in the sense that containment of such a dangerous contagion will be hard and require tough choices. Very unrealistic, though, to think that the LAPD or any government agency would be up to the job, or even get enough control over the spread that this scenario could play out.
I might buy it in another country, though.

Neat lil Movie. First time I've been able to complete one of these low budget productions. So that in itself says something. I was blown away that the acting was good. Better than most NETFLIX shows. Some great similarities to present time. I give this one an A. I don't hand out Bs or As very often. Worth a watch

I think I've committed on this before but I have to again, this magnificent, the actors were completely on point & the execution of the story & the filming was absolutely amazing, I loved it all the way through even though it was heart breaking to see the father to give up his own life to save his child.

This should be made into a movie. This was done really well and to only see the one zombie and how they contained the situation, was by far, the best zombie movie, short movie, whatever you want to call this, in quite some time. It was intense all the way through! Good job. Hope to see more!

Simply magnificently done, in every way. If you loved this, I recommend checking out the book Feed, by Mira Grant (and her whole Newsflesh series) about a modern world with this sort of zombie virus. To Daniel Thron, the writer/director: my highest praise and thanks for this film!

The only thing left to do is to join my voice to the many, many others who ran the gauntlet of emotions and responsibilities and consequences presented by this beautifully executed film. Congratulations, I think you're on your way to a bright, creative future.

Well done by everyone involved, showing the fear, heartache, and desperation that's involved in trying to keep the infection from spreading. Had to be draining on everyone, to have such a level of emotions throughout the filming to make it all seem real.

So glad so many folks are enjoying this; thanks from everyone on the team for checking it out! I'm Daniel, the writer/director - please feel free to AMA about the production. And to the many folks who have said this should be a show - I COULDN'T AGREE MORE! : D

Wow, that was intense! Superb work, with a lot of thought put into the functioning of a society under the threat of zombie infection, nothing like the generic stuff usually associated with the genre, not a single dead beat - really awesome writing!

I definitely want more from this guy. Fantastic work. That was as top quality as any full length feature film. Unknown actors who performed like A listers. Great tension, great dialogue, terrifyingly relatable story. More please.

I liked the acting very much, but talk about depressing. You knowit’s really perfectly possible to wring a good performance out of an actor without having the setting be a hopelessly-screwed world.
reply

I would love to see this concept get expanded upon! The possibility of a feature-length movie helmed by Mr. Thron is very tantalizing! I'm so happy to see that Dust has given Spoiler a wider audience.

well done, that is similar to other stories but generally with the budget limited if we compare it with Hollywood budgets this is a masterpiece. Thank you and keep going

Was the fire system built in or did the guys injected a flammable gas and ignited it If that was built in an episode on malfunction and uninfected people immolation would follow.

That was a spaceship In the sky just a second before the 2 doctors were driving home Yes, it is definitely a mini-series / movie / show. Excellent in every category!

You had me at the sirens and bell going off. loved the lockdown protocol and can actually see that possibly existing in the future, somewhere on the globe. Let's do the movie

I loved every minute of it. I like how they reimagined a zombie infection in a world where we didn't find a cure, but we found a way to keep it under control

This may be the best DUST I've seen. So nice to have a coherent story for a change. Michael Faradie is utterly extraordinary: a sublime but understated humanity.

This was a good one! I recommend even if don't like zombie type stuff. It's not typical zombie'sh instead it's thought-provoking in a different way.

A suspenseful film. A little difficult for me to comprehend the beginning, but the rest is self-evident with good acting.

What he should have said to him was, your child will die regardless if you get in the room just shut the door.
