It's really well done.
It's a slice of a remarkable experience, but the kid was kidnapped. It doesn't matter if it was by a person or an alien. If the story were to continue the parents will be glad to know their son is back, but they would have questions. A new police investigation would have to be opened to catch the predator. This could happen again and indeed it has happened multiple times in the past according to the story.
What did the aliens do with the kid Did they just sit around playing cards and talking about space Cheetos Why did they take him To use his feebable brain for something they can't do with their own brains Did they do stuff to him
Alien stories don't usually dip into the aliens' side of the story, but when they do they aliens are evil, indifferent, or they just need the kids to help with figuring something out. That's dumb.
Once you go down the road of explaining the aliens that's when these stories crumble so I can appreciate why you didn't go there. This is a light story that does what it wants to do brilliantly. Great visual and sound design. Well told.
What am I trying to say I'm not criticizing your story. I guess I wish someone could come up with a really good story that includes the aliens, but I can't imagine what that could be like. You have to have mystery and you don't want to make the aliens silly.
These short films are pulpy. That's why they are usually better than AAA movies nowadays. Reboots of the same old franchises don't make me want to return to the movie theater. How often does a Matrix get released Or an Indiana Jones movie
Creators like you can give us something pulpy. I can't wait to see what you do next.

I am 65, college graduate, golden gloves champion, 3rd degree blackbelt, full ride basketball scholarship, academic scholarship with highest honors, MSHA Instructor, OSHA unlimited Gassy license, Blasters license, Shotcrete certified and some other honors. Just want to say I have seen several OMG flying saucers and miracles. There are beings out there that are battling other beings and serve as our overseers. I do believe GOD is in control but these high tech beings are way ahead of us, and if we do not respect the planet they are going to teach us the meaning of fear and hopelessness. They have been here way before we were and will be here when we are long gone. We need to respect what we have been given in charge of and rise above our differences!

BRAVO Carleton! I actually clapped. It's no easy task to jerk a tear or trigger some deep meaningful emotion within 15 minutes. Incredible! Typically you need a little time to get truly invested in the characters but you absolutely nailed it. I felt Johns pain and perseverance. Your average viewer usually doesn't get that, and why would they But I've done the work. You must be about my age. I'm 47 and I have to say I was transported back to one of the best eras for film. I absolutely loved it. You had an exceptional cast, the writing and the work were superb. To think I took a job with a bum streamer. I just knew this was the work I should've been doing. Be Proud. I'll be following you on IG.

Nice delivery.
It adds to the quandary as to whether or not that amongst the first folks from anywhere might be some early warning scientists who are just out doing some sort of job. Working on midterms or an online application to be a curator at a string of museums. Or even a few rich dooshbags who have absolutely nothing to do except test drive a few new cruise ships with their tricked out life rafts. Maybe make some cool new humans.

. I'd like to know how even though the parents didn't believe the brother, A-LOTTA PEOPLE THAT LIVE RIGHT NEARBY should have been able to see the Craft, It seems Nearly Impossible that NO ONE ELSE but the Boys (& Quinn) could have seen the Craft and that They'd back up the boy's story.
(At least insofar as an Alien-Craft DEFINITELY being Sighted in the Area.

Sweet story. Well done. One thing: when the ship came back the subtitle said Loud Noise and John covered his ears. But when Ryan was taken the ship didn't make the same noise. Just seemed a tad inconsistent. And I'm left wondering why. what are they, the aliens getting out of this A story for another day Transmission 2 I guess.

I don't want to make anyone who worked on this feel bad everyone has to start somewhere, and there's nothing wrong with practice and honing your skill in your art. I applaud the tenacity and the effort. For amateur, low budget films, this was much better than most. I defiantly found it to be slightly kitsch in its sentimentality.

Nice film. The older son tells the truth and none of the adults, save one, believe his story. So if he had told a lie, they would have believed his story.
The possibility of something existing or happening seems to die in those adults who've not had an experience with the event.

Nicely done but this is not sci-fi, that must have some 'scientific' basis, but 'Science Fantasy / horror'. No 'alien' has ever visited our planet nor is likely to do so before our planet is extinct let alone perform the mythical 'abductions'. 'Suspension of Disbelief' - failed!

First of all, there are no aliens from outer space. Second, the only thing that went into outer space is human

This was absolutely amazing, I've loved sci-fi since I was a small child & now I'm 56 years old & I'm always amazed how these type of stories can scare me but at the same time make me feel more human & alive all at the same time so Thank you for making feel.

What a lovely short film, emotive, heartwarming, atmoshpheric and extremely well and cleverly directed giving it an epic film like quality. A very good choice of music to and subtle use of cheap but very effective special effects. There is some real talent here.

A beautifully-crafted filmvery much enjoyed! In my experience, it’s rare for a writer-director to pull off a good film, they’re either too much of one and not enough of the other, or not enough for both at once. You did yourself proud Carletonwell done!

why couldn't they show what the parents would have to say now
it really irks me how movies ALWAYS. ALWAYS have parents completely dismissing and even to the point of punishing kids when they say they have seen something incredible. It's so unrealistic.
