Evolution of Horizon Zero Dawn [2011-2022]

With the release of Horizon Forbidden West in 2022, it-s time for the Evolution of Horizon Zero Dawn! HZD is one of my favourite games of all time. I love the characters and the dynamics between some of them. There are some incredibly powerful moments. Lansra saying to Rost about baby Aloy, To raise it, yes. We said nothing of love! It sets up everything perfectly, how society feels about her and how Rost and Teersa feel about her. I even like the writing around Olin, although it could have been explored a little better, he knew that Aloy was the girl they were looking for and even though they knew they were seeing what he could see, he tried to ignore her and walk away, but it was Aloy pressed the situation. People sometimes call Aloy a Mary Sue but thats unfair as she has had to fight for everything from such a young age, yet, at times she can be still overwhelmed and people ignore that. Ive watched a couple of lengthier pieces on it, even so, there were a few things that were new to me. Really well presented and feels much longer than 11 mins (in a good way) Quality little video.\r\n

I started playing Horizon Zero Dawn for the first time this month. I'm thoroughly enjoying it. I'm glad Guerilla made the conscious choice to reduce the map size. Many open world games became overwhelming. There was always too much traversing and sparsity between points of interest. Horizon Zero Dawn never feels empty. It's the perfect map size. This proves that you don't need the largest maps to create a great game.

Guerilla and PS: Forbidden west almost out
Me: Finally, I can play the HZD on my low end PC.
Kinda sad, isnt it? :( But still, I dig it! :D I am currently 31 and still not in Meridian LOL Now, for me, just need to wait like 4 years t on the 2nd part xd. +EDIT: GREAT VIDEO! ;D

Reason why guerrilla was able to transition so well from shooter to open world is because they had patience, took their time, believed in the project, lots of passion and dedication, and listened to feedback. All very important qualities to make any game company good

I am currently running through my first play through of it and i just discovered the main story of what happened to The Old Ones and wow- i am in AWE! This game is a MASTERPIECE! If you have not played it, you need to. Its incredible.

I've still yet to play this. The file is just sitting there on my hard drive waiting to be used. I think the best/worst thing about holidays is so many games go on special, but then you can't decide what to play.

I just finished Horizon today, was 100% sure it was an Assassins Creed spinoff until this video. Identical gameplay except Horizon was great. Guess I'll look for a PS5 for the sequel, really looking fwd.

Played this on PC in its entirety finally last month. Easily one of the best games and stories. I have not wanted to 100% a game in so long till Zero Dawn. They definitely put in the work.

That game was honestly very boring and the missions felt like a chore, ig its fun but i don't wanna play 50 missions with the exact same ennemies or boring story to go to another location
reply

oh god i can still remember the excitement when i first saw the trailer of this game. one of my favorite and fortunately they will be also releasing forbidden west on ps4. so excited.

I still think Witcher 3 is the best open world game every made, BUT I had the most fun I've ever had gaming on my original play-through of Horizon Zero Dawn. Best original storyline ever

1000 years! This whole time I thought it was 500, 000 years! I always thought it was weird how little the humans progressed even though it's been such a long time but now it makes sense.

Who remembers Crysis(2007, when we were impressed how was the game better than the trailer itself, now this game repeats the time with being better as the new version of it.

Horizon is great, but honestly, everyone is waiting for a new Killzone game now. It proved to be the Halo killer we were looking for, and we need another one soon

Did you pay some dude to narrate this? The writing seems to be done by someone knowledgeable but the way the dude speaks sounds he has no clue what he's on about.
reply

Lol it doesn-t even matter, the game is just a ripoff of assassins creed, -BUT THERES A GIRL IN IT- -every virgins mind = more sales of a shit game smdh

I'm hoping the -horse riding- is improved in Forbidden West. It was one of the things I didn't like and found walking to be easier
reply

Is this game worth it now? Can anyone say what kind of game it is besides an open world rpg what game is this comparable to?
reply

Never played this game but this video was made so perfect that I just have to play it now before the sequel comes out.
reply

-It took them two years to develop the Thunder Jaw! -
And it takes some people only two seconds to destroy one!

reply

its great the amount of people in the comments who talk about how amazing the story is without giving any spoilers
reply

I used all my Christmas money which was on a gift card on this game it was worth it I can-t wait for the sequel
reply

horizon zero dawn was a disappointment on pc- i didn-t remember the game being that bad when i finish it on ps4-
reply

Well here's to hoping the PC port doesn't take too long for forbidden west and the port isn't terrible, that too
reply

I finally managed to snag one of those regella editions on PS Store. That thing was out of stock so quickly
