Koopas aren't Turtles. Turtle's shells are fused with their spines, so they would die if the shell was removed, not simply become almost naked. They also have beaks (Except Bowser and his offspring/adopted children, so...). The normal ones have parrot-like beaks, the hammer/fire/boomerang (etc.) bros have beaks like those of birds of prey and lakitu bros... also don't have beaks. So it's extremely inconsistent. There are other factors, such as the fact that some have shell spikes and if spins and buzzy beetles are koopas then it just gets even weirder. So yeah. Also fun fact: In Italian, Mario means -One who is warlike- (or it can mean bitter, but...) and Luigi means great warrior. Nintendo thought those names through.

Yeah.... I greatly disagree with Number 2. It's true a lot of enemies Mario faces are weak as hell, but the other enemies clearly aren't any joke. Bowser in particular has survived batshit insane shit and his actions caused the universe to be reset, plus, Mario's done superhuman shit all the time (like lift up castles)

I think that the mario games are like setups/ staged stuff because in new super mario bros and others have an audience that claps whenever you collect red coins or collect all the star coins. And mario 64 has a camera crew

I have this theory that mario and luigi are based on 2 historic anarchists: Mario Buda and Luigi Galleani. I have no proof of this but I find it to be an interesting -coincidence- that these characters share those names.
