10 ways non-gamers disappoint their gamer friend

Number 10 Which is about skipping scenes reminded me of something about the gamer community where I live,
back in the beginnings of the millennium where PCs or Gaming console started to become available or even prominent at some point, gamers whither in internet cafes or at home used to have mainly ripped versions of games (which had removed cutscenes & videos), for example back in 1990s I had the game (Claw), now this game was ultimately popular to a level but most even almost all of those who played it didn't have the original but a pirated version (I will explain the reason to that is the end-) and It was ripped of all cutscenes, this meant that no one knows the story, now I had the original version which was brought to me from abroad, and each time I talked to some who played it I found out they had no Idea what the story was.
This was also existent in games like red alert 2 or any game that utilized video cutscenes. as for other games that included in-game cutscenes they were skipped almost always because of the language as most games didn't have localization in Arabic, and people didn't understand what the game was about (to the level that people used to memorize the choices on the main menu sometimes so not to get lost) so multiplayer gaming was more prominent plus sports gaming.
in such community where you started gaming early and understand English, and actually enjoyed the story like the original Mafia or Max Payne or any game that contains amazing single player experience and story, It was really painful not to share such experience even among gamers themselves.
-: now to explain the reason why pirated versions were prominent rather than originals:
1- there were almost no one to provide retail copies of the games or where to buy them back in that time where digital copies and platforms were not a thing yet, so even PlayStation games were downloaded, burned & even sold for a very small sum of money. like (5 pounds).
2- games are really, really expensive, yes a 60 dollars or 50 euros or equivalent may for Americans be a lot specially where you are trying to buy several games and the dlcs etc.
but for most gamers in some countries in the middle east like Egypt or Sudan etc. this -most of the time- in the equivalent of a month's rent or half a person's monthly salary (1500 pound), and this applies to all products whether software or educational. this is a lot! It's sometimes illogical to ask a gamers to buy a high end pc with the cost of 7 months rent & then fill the library. and the companies don't even care (you're not targeted by this software or that product, you're not in there target audience at all, and even when they tried to expand to the middle east they choose to expand to countries like UAE or KSA where people are doing well economically, but other countries trust me when I say not targeted mainly or certain part of the society is targeted, So for the average citizen it's really not available to buy it unless on a really really good sale. I am saying this when I am actually doing good in terms of money, but it really hurts that this is out of consideration for many people who are making games & software.)
3- this is not in defence of piracy -per say- but rather an explanation of the situation why the gamers community here is lacking in terms of singleplayer, story, etc.
and of course it's different now than let's say 15 years ago, but It's still very unusually expensive for most people & unfair.
now trying to be a gamer in such reality and telling your gamer friend, did you like the story will get you such a reply like skipping, and I am saying gamer friend! :D

#1 thing from my non-gamer friends is when they ask me -what kind of games do you play?-. I play a lot of different types of games. After explaining they continue to seem interested and proceed to inquire about what I'm currently playing in my spare time, -what's that game like?- they'll ask. As you get into telling them about it they quickly lose interest and start to dismiss the game or insinuate that gaming in general is dumb. It's kinda like, why did you even ask me about it in the first place? What was the point? I know you don't like gaming, so I don't talk about it with you. So why then are you bringing it up and then dismissing it part way through the convo because you think gaming is dumb. Ask me about anything else you actually want to talk about, don't ask me about stuff you're just going to insult without really knowing anything about it.

I was hoping this shit was sarcasm. Pretty much with the exception of two things it is just a friend wanting to actually be in the real world with you and that pisses you off. It comes down to one simple thing, -I do not want friends I want to play my games and when I do want friends I want it to be on my time-. That is some next level narcissism there. Then they wonder why the only friends they have are on the network or discord. No normal person is gonna deal with these terms. I am a gamer and even to me they are unrealistic.

This happens to me a lot, not sure if anyone can relate. But my friend and I will be playing a co op game, we get to a difficult part or hard boss fight and as soon as we die once or twice he's just immediately done with the game, doesn't wanna play that game anymore and then we end up doing something else less fun when I'm now sitting over here like a hit hamburger cause I was getting into the challenge

All my friends like cod, and multiplayer. I do too, but as an introvert I just can-t handle talking or dealing with people. So I know a lot of good story games while they have some good gameplay games. It is kinda frustrating when we get excited and show each other and neither really cares.

Anyone suffering from #1 should remember that if your friend forgets about playing a game with you and keep putting you off, they probably aren't your real friend anyway. Move on. Hell with those people.
