Saints Row: 10 Things You NEED TO KNOW When the new SR was first revealed, I'll be honest, I was upset. I didn't like the direction they chose to take with the characters and how the setting and world didn't really seem to look like a 2022 game, rather it looks like a 2014 addition to the previous series. With that said, I'm at a point where I think the game will probably be a good little fun with friends and probably a good game to just go around and trash things up. But, I really feel that, in the back of my head, I'm going to be continuously wondering what if they went bigger, what if the setting was more grounded, what if they characters were toned back a bit to an in-between of SR: 2 and SR: 3. There will just be so many what ifs I will be thinking about. I haven't gotten my hands on the game yet, obviously, but from everything we've seen so far, I really think this is a game out of its time, especially in a post-GTA: Online/GTA5 world. SR has always been a AA game riding on the coattails of the GTA experience, but as the series got further along it started to develop an identity that could push the series forward and potentially net itself AAA status, but I believe the gap between 4 and this iteration has stagnated the series. It will have been nearly a decade between entries and the gaming space has developed and changed rapidly during that time. This is actually one of the reasons I'm concerned for the next GTA. GTA: Online has done so much, and changed so much in the last decade that the next GTA has to fills its own shoes and then add on top of that, and that's going to be a hard order to fill. Overall, I think the game looks fresh, in the sense that we haven't seen an entry in a decade, but looks dated because it has a perception of a rebooted game for the series made directly after 4 rather than something new for 2022.

Every single video I've watched for this game talks about the wingsuit and that's one of my main concerns. When I'm seeing that get talked about more frequently than vehicles and vehicle customisation it makes me feel like a lot of people will end up using the wingsuit as their main way of getting about. Had people argue before that this won't be the case but that comparison to just cause just kinda confirmed that it will be, at least in my mind

Love SR2. 3 was kinda meh. 4 sucked. Given that so many games are unplayable out of the gate I'll wait on this one. I just don't buy games when new any longer. By the time I get around to it legit reviewers I trust will actually show play through of the game and let me know whether it's crap or not. Besides I'm not on Epic so waiting a few years to see if it ever gets to Steam on the cheap is also a factor.

This game is just odd to me. the environments and character designs look more realistic and serious, but the animations and gameplay look more in line with Saints 3, if it was watered down a bit. Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but I get the feeling this game went through a lot of changes and different directions during its development. Almost like two games were merged into one.

The reveal video was pretty terrible, but the more we've seen of the gameplay the more excited I am for this. The new setting is fantastic, especially after how drab Stillwater and Steelport got, the customization looks incredible, even for Saints Row, and they've dialed back the batshit insanity that was in 4, which is a bonus in my book.
Optimistically hype for this now.

WHY TF do they keep going in this direction with this series?
This series started off as a sometimes serious gangster game and now your gangster crew look like 2020 college kids and the story looks to be terrible. I m replaying Saints Row 2 rn because it s free on Xbox Gold and I have 0 hype for this game, it s just Watch Dogs 2 with a Saints Row texture pack over it

The character model customization is very limited. The body types are same for male and female and the only things separating males from females character models is having feminine breasts/lumps or masculine muscles.
Very limiting. Not appealing at all. I would only play as a male in this version because the female model customization sucks.

It's good to hear they transferred over most of older SR features with a slight twist. They make it sound like new features, but it'd just more of what we're re used to packaged a bit differently. Only real new thing I saw was the car shooting. But at least it looks more fun than with the first trailers.

To each their own. Personally I bounce off just about every single aspect of these games. the art style, the 'comedy', the world / lore (or what there is of it, the characters, even the gameplay which is just too much imo. Everything. Love to see others enjoying games, but another hard pass from me.

I'm definitely been keeping an eye on this game it seems in the game play but we'll I'll probably wait a few months after it drops because I don't want to be disappointed after I play it day one like when I bought jump force. I pre ordered it played the game and was disappointed

obviously wont be Lan capable sadly not wanting players having the best possible experience. the net has done more to ruin & hold back gaming & never achieved anything promised. if I cant play offline wont even touch a timed service trying to pass itself as a game.

i don t think saints row 3 remastered is worth it i got it a while ago and got most the way through the game with my girl and now we cant finish the play through cause it just loads forever and not gonna restart it when we had like 3 missions left

Seems like an unpopular opinion, but i hate Epic Store exclusives. I want all my saves / achieves in one location, the remaster was exclusive for a whole year too. So here's to hoping this is only like 6 months, because it looks actually hella good.

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I hope there theres some sort of nod to the ending of sr4. Like maybe the saint s going back in time is the reason for the reboot. I m sure we won t see any old characters but an easter egg would be cool
