6 video games series that went downhill

We love video games, but some games series and franchises have disappointed us lately or fell out of public favor. Let's discuss a few of them Godof: This is a little different, but.. Max Payne. I really hated the third one (some people didn-t), and it-s really not anyone-s fault, it-s just a series that doesn-t work in the modern world of gaming unfortunately.
Max Payne 1 and 2 were perfect games, built around the bullet time/shoot-dodging mechanic. But in a modern third-person shooter people expect 1) smarter AI, and 2) cover mechanics. If the enemy NPCs just ran around without taking cover people would call it bad AI, but when they-re all hiding behind cover, jumping out into the middle of a room is suicide; you spend the whole time flying through the air shooting at walls and tables and whatever else the enemy is hiding behind, then you land in the middle of the floor laying there as an easy target. Bullet time is only good for making headshots easier while hiding behind cover, and I went the hours at a time in Max Payne 3 forgetting it was even a thing, and it was basically just a generic third-person shooter.
Again, this is no one-s fault, and it-s totally different than series that went downhill because of poor decisions on the developers- part. It-s just an interesting example of game mechanics that were amazing 20 years ago that just don-t work with all the advancements in gaming. It was just so much fun at the time and I-m sad that it can-t go on forever :( the first two are still fun to replay though.

At Risk of Controversy. Halo. This was one of my favourite series. 1,2,3 was some of the best gameplay and stories ide experienced. Then they had what ide call the -different but ok- with ODST, Reach. But halo 5 and from what I've played of there newest title. Just hasn't felt the same. I am yet to find the time to complete the campaign but there is something that's not sparking the same drive as it used too. To dive in find the quirkiness. And explode some grunts into confetti. Let me k ow your thoughts

I was expecting Halo to be number one, because in my option the Halo series has seriously dropped in its place in the video game world. But then you had to go and mention Dynasty Warriors - I used to love those games and spent so much time playing 5 back on the PS2. I still honestly bring it out and play it from time to time and oh do I wish there was a modern game on a modern system that just played and felt like 5

half of the games on this list is EA's product,I for one personally loves battlefield franchise, when the BF3 came out, that's when I built my first PC, which is such a long and pain in the ass process cuz I didn't even know what's actually in PC,and after all of that, the moment I was in the subway map, I knew it was all worth it. my mind was just blown away, til today BF3 is still the best FPS game I've ever experienced.

I will never understand how companies manage to make good games bad. I mean, you had some part figured out already, all you had to do was NOT TOUCH IT and just update some stuff or add features.
I still play football manager 09 because it had the best match AI, there was 5 releases after that one and each one got worse.

I would add Resident Evil to that list too, although they did somewhat turn the series around with 8. 5,6, and 7 were not enjoyable though. Activision Games and Blizzard games are also almost universally trending downhill: CoD, Assassin's Creed (except Odyssey), Diablo, World of Warcraft. I might put Pokemon on there too.

Red faction went downhill, was great on ps2 as a shooter with destruction then came 360s open world but then they made a sequel which was complete ass abd not open world, how does a sequel to a open world game not be open world

Putting Mass Effect ahead of Battlefield is just pure disrespect. Even though I personally hate the game, Andromeda at its worst is a thousand times better than the last two Battlefields at their best.

If it weren't for the bugs, which were fun, ya'll just take them way too seriously, battlefield 2042 would've easily been the best one, and I still think it's the best one even now, the bugs were fun

Battlefield peaked with Bad Company 2 - went downhill after that because it was made to be more like COD. I did enjoy 3, 4, 1 and 5 for what they were but 2042 was utter trash.
