Reminder that it feels like a 1. 0 Early Access title because it is. This was the final version of the game that they intended to officially launch. They decided like three weeks ago to do EA instead because feedback is important. It'll only be in EA for about 8 months according to them, but that's likely to change. My guess is they knew it wasn't actually finished, there's plenty of stuff that's missing and probably needs to be patched it, but for a 30 price tag forever, I'm not upset. Just a lot of people defending genuine issues people are having with It's Early Access, what do you expect? when in reality, this is what they planned to release as a full release from the start.

I wish we had a way to communicate basic things to the natives, and especially when it comes to dealing with the mutants. Hey, not here to pick a fight, these things are dangerous. I will help you fight them, if you help me fight them. Or alternatively, Hey, I don't want to fight you, but I will defend myself. Or better yet, have a special event where they have someone injured and they are important to a leader, and you provide medical aid to them. That specific tribe would have a clear way of identifying themselves to you, and they will be passive towards you as long as you don't harm them intentionally.

So far, building a base is pointless. Just pitch a tent and thats all you need. The building is just for the fun of it, which I dont do. The game is not really a survival game in multiplayer. There is no impending doom. You die as many times as you want, you respawn. Nothing survival about that. Mostly its just an empty world that is huge. Walking simulator with little things scattered far and wide. Its fun, but there needs to be more to the game. I hope they add a ton more. Its very empty.

There was no need to buy it within a day it was cracked and within a day I managed to play it and now that I know this game runs on my computer now Will buy the game to support the devs. One tip for people who want to play all you need is a 8GB ram and more V RAM I add 20GB of V Ram and the game no longer crashed its working the only thing that you will experience is sometimes stutters but this is to be expected but its running smooth and having so much fun already.

To sum it up, wait for humble bundle. My experience with the forest is love hate. The game is definitely exciting, but the thing that killed it for me was in mid beta, they decided it was more important to port the game into every console and VR. The game still had tons of bugs/glitches and so much to expand upon. One random day it was full release. without fixing previous known issues.

As a left eye dominant ambidextrous person, I m surprised that this game portrays the protagonist like this too. The player draws the bow with their left hand implying left eye dominance, because that s how you shoot a bow when you re left eye dominant. But all other one handed weapons are used with the right hand. Just an interesting bit of information for you

Can someone explain to me the point of the game? I have the first one but never completed and really want to buy and get into this but is there a plot or is it just build and survive? Are there main/side quests available. I kind of like direction or reward for searching different areas if that makes sense. Someone convince me! Also, is there controller support?

The only thing I will tell everyone is save as frequent as you can. I was already 4 hrs in the game, got attacked by those cannibals and died. This is the first time I played this game and I did not know it does not have autosave function and so I restarted, from the very beginning. I don't even know if I am going to play it again

One thing I hope this game has is: if it rains/snows, I don't want to see rain/snow inside my base. A big killer of immersion for me in survival games is the environment clipping through something I spent time building and then I'm not happy with what's been built because it looks silly/doesn't function as it should.

Honestly, both the forest and Sons of the Forest have the best enemy survival AI I've ever seen. Having the enemies move around watching you without attacking, either getting close or at a distance, and reacting to your actions is just a phenomenal feature that every survival with enemies should have.

i refund the game just after a 30 min or so, it was fun back then when in university me and friends use to play it all night, but now we all got busy with our own life and it's not fun without friends, and the game doesn't have thay epic intro like the previous game so it wasn't that mysterious anymore

ive been loving it so far but the only problem ive had this entire time is the waterfall noises. if you begin in the snow mountains theres a large waterfall about 2 minutes away from following the stream that has the audio overlapping and looping on itself, causing a really intrusive+buggy noise

wanna play the game but no boats no quick slots and you can't move when you have the book and backpack out just makes me not want to also no log sled? looks fun but i am not going to play for a bit and hopefully the community feels the same and will share opinions and they will listen.
