Resident Evil 4 Remake - Before You Buy Artu: Did you feel the aim was an issue at all? I know some people who played the chainsaw demo felt the aiming was just. off. I'll be playing on Xbox Series X, so when I tried the demo out. I had a really hard time lining up my headshots even after adjusting acceleration and speed in the settings. Like, occasionally I'll make a headshot or two, but it's really, really hard to do in comparison to RE2R and RE3R. This might be because the Ganados are so aggressive, but I don't know.
You guys had an early review copy of the game, so is the aiming fixed there? Is it something I need to worry about?

Just wish my laptop was more capable to fully run this at its best. I played the demo with all settings on low and it ran smoothly, despite some sounds getting off sync. Just not sure if it is worth it to try to play through if my system specs are the minimum as my processor was running at almost always 99% as was my graphics card. That is the worst thing about these new games. They are always getting graphically more intensive and need higher Virtual Ram and processing power and if you're running an older build and don't have the resources to dump into another 1000 plus system it seems you're out of luck in experiencing it yourself and reliant on watching a playthrough.

First re game I played was Re4. I remember that I could play more than 30 minutes without pausing since the game freaked me out so much. I'm not in a hurry to say hello back to the regeneradores. They are creepy and freaky as hell. I also wonder if I'm still gonna see my ganados in the fridge. Anyone remembers him?
I instantly loved the 5th, 6th, the two revelations, the 8th since they added the 3rd person perspective and the remakes. Yes I never played the original 1, 2, 3 and code Veronica. I don't like the fixed camera nor the 1st person perspective in a game.

I'm one of the only people that couldn't get myself to finish the original but man the demo got me, I'm sold and in love. Almost glad I waited. The RE Engine is GORGEOUS. Currently doing a marathon of all the remakes, and Jake is so right about RE games having something special going on with the second play through. RE3 Remake was PUNISHING and I felt it was super linear compared to RE2 but on the second play through I loved it and it gave you opportunities to really change things up and learn racoon city which made it seem way less linear. Awesome! Great video

The RE4 demo for all devices and both versions (RE4 & RE4 remake) have all been a perfect introduction to the main game. I remember playing the RE4 demo on itouch back in the day haha. I recently bought RE4 in 2019 and finally finished last week. I see why it s a fan favorite. The RE4 remake demo ran a bit choppy on my Xbox series S so I m forced to get it on PC which is no biggie. But it just proves my point that the console versions aren t done justice I think. Aiming in RE2 remake demo on console was atrocious and this still has a similar system.

I was really young when the original released but that didn t stop me from attempting to make it my first Resident Evil experience. But I remember not liking it because at that time I was so spoiled by games that gave you extreme levels of movement freedom such as PS2s pantheon of platformers and Kingdom Hearts style combat. The weight of the character and shooting while standing still I just didn t enjoy.
Then last year I played Biohazard and Village on release and it all clicked. Super excited to experience this legend for the first time.

I was already pretty confident in this Remake. But if Jake loved it, Ik it's gonna be a good time. I've also been playing RE games from the first one(start with 2, then played 1. So leon is one of the oldest character I've known and loved in gaming. RE4 has a special place in my heart, played it on PC and PS2 like 15+ times(have lost count. So yeah I'm gonna play the hell out of this game. Hope it has all the DLCs like the original. Separate ways, assignment ada, stuff like that was fun.

Jake, I don't know how you do this to me. I've been avoiding anything about this remake because I am a huge Re fanboy that wanted to just preorder, jump in and fall in love again. I played Re4 on the Wii many years ago and fell in love, with a rather burning passion. Been obsessed with the series ever since. The second I saw this video I knew I was watching it because I respect Mr Baldino so much. I know he knows how gamers think and feel. I can't wait to play this game. Thank you King

When I finally got to play this game, I got to a point where it was all I was doing, it was clunky at times, and managing Ashley was hard, but the game is really good. I miss Ada bonus content and the Mercenaries from this game. New game plus is good because you can add to your inventory and it makes the game even better. From what we can see from the video footage of the new one, they made it better in every aspect, so I'm really looking forward to playing it soon.

I love the expanded colour palette of the village area, having a bit more green and yellow. However, the original's narrower greyish/black/brown palette lends a morbidly severe and horrific tone to the environment. I'm not saying the new art style and graphics ruins the game by any means, but there is something to the original's style and even its original word font that gave it a more horrific feeling.

Thanks Jake for NOT spoiling the game or being a Jack unlike IGN. They showed WAY too many boss battles and story in there review. If you played the original, you can see where they shouldn't had shown you anything. I think they even showed the last boss and said it was. Maybe the last parts wrong, but they still showed way too much of the game. Clearly Capcom didn't speak with them oddly.

Played the original 4 on multiple consoles, including 5 starring the mercenaries and having my infinite handcannon fun, looking forward to see what's added here. It's refreshing to see how much is added and how perfect a remake can truly be. I feel I'll still play the OG for nostalgic purposes here and there, but this is gonna be my newest primary once I get it.

I was never a fan of the original RE4. Like you said, it was the beginning of the downturn for RE as a franchise.
It was, and is a great game, but not a good RE imo.
That all said, I'm looking forward to getting the remake. The demo played really well, looked great and had a bit more of a horror feel to it than the og.

I'm interested in playing fully, bu I doubt it will live up to my love of the original. The demo is neat, but Leon's performance seems lackluster compared to the original, at least with the Bingo quote. But the OG is one of if not my all-time favorite games, so it's hard to beat that image of the game in my mind, but we will see.

Did they do that thing that they did with RE8 where they tried to take themselves WAAAAYYY too seriously with their ridiculous story? What made RE4 so good was that they leaned into the campiness and ridiculousness. If they don't do that and end up going the RE8 route, then I can't see this being good in any way.
