Lol. so.
No love for God of War (2018) or Ragnarok Anyone who's played these games knows that simply being called the God of War doesn't make you an all-powerful character. In both games, unless you're on easy mode you can get your ass handed to you in the beginning. Hell, you can get your ass handed to you throughout if you aren't careful. But by the end once you've maxed out that skill tree, got your armor and abilities the way you like them, now you feel like a TRUE God that could whoop Odin's ass.
Ghost of Tsushima is another one. you start out with NOTHING and knowing very little. As you get better and better and unlock more skills, better armor, better weapon upgrades, etc, you become SAMURAI, capable of switching between bow and sword and other weapons/tactics on a whim. Capable of taking on a swarm of various enemies from archers to big shield dudes and switching between miltiple stances with muscle memory. You used to SNEAK in to villages to take them over, now you ride in on your Samurai horse and challenge all enemies, immediately killing 3-4 of them and terrifying the rest so much they drop their weapons and run away.
Now THAT is going from zero to hero. Starting out as some lowly Samurai lord to some powerful clan leader and becoming the GHOST of Tsushima! Yeeeaaahhh boi!

the number of wizards and witches in hogwart's legacy that chooses the dark arts and the dark path, proves how much the fans and gamers aren't satisfied being mere aurors or mere silly mundane mages.
everyone wishes to be as strong as possible, also if JKR would have added even more forbidden spells, we would have collected them all, and used them nonstop, because being unapologitically evil / over powered in these games is our dream!
i wouldn't be shocked if the wizarding world really existed. azkaban would have gone fully used and even in need for more cells!
since majority if not all the fans would go straight to it! also i bet the dementors would have developed fear from the fans who don't fear them, but rather like them!
1 spell that instantly finishes off your enemy
1 spell that causes great pain
1 spell that is used as mind control.
that's it couldn't think of even stronger or worse effects how boring.

I agree with Hogwarts being here as it did trivialize and prematurely end the game for me. It's been a while, but I think it was the DOT damage upgrades that you could pump to levels that just made every fight feel dumb.
Also I would add Starfield to this list as a handful of powers that you get make the game impossible to lose, even on the highest difficulty. Hence why the ship combat feels completely out of sync with the difficulty settings - because you have no powers linked to ship combat.

Fun fact about infamous: If you're in an area without power, find a street light, a bench, a manhole cover, anything made of metal, and fire the weak shock at it a half dozen times or so to conduct electricity through it, then absorb it. You always get back more than you put in, and it makes it so you don't need charging stations or power grids. Instant power on the go, and it's pretty fast and easy too.

Warframe. Week 1 of playing you're briskly jogging through missions & barely understand what your character's powers actually do. After a month, you're bullet jumping while creating localized black holes, summoning The Kraken, casting meteor every 3 seconds or electrocuting every enemy in range. And you're still not at full power! It's known as a power fantasy game, and it definitely lives up to that hype.

The take on the warfarer class from DD2 is off. The pawns say it themselves jack of all trades can be a master of none
If you take warfarer, you give up one of your precious ability slots to switch weapons. Additionally, you are locked out of the best ability for each class (the ones that unlock by using scrolls. Its cool for sure and has its uses, but you lose the ability to use some really cool skills

That's the thing about games you love to play. You FIGHT through the first couple of play throughs. But then you get GOOD, and just walk through the levels. You enjoy the game equally BOTH ways. Sometimes I power myself down to enjoy the challenge. But other times, I just walk through, in my POWER stance. & funtime ROMP the game! Love it either way. To me, this is the JOY of gaming!

Regarding Dragons Dogma 2, it’s warfarer, not wayfarer. But seeing as the latter is an actual word, I can understand where the confusion comes from.
Also, I’d argue that warfarer isn’t really more powerful than other vocations. It’s just that just about every vocation is insanely powerful by the time you max them out. So you’re definitely OP by the end.

Although not as drastic, the sharp increase in Minecraft from punching wood with your fist and cowering in a hole on night one to beating down hellspawn entities and surviving literally anything with the totem of undying and a fully powered beacon.
Just look and most of the surviving x amount of days in Hardcore minecraft series' Insane the shit they do

I’m surprised Arkane’s Prey wasn’t on the list. You start out hitting with a wrench and you finish literally exploding mimics with Kinesis. All the buffs to strength and health along with all the mimic powers makes you pretty unstoppable by the end of the game. New Game plus you can just fly through if you keep your Neuro mods and upgrades.

I'd nominate Kingdom come: deliverance. You are the ultimate chump at the start, barely able to beat up the local loser in a fist fight. If more than one peasant attacks you, you will have to run away. By the end you can gleefully mow down entire camps of bandits, or cities of guards with no greater consequence than feeling a bit hoongry

Nah, PoE Uber bosses no joke unless you have a bosser based upon years of knowledge and weeks of theorycrafting (or some new league bs. Only difference is speed, and that’s because people build for that. If you ever start playing PoE with 0 knowledge and guidance you’ll feel good for getting to maps, but that’s just the start.

Horizon: Zero Dawn In the early levels, I was focusing on stuff like stealth and strategy and pick your battles, that's a damn bellowback over there. I eventually got gud, and beat the game, and then in new game I was charging directly at massive, monstrous robots that would've mulched me in a fair fight my first time through.

As a swede, born in Sweden with a. Immigrant parent. If there is a nation that's a meltingpot as the US used to be. Sweden is today. At my place of work. We are 5 bosses. On swede and 4 of us are either immigrants or have parents that are mmigrant.
The discussion in the US and UK seems so far off from reality.

Another strong example for me would be Vampire Survivors. You start of with a simple whip, being chased around my the starting enemies and towards end game you can destroy all hordes of enemies when they barely make it on screen. Such a great game to play though the first time, going from strength to strength.

I don’t understand how Prototype never makes it onto lists like these. Consuming every enemy and any NPCs, destroying tanks and helicopters with your bare hands, the insanely awesome list of powers you can unlock
There has never been a game that made me feel so unstoppable by the end.

Surprised to see Earth Defense Force on top of the list.
Even at end game high level enemies can still smoke a player in a few seconds. It can actually get very tactical
With the popularity of Helldiver 2, hope more people will find out about EDF

Hard disagree with Sons of the Forest. I find that the normal bow is still really good as you just have to keep going for headshots and then retrieve your arrows which is pretty easy on keyboard and mouse. So you're pretty powerful right from the start.

In Ghost Of Tsushima, towards the end of the game after having found the legendary techniques/weapons/armor and having unlocked a large part of the skill tree I felt like I could defeat an entire army of Mongols alone and come out unscathed
