Yeah I was disappointed.
That trailer was the reason why I jumped from the ps2 to the ps4.
I also saw the Thief gameplay vids and was impressed that the fingers were apart cause mind you I was playing San Andreas back then when the fingers were attached to each other

I don't understand why are we calling Cyberpunk 2077 an rpg. It was marketed as an rpg but after the release even in their own site they changed the labeling to action adventure. I mean at its final state, it could be at best an ARPG but in its core it most definitely is not an rpg. I don't understand why western media always puts an rpg tag to any game videogmae that includes the tiniest option to have elements of choice in it. Even now with its rpg elements greatly infused to game, cp77 is not the promised RPG experience. However a great Action game with its rpg elements.

Honestly I felt like Assassin's Creed Mirage kinda lied to it's audience. It claimed to be a return to the assassin and stealth focus of the older games. However the parkour is clunky, the combat is horrible, and its main assassinations are nowhere near as good as a game like Unity. Plus the cutscenes are awful and it has the exact same hud as Vallhalla. Basically it's Valhalla with a half assed Assassin's Creed skin.

Unfortunately I was fooled by the Dragon age trailer as a youth. I wasn't too much into top down RPGs at the time either but honestly while I felt mis leaded to start with I stuck with the game and gave it a fair shake only for it to end up being one of my most memorable gaming experiences even to date and It sparked my love for games like that. So I guess what I am saying is 10/10 would get scammed again

This problem is so much more prevalent in the AAA game market. Its amazing how often I go to a steam page for a AAA game and just have to scroll through all the videos pictures and not seeing any from gameplay. I frankly just don't buy any game that doesn't show gameplay now; I don't give a shit how your ingame cinematics look better than theatre movies, I buy a game to have game play.

I vividly remember picking up Dragon Age Origins in 2010 at Gamestop. I was looking for an action game, and remembered the trailer. I thought at worst its a Diablo clone. Boy. oh boy was I pleasantly dead wrong! What ensued was the best game I had ever played up to that point. And replayed many times since. I sincerely wish they could recapture that magic

Great video as always! I definitely remember my personal hype for Bioshock Infinite, feeling like I was going to be able to have that open world feel, playing one of my favorite frachises(Bioshock is one of the best ever, imo) Pretty much just like you said, I liked the game but felt a little misled into what it was going to be. FF15 is a game I wish had retained much of what was originally planned for Versus 13. It looked and sounded far more interesting, and combat looked a lot more fun too; basically, an FF game with Kingdom Hearts 2 combat. But alas, they chose to pivot away into something that, while not the worst, was a big disappointment.

The video to make Is the developers that released game trailers that were actually accurate. You can make a video everyday about inaccurate and deceitful trailers. We all would rather know the developers to trust and who releases trailers that are genuine to the real game.

Number 5: Seems like it was nitpicking choice to place on here. To say the trailer looks better than the final product is a crazy thought of a hot take. The world may feel empty on most occasions, but compared the final product towards how the trailer looks, the final product triumphs every single time. 6: 44

Dead Island had me thinking I would be getting some amazing sad survival game or something based on the trailer with the family, still enjoy the game but the trailer definitely led me to believe it was something different than what it ended up being. Can’t wait for Dead Island 2 to finally come to steam.

Thinking about this and it sounds more like you made inferences and speculation based on trailers which were wrong. Did the game documentation / marketing materials actually aay these things or did you just guess. Its not a lie if what you thought the game would be simply came out of your imagination.

Those mobile game trailers even provide fake trailer fodder today! You get fake ads calling out apps that had fake ads, saying this is the actual game. Yeah, buddy, it's consigned to an afterthought minigame that comprises 0. 5% of the content and requires 0. 1% brain power.

There's a mobile game called the Grand Mafia and it gets advertised all the time (you've prolly seen it. What's weird about it is it's nothing like the point and click puzzle game shown in the ad; instead it's a chapter by chapter adventure story game about a hitman.

Sons Of Liberty’s excruciating mistake was advertising the game trailer with Snake when the game was about someone else. The game was phenomenal but so many players hated that they didn’t get to play as Snake like they thought they would.

It's all specifically Ubisoft. The Division 1. Literally EVERY Skull & Bones video. And especially Ghost Recon Future Soldier. Finally Anthem but that's EA. If those 4 games are not liable for false advertising then I don't know what is.
