My personal solution to the unfinished games debacle is that I almost never buy new games now (Street Fighter 6 is the only exception to this in many years.
I always get them much later, usually several years or more and by then they are either fixed by the devs as they always should of been, fixed/improved by modders or in retrospect they are revealed by many to be not that great and not worth it anyway.
This way I avoid most of the disappointments that the industry keeps dishing out and I get things much cheaper. Plus even if a game is not as good as folks were hoping but is still decent, the cost being so low can suddenly make these games and DLC's a lot more attractive.
I still have a back catalogue of dozens upon dozens of AAA games that I haven't played (all purchased at dirt cheap prices) and all rated very highly by the gaming community. So if these scum bag companies keep serving up festering slop for the foreseeable future, I'm still covered for a long time.
I know this isn't the best solution for a lot of folks, but for many people, playing older titles is the only viable way to keep enjoying AAA gaming now days.

If only people didn't accept them for like 15 years before getting sick of them. I mean, I'm at least partially included, but to be fair, I tended to have almost NO issues with ANY game EVERYONE ELSE had trouble with, EXCEPT Cyberpunk 2077. AC Unity No real issues. Beat the whole game with like, 4 crashes 1 bug during parkour where I had to close and restart the game because nothing else worked. That's really not bad with that many hours played. DA: Inquisition Same thing. No falling under Skyhold, etc. Except, of course, Bethesda games. But I only bought 5 of them, and Oblivion was like $20 for the GOTY edition.
Anyway, I don't plan on accepting broken games going forward, either. I can't remember my last pre-order. In fact, I'm still behind on BG3 and some other stuff.

Players are less acceptive now
No. We used to play finished games. You ever heard people crying about skyrim or GTA for example No. Games used to be released as a whole product.
The digital version, early access, etc has made devs heavily lazy. Hilarious that while apologizing or recognizing their mistakes they go to players are less accepting. No. People pay money to play something, not to stress about issues you purposely release.
Same thing happened with Cyberpunk. A bit of the players fault because CDPR kept rescheduling launch and players were complaining. They launched it how it was and it was a mess. If they wouldn’t had fallen to the pressure, the release wouldn’t had been bad.

Funny how, every time I hear half-baked anything - I drop right back to thinking about cyberpunk fall and rise
I guess it was the biggest story of that type that actually worked out fine after all
But somehow that event was first in line of unfinished products all over the place
Games
Movies
Phones
Cars
How did we land here Are we all in a bit of a hurry to get nowhere)
Interesting how our time works)
On other topics:
Waiting for Halloween sales more the black Friday at that point)
Time to try horrors as a thing never really did that
Thinking Dead space remake- is going to be my first game of that genre

I completed my first BG3 play through a couple of weeks back. The final battle in act 3 of the game was littered with audio bugs, voices cutting and no voices on PS5. It spoiled over 200 hours plus me and my mrs had out in the game. All the great voice acting gone.
A year ago on Reddit people were complaining of this. Larian took peoples money, yet a year on the game is still broken in places after the recent patch as well. What have they been doing
I emailed them, got a response asking for my save file so they could look at it. Their site did not work to allow me to do that. When I asked them for help on that, radio silence.

I think there needs to be a quality control agency for gaming or governing body, that passes games as fit for purpose and sale.
No other industry is allowed to sell broken products. Gaming should be no different.
Imagine buying a car, and they send you a chassis and two wheels with a promise of more to come and the car being fixed and ready by an engineer a year or two later. Folk would flip their lid. Meanwhile, you would see the manufacturer pat themselves on the back on social media for a job well done.
Gaming prices went up, quality control did not. We should be demanding better as consumers.

Player perspective = I played it in early access but now i'm bored to play it again with all the bug fixes cause i already know that story. Nothing new for me except bug fixes and some small new things here and there
Developer perspective = i don't have enough funds to make the whole game, but i'll need to make enough money to drop my 9-5 job, so i take care of it full time, and be able to hire more people to complete the promised targets
Damn, the paradox.

I will wait for sale for Hades 2 and Mechwarrior 5: Clans (it changed from UE 4 to UE 5) but now I am on Elden Ring DLC and Tactical Breach Wizards. The last one have some problems, pretty common in Unity games: it crashes the Windows. Yeah, it is happening. Also, I hope Subnautica 2 have native compatibility with VR like the first one, because it is much better to play. But my hopes are low on this.

Here's an idea for devs.
Release an early access free demo of the game on whatever platform its being released for a limited time. Just one level or small area with the majority of the mechanics included and include a feedback section.
Yeah, they'll got some trolling but through all the noise the regular complaints will shine and they can address them before official release

You are missing something really important. Euro truck simulator 2 is 12 years old. The developer is still updating and adding to the map and new gameplay. Making it easier to play on console and handheld. Tons of mod support. Listening to the player base. Just added the driving school as a whole new way to play the game. Great job and really one of the best dev teams in the world.

With the video you just released about patents I feel like a bond game will be a generic shooter or a game very familiar/similar to eidos. Which ain't necessarily bad, but I'd rather Hitman sequel then another ip that plays like hitman because that's all they can do legally. Unless they're ready to explore new things, but what's their budget like It's gonna be a no from me dawg

Not much strategy games you talk about like the best ones in the past 5 years or reloaded/definitive editions on newer PCs, I get unfortunately strategy will always b mostly PC and no consoles so you might get a lower view, but there's a lot strategy enthusiastic out there (Hint here, Stronghold Definitive Edition is a mpfua, brilliant and brings back childhood memories. Peace

Imagine other industries trying to sell unfinished products. Like when you buy a car you just get a frame with wheels, with the expectation being that you will be fine with buying a car lacking an engine and seats and you will just do a Flintstones thing to commute while you wait months or years for it to be finished.

For gaming news in the future, maybe something about Pokemon unite I shifted my league addiction (not really an addiction but my love for that kind of game lol) to unite, but it can be laggy, lots of bots, and the pay to advance is really annoying. But we can play as Darkrai soon so that's cool I guess

It’s need 6 years since RDR2 release and it’s still better than ALL current titles. There are no excuses.
The tech is there, the tools are there, the ingenuity is there. Gaming corps need to recognize annual unfinished releases are only destroying any future they wanted.

You can forgive one rushed game, as long as the next one isn't. Literally every game nowadays that costs 49. 99 has a 125% chance of releasing unfinished and finishing it 2 years later and it takes the piss. If a game releases 75% complete then charge me accordingly.

Been playing tiny glade since it was released. And I'm still finding new techniques and sometimes I just put the game in a good frame and leave it, with the in game music on, while I leave the pc to do other things, and it acts like a live wallpaper with sound.

A prime example is Balder's Gate 3. The developers sent out advance copies then spent an additional two years fine tuning prior to full release. The final version sold itself. Marketing was barely necessary. Everyone is aware of the game's existence.
