I hate calling a game a soulslike. Dark Souls was not the first of its kind. A story with many bosses. That is an RPG. I do not understand soulslike. Is it because it is hard Is it because it can be custom characters Nothing was new from Dark Souls besides it putting many features into one game, now any game with some of those features is a souls like.
The only thing that makes something a soulslike is that it is hard and story driven in a dark fantasy it is a standard RPG game though. Sooooo. Halo on legendary is a souls like because of the flood, it is hard, and it is about saving the world from a killer entity. Dishonored can be considered a soulslike.

Kind of mixed feelings about how many of these are remakes/remasters of games older than 5 years since it points to there being pretty slim pickings for good modern games but it seems to balance out enough as long as you don't pay too much attention to how poor AAA studios have been performing. With stuff like vampire survivors and power wash simulator there's still been some fun to be had. And still a few great bigger titles like RDR2 and basically anything from Ryu ga Gotoku studio.

This list is a good reminder of the many good games we've had so far.
Though. I kinda disagee with powerwash simulator being in this list, it's a very generic game that will please some people, but honestly it doesn't have much to offer, it is very repetitive, and it's very generic visually, it's similar to the many others simulators like 'cooking sim' or 'pc building sim'.
Ad others said many games couldn't be in this list, removing power wash would have saved a place.

cyberpunk 2077 is not good, the problem isnt the lack of polish but the fact its a looter shooter gta open world clone and not a rpg and the story isnt great and the level scaling makes it worse not better.
Most of the list is console re-releases, here are some pc games that came out the last few years that were great, ashes 2063, amc tc, prodeus, echo point nova, colony ship, insomnia the ark, underail, atom rpg, why do i bother no one is gonna see this or care.

HL: Alyx has actually caused this weird thing to happen whenever anyone asks me my favorite games or what best games of all time are, etc. It is genuinely one of the greatest and most revolutionary pieces of media ever created. It is also unfortunately something that like twelve people have, or even can, experience. If you have a decent PC and an extra $200 lying around for a quest 2, this game is worth any amount of money and i do not say this lightly.

The only thing I truly hated about Power Wash Stimulator is that the challenge section was just unfun. I feel the same way about most timed game stuff (unless they devs are reasonable and are like, gold isn't hard to get, but see if you can beat your own high scores) where I just don't bother. I don't like the stress of it because it's an unnatural part of why I play games. Devs, don't put timed crap in your game.

Where are all the people who constantly complain there are no games That gaming is dead etc. We live in a golden age of gaming. That doesn’t mean there aren’t issues with the industry, but there are soo many amazing games, I’ll never get to them all in my lifetime

Love that Powerwash Simulator is on this list! Great game! Very meditative. My ocd loves making things clean. The sound of water is very calming asmr. There's an actual story! And the dlcs take you to everywhere from Alice in wonderland to Warhammer to SpongeBob. And there are garden gnomes. who can beat that

I wanted Mass Effect 3's multiplayer co-op more than anything else. That shit was fun. If you've played all three games (campaign before co-op in ME3, you'd know how badass it was to finally play as another race with other abilities. Hell, even a damn Krogan Warlord or Geth Prime. Even N7 classes that didn't exist in the main game.

0: 40 It wasn't unplayable at launch, at least on PC for me it was! And I believe others too.
I was maybe 1/3rd through the campaign when a quest glitched, and wouldn't let me access a prompt whatsoever! It wasn't until the first patch that I could continue my save, however it was worth the wait

Was kinda hoping this was going to be more PC exclusives. I don’t have a PC, but I’ve either played all these on XBOX, PS5, or can play them on those platforms. Wanted to get a Steamdeck one day for games I can’t play on console, but they’re showing all games you can play on console lol.

I really enjoyed Shadow Gambit but it had a few things that really didn't make it as strong as either Shadow Tactics games. A shame Mimimi closed but it truly is a niche genre.
Tactical Breach Wizards is wonderful. I was lucky enough to get to beta test it and the release is such fun.

Half Life Alyx FTW, I know it's pricey, but quality VR is good, Alyx is great. I played Half-Life on a 486 VGA, played Half-Life 2 on a Pentium 2 Gforce 1080, and played Alyx on my I9 14900k RTX 4080super Valve Index, those are my favorite experiences of each era(Beat Saber is great too)

Do the math my friend. There are six years between 2019 and 2024, not five years.
Edit: I checked again and realized that all of the 2019 games here were actually released in the October / November period, which means they were indeed released in the last 5 years.

I'm glad that you labeled Dave the diver as indie not indie. Despite being a great game, people tend to associate those kind of graphics to indie. Well let me tell you DtD is right the opposite of indie, backed by big money. Once again, awesome game that I will always recommend.

Completely disagree with The Final Cut of Disco Elysium not being the best version of that game. The voice acting is phenomenal and adds so much life to the game. Yeah there is a lot of dialogue to get through but you can always skip it if you're bored.

The credibility of this list is in question when you start it off with Cyberpunk 2077. I don't personally think it's a good game. It's OK, but what they promised is nothing like what we got and it took modders to make the game what it should have been.

Dead space remake was good on console but on pc it stutters like crazy even today on my pc that can run a 3500 mod list for Skyrim at Ultra settings and get steady 60 fps.
And yes it stuttered at every graphics setting i tried
