Netherrealm or at least WB get what they deserve with their gouging. - I was up for jumping on board of modern MK, as I haven't bothered in many years, but they had to just go crazy with micro-transactions and whatnot. And I also don't care for the forced cross-over shit ever since games like 'Dead By Daylight' and of course 'Fortnite' went all-in on that. - Why can't games with their own universe just stay within that universe. It's only for marketing and money. It's all the YOU KNOW THIS CHARACTER RIGHT! crap that doesn't work on me. - Yea, OK, occasionally in some franchises they will put stuff from other franchises, like. say the Universal (Studios/movies) packs for something like 'Planet Coaster' or even 'Pinball FX'. But I think that's still fairly reasonable, as it works and it doesn't matter as much, and also they don't really keep going with it as hard, just reaching for any IPs to keep churning out DLC to sell. - Just the whole Haha, what can we shove into it next rather than making it make sense withing a franchise's own universe, such as with Mortal Kombat and its characters. It cheapens it and make it less special. Again, they could've done a proper reboot of sorts, but no, they had to make it a content-platform. But not that I'm surprised, just annoyed and disappointed.

If Flight Sim '24 finally incorporated SOME version of a controller arcade mode, I would have been in to it.
But learning how to use an Xbox Controller just to fly a helicopter around for PHOTO MODE. come on. Can't we just have fun and see cool sights You REALLY need us all to learn how to be pilots and use cockpit view to look around to press buttons and twist and pull shit JUST to fly
You know how simple it is in arcade mode Up, down, left, right. look around stick. R1 and L1 control rudder. R2 and L2 control speed. Not complicated!
And this is, honestly, Microsoft's fault because they advertise their game as being more friendly and fun with more missions and what not to do. but nooooooooo. It's not like that at all unless you LEARN to fly and get your controller set up.

In my honest opinion I was very eagerly anticipating Microsoft Flight Sim 2024 only to discover that it was in my opinion the biggest gaming disaster that I have ever experienced in 10 years. I can't even get into my aircraft to start it up I start out on the tarmac in the middle of the aircraft glitched into the damn thing and I can't move and I'm on Xbox the graphics are like PlayStation 2 the tablet thing is a joke and it is my honest opinion that the game should be taken off the digital stores people should be refunded and the game should be completely reworked and actually finished with proper quality assurance testing before they even attempt to re-release it. I think I'll stick with Microsoft Flight Sim 2020 for the next 5 years.

Game developers canceling character packs and half-assed story expansions due to poor DLC sales is never a bummer. The only way we will return to full price games being complete at launch is if people stop giving these greedy slop peddlers even more money for stuff that should have been included. Shadow of the Erdtree is a genuine expansion, with tons of content in addition to an awesome base game. But now, every game from every studio thinks that they're entitled to charging the same price for some different skins or the end of a story that they arbitrarily paywalled.

It's a shame MSFS's launch has been so rocky but was anybody REALLY surprised by it or seriously thought it wasn't going to be fixed Yeah, the game companies absolutely should do a lot better, but if you're shocked that they aren't at this point, that's on you. Unless you're a reviewer or a streamer or it's something you absolutely positively have to play on launch day, expect it to be an unofficial extended early access, or enjoy your backlog and wait for a decent sale once most of the bugs have been fixed. Or pass it up if they aren't.

Microsoft’s 2 major releases; Stalker 2 and Flight Sim, we’re both disastrous releases. Get your shit together Microsoft!
Curious how Sony will price a handhold. If it runs PS5 games, will it be cheaper than a PS5 It has to compete with Steamdeck and Switch, which will be interesting.
Finally that Horizon clone is a survival game, but being multiplayer I wonder how the actual Horizon multiplayer game will fair against it. It’s suppose to release next year, and this clone might eat into Sony’s player base.

PS5 Mini handheld yeah nah thats boring! I can Stream PS5 games on my OLED Steamdeck
Part of what made the PSP and Vita so great, was the challenge of porting games to handheld, or making great new IP’s for a portable console.
The innovation of being limited to handheld will not be there with a console dedicated to a handful of PS5 games.
Id be more disappointed if my Steamdeck didn’t exist.
Great video Jake, I always have a food hangover.

Anyone who thought that MSFS2024, an almost entirely cloud based entity, wasn't going to be a train wreck on day one was being blind to reality. Of course it was a mess. Thankfully, it's smooth as silk now and performs even better than expected on my lower than perfect spec machine. I'm running it on ultra settings with my 3060 and I've yet to see any frame drops or jitteriness (yes even in New York while flying low.

I’m sorry I’m not interested in playing the ps5 on the go with the same exact games that will probably run like crap. Now would be a good chance for them to make a good ps2-ps3 on the go held held with graphical upgrades. Like they have so many ips from that generation that long lost that could have a graphical enhancement like the sly series or jak.

Okay, I originally was going to comment about hoping sony doesn't just abandon their next handheld like they did the vita because it sucked spending that money for something that they instantly gave up on, but hearing that last story I just had to ask. who's cutting onions in here! wasn't expecting to get choked up watching a gameranx video today

I really can't imagine how an informed consumer would purchase a dedicated playstation handheld when it will presumably be roughly the same price as a steam deck or other handheld pc. The console vs pc debate could generally be explained away by price, but a handheld pc is an objectively better product than whatever sony makes.

2 words we all are far to familiar with being in the same sentence, Microsoft & Disaster They really went downhill since the 360 and most everything they do anymore is a disaster.
Also, you keep mentioning review bombing, is it really review bomb if they game was not working Seems like a normal review in that case

I don't really get all the defense for Genshin not being a BOTW rip-off. Don't get me wrong, I love playing it (when I'm not mint picking or stuck in a cutscene. And as it stands NOW, it hasn't been just a BOTW rip-off in a long time. But Mondstat patches are absolutely just diet anime BOTW.

Suprised you didn’t mention that Larian Studios revealed their next hugeee patch coming early next year. Crossplay is finally coming to Baldurs Gate 3 and 12 new subclasses. I’ve been waiting for crossplay for about a year so I can play with my pc friends. Super excited

Nintendo needs more pressure on it regarding its Switch. Rumors are that the hardware they're using is from 2019. They can't release these things once every 10 years anymore when everyone is making a new best in class handheld every year.

I get the Friday new every Saturday morning and it has become a tradition. Every Saturday morning, I sit in front of my gaming system, sipping tea and listening to that week's game news from Jake. What a great way to start my weekend.

If NetherRealm ends up cancelling their DLC release, per Steam return policy update, I hope they end up refunding part of the cost for investing into the game to get that DLC now that they're not getting that update.
